Don't waste your money on this crappy DVD.......2004-07-20

Be warned. This DVD is made by a company call Jef Films. It is a sorry excuse for a DVD. This Jess Franco movie was originally released in 1.85 :1 aspect ratio. Here it has been pan and scanned to a supposedly fullscreen format. It is however not fullscreen but has a wide vertical bar at the right edge of the screen. The picture quality is atrocious and looks like a poor VHS recording. Dirt and film scratches are abundant. Black and white levels are inconsistent. Details are absent in darker scenes. Bright scenes appear overexposed. The fleshtones have a distinct greenish-orange cast which in this kind of movie with lots of flesh is especially irritating.

There is another Region 1 DVD of this movie released by VIP which is stunning in comparison. It is in the original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 (enhanced for widescreen TVs)and has been meticulously restored. Fleshtones are perfect and put to shame the Jef Films release. It is part of the expanding Jess Franco DVD collection issued by VIP. Unfortunately the VIP disc is not available on Amazon but you can buy it at xploitedcinema.com.

Don't buy this crappy DVD. In fact, based on this DVD, I would advise DVD buyers to stay away from all Jef Film DVDs in the future.
