Revelations is a spooky, classy thriller depicting the world as a battleground between satanists and those who adhere to miracles revealing God's divine plan for humanity. Bill Pullman stars as Harvard scientist Bill Massey, whose successful quest to bring his daughter's seemingly demon-possessed serial killer to justice turns him into a well-known debunker of others who claim to speak for the Beastmaster. Josepha has been led to Massey through a brain-dead girl who, though medically impossible, quotes scripture and has drawn a map to his office. Despite his skepticism, Massey teams with the nun in search of a kidnapped baby who may very well be the Christ-child in His just-in-time-for-Armageddon second coming. Written by David Seltzer (Dragonfly), and directed by occasional Buffy helmer David Semel and Lili Fini Zanuck (Rush), Revelations has an appealing vitality (especially when Massey and Sister Josepha become targets for assassins), a nice Hollywood gloss, and an unsettling air of mystery, as if angels and demons really are duking it out for dominion of the Earth right under our noses. --Tom Keogh

Watchable.......2007-02-20

I watched this only because I am a Blockbuster Online member and needed something in my Que. It's a typical mini-series that plays the story out over six or eight hours. Overall, it's a well made, decent show. If you run out of things to watch, pick it up.

I kind of felt guilty after a while because Natascha McElhone (Sister Josepha Montafiore) is hot and I found myself hoping that she and Bill Pullman would sleep together, just to add some emotional conflict to the story. "Man struggles to save his family and the world, but is torn after having sex with a nun...a hot nun..." I think that would have played out better, but that's just me.

Have a few beers and enjoy.

THE END OF DAYS.......2007-01-23

Writer/producer David Seltzer seems to have a significant passion for the Antichrist as evidenced in his hit movie THE OMEN and in this six hour miniseries from 2005.
All the familiar territory from the Book of Revelations is included in this story of an astrophysicist (played woodenly by Bill Pullman, who is always better in comedy), who is recruited by a maverick nun (passionately performed by Natascha McElhone) to help her stop the birth of the Antichrist and to find the miracle baby who just may be the incarnation again of Jesus. Michael Massee is a despicable villain as Satanist Haden, who murdered Pullman's daughter and has now kidnapped his impressionable stepson.
The movie benefits from its many locations and for the most part, the pacing is brisk and it's easy to get involved with the story. I wasn't too pleased with its nebulous ending, but if you enjoyed THE OMEN, you will probably enjoy REVELATIONS too.

Very disappointed!.......2007-01-10

I was very disappointed in the Revelations movie. I had a hard time staying focused on the movie, as it jumped around too much and the characters were not believable. I'm sorry to say I would not recommend this movie and I found it to be a waste of time; it also left you hanging.

Could be a 5 star series but..........2006-11-10

I purchased this series because I saw the first two chapters on TV.

This six chapter series is recommended for all of you that love to see movies and series about religious, supernatural and apocalypse topics.

In my opinion this series could have being done in more than 6 chapters, I felt it rather short and I think it could have being 12 or more chapters.

The only thing that disappoints me is the final chapter and how the series ends. I'm just going to say what I mentioned earlier, 12 or more chapters could be great.

But overall it's a good series.

I love this series but I was dissapointed with the ending... I hope there is a second season of Revelations to make up for the last episode!

This History Channel documentary on the Biblical Book of Revelations is a decent introduction to this most puzzling and intriguing book of all the canonical writings. "The Apocalypse of John" has fascinated readers since ancient times and this short DVD highlights a number of topics that should prepare the interested viewer to dive in and do further research on this rather arcane subject.

The video begins by exploring the legendary site of the final battle between Good and Evil as fortold in the Bible, the ruins of Meggido, or as it is written in Hebrew, Armageddon. It then provides a cursory background to the reputed author of the Book of Revelations, St. John of Patmos and his place in history. It alludes to the large genre of ancient writings known as apocalyptic literature and how John's book was only one of many such prophetic tomes. It shows that John's book draws heavily on the much older biblical Book of Daniel and was the subject of much debate by early Christians who questioned whether it should be included in the Bible canon at all.

This video is a good introduction to the fascinating subject of Christian eschatology and would be good for anyone interested in Bible prophesy and the End Times.

Above Average with a Good Point, Generally Low Rent.......2007-08-28

I watched this movie tonight, and I must admit, I started it expecting to hate it, and instead found the patience to watch it to the end.

It's a B movie at best, with limited script, acting cast, set sophistication. Certainly worthwhile as a source of reflections, but I'd like to see a much more skilled cinematography community spreading the Christian message.

By the by, Revelation is not in the index, and the Gospel of St. Thomas continues to be community-oriented interpretation of God on Earth in community.

This second in the Apocalypse Trilogy is well-done and thoughtful. I enjoyed this view of the end of the world. I recommend it.

Lots of drama & a really cool sci-fi/virtual reality angle with a dash of horror ... FX not up to Hollywood standards, but the story is pretty solid & most of the acting excellent. Best one in the series, IMO.

I really got sucked into this one early on & the sci-fi thing simply blew me away -- I wasn't expecting that from a Christian movie. Hugs, kisses & lots of pats on the back to whoever thought of it.

I've seen them all now & I think this one is by far the best in the series, (although it is interesting to me how each movie approaches the endtimes from a COMPLETELY different angle -- which is bad in terms of continuity & yet good in terms of entertainment, because you never know what you're going to get when you start watching one of these flicks; the story is always a surprise).

Excellent quality from both Amazon's end (shipping, packaging, timeliness) as well as the movie itself. I had the VCR tape already, and in a move to a DVD library, this was a must, and at an excellent price. This movie, as many recent Christian-produced movies, are finally showing the potential of A-rated quality movies. Christian film-making has had a lot of catching up to do, and this movie proves that this is not only happening, but the Lord is bringing His Word to the media in a way that will capture what He is after the most, not only by excellence in quality, but by His Spirit using that excellence. Awesome DVD on The Book of Revelation!.......2005-09-07

Of the set of 12, I found this DVD to be most riveting. The Book of Revelation opens up and comes alive while you watch this video. The colors leap off the screen while sound effects and images present Revelation as never seen before, and because its word for word, you know nothing has been left out. I highly recommend this DVD if you want to "watch" the book of Revelation from beginning to end with no interuptions! (...) Five stars solid!
