5 out of 5 stars Es un clásico a prueba del tiempo / Timeless classic!.......2007-09-17

16 years has passed and this film holds to the nowadays blockbusters. THX remasteriation and optimization is a must and fair choice for this great film and the blu ray format.

Less than 20 greens are nothing compared with what you get. You won't regret it.

4 out of 5 stars Theatrical release on Blu Ray OR Director's Cut on HD?!.......2007-08-23

I have to say I would choose the HD release of this movie, for starters because my boyfriend has an HD player, and it also has a lot of extra scenes which were cut from the director's cut, but for once, add a lot to the film itself. At the moment, people are still sitting on the fence or choosing one or the other format. Some people prefer Blu Ray, some people prefer HD. I can't get into this, as I haven't watched any Blu Ray movies. But we'll soon see which will be the video cassette, and which will be the DVD. Soon I hope.

There are so many editions of this movie out there, it's hard to know which one to choose. Personally, for me it would be this one (well, the HD release which isn't listed on Amazon for some reason) the director's cut, as those always win hands down with me. James Cameron does the best movies. I just wish he'd change his mind and release a special edition of True Lies. A Classic!!!

This movie is said to be one of the best sequels in Scream 2 - which is in fact itself a sequel. And indeed it is a great sequel, with the only slight annoyance being Edward Furlong and his ever changing voice! (He is clearly much younger in the desert, for instance, than in other scenes. His voice began to break and had to be pitched to one level in post-production.) With Linda Hamilton looking about as unfeminine as Madonna is now, and Arnie as the good guy this time round (Arnie said during the making of this film that he would never play another evil character again, but he later played the villain Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin), this is truly a great sequel. Although I do prefer Nick Stahl as John Connor in T3, than Edward Furlong.

There seems to be a lot of twin stuff in this movie, as Linda's sister, Leslie came in to be a double in scenes involving two "Sarah Connors" (i.e., when the T1000 was imitating her), and in a scene where Sarah removes the Terminator's CPU, and threatens to destroy it, her sister is basically in the mirror! And also identical twins Don Stanton and Dan Stanton played the hospital security guard and the T1000.

If you were a fan of Michael Biehn in the first movie, he makes a reappearance in this, in Sarah's dream sequence, and warns her that THEIR son is in danger. She has to save him, etc. They kiss and then she wakes up. This is the only scene that Michael Biehn was in, and appeared in some promotional trailers. Cameron cut the scene because he thought that audiences who had not seen the first movie would be confused by the appearance of Kyle. But it is included on the cut shown on the DVD.

Many scenes included on the DVD for you enjoyment and not in the theatrical release include:

--> A hospital scene was cut that took place directly after the pre-med students peer into Sarah's room. The doctor reminds the orderlies to make sure she gets her medication. The cut scene was of the staff coming in to give her the pills. They smack her in the gut with their batons and force the pills down her throat, then kick her while she's on the floor doubled over in pain. (This scene had to be re-shot several times because actor Ken Gibbel wouldn't hit Linda Hamilton properly with his nightstick. The scene was very physically demanding and Hamilton was furious with Gibbel because he repeatedly botched it. She got her revenge in a later scene where she beats Gibbel with a broken off broom handle - the blows are for real.)
--> After the T-1000 kills John's foster parents, he ventures outside to get the dog to shut-up. He reaches down and snatches the collar off the dog, thus killing the dog. On the collar is stamped the dog's name "Max". The T-1000 realizes he has been duped by John (actually the T-800 imitating John's voice) by calling the dog "Wolfie."
--> After killing the dog, the T-1000 goes to John's room to try to find any clues as to where John might be. He stalks around the room waving his arms and "feeling" things on the shelves, on the walls, etc. He eventually stops in front of a poster, realizes there is something behind it, rips it down and finds a box of mementos (pictures, and the like). This must be where the T-1000 figures out about the desert compound that Sarah, John, and the T-800 head to after the hospital. James Cameron decided to cut it because it made the T-1000 look too much like it had x-ray vision.
--> At the abandoned gas station, a scene involved Sarah and John talking with the T-800 about learning. He tells them that his CPU was switched to read-only before being sent out. Cyberdyne doesn't want them to learn too much while on their own. John asks can it be switched and he says yes. You then see the T-800's face in a "mirror" talking Sarah through the procedure. A puppet was used for the foreground Sarah to work on and Linda's twin sister Leslie was in the mirror mimicking Linda's hand movements. After the CPU is removed, the T-800 shuts-down and Sarah places it on a table. She picks up a hammer and tries to smash it to render him inoperative. John stops her and says they need him. He starts to show authority for the first time and says to Sarah, "How am I supposed to be a world leader if my own mother won't listen to me?"
--> A scene in a Skynet-free future, with Sarah Connor as an older woman giving a monologue about how John became a senator.

Given Arnie's $15 million salary and his total of 700 words of dialog, that translates to $21,429 per word. "Hasta la vista, baby" cost $85,716.

This is a great sequel, and well worth getting, although if you find Edward Furlong an annoying little brat like I did, then watch T3 and have your faith in movies reaffirmed.

3 out of 5 stars Mediocre HD transfer, not much extra........2007-08-15

There's little reason to grab this over the standard DVD version. The transfer is fuzzy and details are not particularly sharp; granted, it's from 1992 and wasn't exactly filmed in HD to begin with, but I was expecting more out of it than this. The extras treatment is very bare bones, repeating the same commentaries from before and adding little in the way of additional materials. Fortunately it's cheap, but don't expect much.

3 out of 5 stars Go for the Ultimate or Extreme edition. .......2007-06-22

I love this movie, it is one of my all time favorites. I recently upgraded to a Blu-Ray player and this is one of the first movies I bought. I am hugely disappointed in the quality and features of this BD. It honestly sux. I went from the Ultimate edition to this BD edition and took a huge step back. The quality is about the same as the Ultimate or Extreme editions and there are no bonus features. This was one of the big movies I bought a Blu-ray player for, so you can understand my disappointment. I will probably sell it and re-buy the Ultimate or Extreme edition. I recommend waiting to see if they come out with an Ultimate or Extreme edition on Blu-ray before buying this one.

5 out of 5 stars im happy with this version.......2007-04-21

it may not be the extended version with cut scenes. I will say i watched this movie on digital cable and compared it to the blu0ray version and trust me there is a big difference more colors no smearing of facial features like on the cable version and the sound is incredible. If your hdtv sucks then blu-ray version may suffer if the difference is not noticable its your tv
and not the blu-ray disc. This is a must have for terminator fans!

After he pushed the envelope of computer-generated special effects in The Abyss, director James Cameron turned this hotly anticipated sequel to Terminator into a well-written, action-packed showcase for advanced special effects and for one of the most invincible villains ever imagined. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a legitimate sequel: there's more story to tell about a hulking, leather-clad android (Arnold Schwarzenegger) who arrives from the future to protect a rebellious teenager and future leader (Edward Furlong) from being killed by the tenacious T-1000 robot (Robert Patrick), whose liquid-metal construction makes him seemingly unstoppable. The fate of the future lies in the balance, with Linda Hamilton (who would later marry her director) reprising her role as the rugged woman whose son will change the course of history. --Jeff Shannon

Description

He said he'd be back. This time experience T2 like never before! Go EXTREME with the best picture and sound ever! ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER returns as the Terminator in this explosive action-adventure spectacle. Now he's one of the good guys, sent back in time to protect John Connor, the boy destined to lead the freedom fighters of the future. LINDA HAMILTON reprises her role as Sarah Connor, John's mother, a quintessential survivor who has been institutionalized for her warning of the nuclear holocaust she knows is inevitable. Together, the threesome must find a way to stop the ultimate enemy - the T-1000, the most lethal Terminator ever created. Co-written, produced and directed by James Cameron ("The Terminator," "Aliens," "Titanic), this visual tour de force is also a touching story of survival.

5 out of 5 stars Phenomenal Transfer.......2007-09-13

I own all DVD editions of T2, including the T2 Ultimate Edition. The transfer quality of the Extreme Edition is head and shoulders above the Ultimate Edition. I recommend purchasing this version even if you have the others.

Why did I buy it? I recently purchased an HD DVD player and it exposed the lower quality transfer of the Ultimate Edition. I immediately noticed a difference when I played this version (Extreme) on my HD DVD player. With the exception of the UK or French T2 HD DVDs, this is the best version of T2 available.

5 out of 5 stars The Movie: Must Have. The DVD: Must Have.......2007-09-05

This ranks among The Godfather, Part II (Two-Disc Widescreen Edition), Spider-Man 2 (Widescreen Special Edition) and Aliens (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) as one of the few sequels to surpass the original. Coincidentally, this is created by the same man who gave us Aliens.

I'm sure all of you know the story, Arnold Schwarzenegger is sent back in time by John Connot to protect his young self from the T-1000. This movie is action packed and amazing when it comes to technology. The T-1000 looks even better than most of the movie being produced today.

But the real treat here is the DVD. Two Discs jam packed full of features. It includes numerous features, three, count them, three versions of the movie, theatrical, special, and extended editons of the movie. It also includes a very busy audio commentary, the script anf 700+ storyboards. There's so much on this disc it'd take me hours just to list all of it.

This is a Must Have. Definite Must Have. The movie is wonderful and the DVD complements it perfectly.

5 out of 5 stars Best Sci Fi Movie Ever.......2007-08-23

Although it came out in the 1980's i haven't seen any film that is more sci fi than terminator 2 . the dvd it self was of the best i' ve ever seen. The special effects were outstanding and they even got an academy award for it, aside from the special effects it also had a good storyline. It is about John Connor who is going to be very important in the future against skynet, has to be saved because skynet has sent a time travellling cyborg to kill him from existing in the future.

5 out of 5 stars Classic, with some nice extras on the DVD.......2007-08-01

If you are seeking the turning point in Computer Generated Films, Terminator 2 marks the first true success of it, with the morphing Terminator cop, originally influenced by films like Willow and The Abyss, both with marked CGI effects.

The film is a must for Terminator fans, with much action and gunfire, with Arnold's trademark style. Some great explosions, though the film has slow times for story telling.

The extras are interesting, but the HD version is only good on a PC with a specific setup with Windows, being released before true HD players. Commentary and extras are good in general though. Recommend fans buy this version.

5 out of 5 stars They really don't make 'em like this anymore.......2007-07-24

It is interesting to watch this fifteen years later and see how it holds up. This was the movie that ushered in the era of digital sound, it also showed morphing, environment mapping and these things that were already present in much shorter form in The Abyss (Special Edition) during the water creature sequence.

From the plot standpoint, this is the only Terminator movie that could have worked without Arnie. And maybe this is not a coincidence, it probably was conceived that way. If Arnold would have demanded too big a paycheck, this probably would have become "Sara and John get chased by the T-1000". And it probably would have been almost as good. That being said, it is great to have Arnie back, because when the first part had him act like a (pretty scary) machine, here he is in a way more human than in most of his other roles where he plays actual humans.

One could almost be a bit nostalgic for the time when Hollywood could still produce carefully thought-out blockbusters that rocked and even had a bit of wit. Watching "Die Hard 4" a few weeks ago was a good reminder how deeply the American film industry has fallen since then.

As far as the extra features on the DVD are concerned, I am grateful that James Cameron did not include that horrible sugar-coated coda in the theater version. It would have single-handedly wiped out the whole movie, it is so cringe-inducing. (Yes, even more cringe-inducing than Arnold's acting and the occasional bad SFX.)

In "Terminator 2", Cameron gives us great action scenes, punctuated by slower, more dialogue-heavy scenes. The film is long because it takes its time to draw its characters, and it does not rush to its conclusion but lets us savor it.

A few things look a bit ridiculous of course, like the obvious puppet of Arnie when he walks towards the cops at Cyberdyne while being shot at and that determinedly downtempo synthesizer music in some of the action scenes sometimes is a little embarrassing. Most cell phones can probably synthesize better sound today. But that does not detract from the accomplishment of the movie, which is built on character, situation, and a solid understanding of pacing.

Description

Immediately following his death by bus, Daniel finds himself in the afterlife facing his past. If you can't make a case for having lived a full and fearles

superb music score won an Academy Award.s life, you must go back to Earth and try again. But Daniel doesn't want to go back after he meets Julia in this heavenly fable written and directed by Albert Brooks.

Amazon.com

Albert Brooks proves there's laughs after death with this almost heavenly comedy--almost heaven as in Judgment City, where recently perished Daniel Miller (Brooks) learns whether he is worthy of advancing to a higher plane of existence or will be sent back to earth for another incarnation.

His fate will be determined in a very special trial, during which scenes from his life are replayed on a giant screen. "Isn't it realistic?" a judge asks. "It makes some people nauseous." While the steely prosecutor (Lee Grant) will try to prove that Daniel failed in life to face his fears and insecurities, his glad-handing, reassuring defender (Rip Torn) will argue on behalf of this hapless "little brain" (a Judgment City term for residents of earth).

As Woody Allen did for the future in Sleeper, so does Brooks create an original vision of the afterlife. In Judgment City, white-robed residents can eat as much as they want without guilt or fear of gaining weight. They can also visit the Past Lives Pavilion, where they are greeted by a hologram of--who else--Shirley MacLaine.

Daniel finds himself touched by an angel. Meryl Streep gives an enchanting performance as Julia, whose exemplary life is in stark contrast to his. During her trial, the court watches in rapture as she saves not only children, but a cat from a burning building.

Daniel and Julia are a match made in Judgment City, but first Daniel must summon up the courage to express his true feelings for her, or she will surely advance without him.

Defending Your Life is Brooks's most ambitious film and, with Mother, his most accessible. --Donald Liebenson

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Great movie........2007-09-16

This is a great movie. Not only is it funny, satirical, and romantic, but it also really made me think about my life, and how I can defend it! This movie is appropriate for audiences of all ages; I watched it with my boyfriend, my parents, and my younger brothers.

4 out of 5 stars Yet Another Great Film from Albert Brooks.......2007-08-22

Albert Brooks may be compared to Woody Allen as film director/writer. But, I find that his style to be a little different. He is the smart talking guy who tries to show his strength with sarcasm and big talk. Yeah, we have heard this guy before. It's probably us in many situations but Brooks plays this exactly on the dot. Meryl Streep just sticks around for the ride since this is Brooks' act. Well, Streep is wonderful and makes acting seem effortless. The idea of Judgement City is just pure genius when you consider that everyone expects to go to heaven for just being a good samaritan. Brooks places this assumption upside with court like drama.

With this DVD, it's disappointing to just have the trailer. In this comedy, I expected outtakes and deleted scenes. Considering that this film was a sleeper, I guess it's not a surprise that Warner Brothers decided not to invest more into this film. Well, I am glad that other films like The Accidental Tourist gets the royal treatment from Warner Brothers.

5 out of 5 stars A movie I watch every time it's on TV.......2007-07-17

I rarely watch movies I own on DVD, but if they come on TV, I'll watch it. This is one of those movies that every time it's on TV, I'll watch it.

I love the whole concept of the movie of moving on to a judgement period after you die, to decide to move on. Very original twist on the afterlife. Brooks is great as the somewhat hapless man who must defend his life's record. The real beauty of this movie is his time spent exploring Judgement City and his encounters with Meryl Streep. Brooks writing is very witty. I love the Hall of Previous lives where one can see what they were in previous lives. One of the best quotes is when Julia (Streep) asks Brooks what he was as they are each watching their own lives. Brooks previous life happens to be a native running from a lion. His answer is "Lunch."

The movie is full of wonderful dialogue, and clever little twists. There is a reason I watch it every time it's on. It's just fun and heartwarming.

5 out of 5 stars DEFENDING ALBERT BROOKS.......2007-07-01

This is Mr. Brooks at his side-splittingest and most sardonic as he prepares to enter the afterlife and must defend the decisions he made in life. This film is clever on all levels. Casting Meryl Streep as someone who has nothing to defend was a stroke of genius. Watch for Shirley MacLaine in a howlingly funny cameo. I have watched this again and again to make up for all the people who didn't see it in the theaters. I have given it as a gift many, many times to people who have never heard of it. I hate to use the term "feel-good" as it is overworked with regard to film, but when this one ends, I'm happy that I watched it.

5 out of 5 stars A Pleasant Comedy.......2007-06-27

I agree with most of what good things everyone says about this movie - I saw it in the theatre when it came out and bought it on DVD, although I'm a tad disappointed there aren't any extras on the DVD. Albert Brooks has always made me laugh but it's nice to see Meryl Streep possibly enjoying a film role for once - it seems like a good pairing of two cerebral actors - you may laff when you hear Brooks' name and the word cerebral in the same sentence but his movies have always made me think he has a good insight into the human psyche. The middle of the film where Lee Grant shows his various mistakes is hilarious and make you think that Brooks' character is just outside of being passed on to Heaven, until the last part of the movie - Rip Torn is his usual funny self, and his ambiguity and vagueness comes off as funny.

Director Stanley Kramer's socially conscious 1961 film tackles the subject of the war crime trials arising out of World War II in an earnest and straightforward fashion, exploring the consciousness of two nations as they struggle to come to terms with the aftermath of the Holocaust. Spencer Tracy plays the American judge selected to head the tribunal that will try the suspected war criminals. As he sets about his task, he must confront the raw emotion felt by the German people, and his own notions of good and evil, right and wrong. Regarded as a classic, this stark rendering of one of the most pivotal events in the 20th century features a stellar cast including Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Marlene Dietrich, a young William Shatner, and Maximillian Schell, who won an Oscar for his role as counsel for the defense for those charged with crimes against humanity. 5 out of 5 stars "You should have known the first time...".......2007-09-06

"Judgment at Nuremberg" is a brilliantly understated meditation on the most ordinary man's capacity for unimaginable evil under the collective spell of notions like "nation" and "country".

As Chief Judge Dan Haywood, Spencer Tracy delivers one of the best performances in film history: he isn't some sentimental, saccharine moral pedant, but a man from Texas who has been given the particularly unpleasant task of sentencing the leftovers of the Nazi Regime--the judges and doctor--to whatever sentence he deems fit. Tracy's character is not, at the outset of the film, fully convinced of Germany's collective guilt and the beautiful Marlene Dietrich plays the foil to his sense of morality.

The gorgeous widow of a particularly influential and vicious SS officer who was court martialed and sentenced to death by firing squad by the man acting as prosecutor in the case of the three judges' Haywood is trying, she has developed a marked antipathy for Americans and their "absurd" insistance that the average German could have had any complicity or knowledge of what the Third Reich was doing with "socially undesirables" and Jews. Dietrich gives a chillingly convincing performance as a woman locked in self-denial and bitterness, and the scene in the nightclub has subtle, creeping echoes of the hatred that led to the decadence and madness of Hitler's "Final Solution".

Along with Tracy, Burt Lancaster makes this movie with his tortured performance as Dr. Ernst Janning, a former Nazi judge who, despite being a hero in his homeland before Hitler's rise to power, succumbed knowingly to the temptations and dubious benefits of the Nazi Terror. Unlike his co-defendants (one unrepentant fanatic and a coward who feigns insanity),
Janning is determined to keep his brilliant Defense Lawyer played by Maximillian Schell at bay and to acknowledge his inescapable role in the madness which swept Germany. He is a wasted, lost yet responsible man who makes one last bid for salvation through unflinching honesty.

The relationship between Haywood and Janning is symbolic in many ways--both are born to judge in the judicial sense and have done so for many years. The difference is that one maintained his sense of ethics even in the hardest of times and the other succumbed to the temptations of his horrific time period over the most basic judicial ethics and standard human compassion.

Despite the pressure of American military personnel to give these men (particularly Janning) lenient sentences because of the mistaken idea that the ongoing conflict with the Soviet Union might lead to the need for German military support (an obvious illusion in retrospect), Haywood does not waver and gives all three life imprisonment.

Unfortunately this film is not entirely historically accurate; many former Nazi Judges and doctors were acquitted during this period. The American public was apparently satisfied with the Nuremburg trials at which the figureheads of the Nazi Party were tried and hanged and wanted nothing more to do with it. After WWII, many in this country committed the understandable crime of wanting to forget, not wanting to know: history has revealed this to be the worst thing of all. All that
notwithstanding, this is an unforgettable, important, beautiful film.

5 out of 5 stars Judgment At Nuremberg - Shakespearean.......2007-08-25

This is one of the most excellent movies I have ever seen. Almost Shakesperean, it has no special effects or scenes enhanced by technology. There are no central characters, but rather a few major characters and some minor characters who dramatized some of what happend in the trials for crimes against humanity. The movie is like an excellent play making the most of limited scenery and focusing on dialogue like Shakepeare. The antagonists and protagonists are clearly defined, along with the victims, heroes, and villains as any Shakespeare play. Only the outcome is left in doubt until the last moment. (This is something Shakespeare did well with some of his dark comedies like Merchant Of Venice and Measure For Measure.)

Of the main characters: Chief Judge Dan Haywood (Spencer Tracy) is impartial and open minded, but behind the bench, he begins to voice his aggreement with the earnest prosecutor Col. Tad Lawson (Richard Widmark). Of the other two judges with Dan Haywood, one is opposed to convicting the defendents. Another, whose weak part is the only flaw in the movie, seems indifferent, ready to go either way until he sides with Haywood with no explanation given. Doctor Ernst Janning (Burt Lancaster) refuses to recognize the legitimacy of the trial until the lead defense lawyer Hans Rolfe (Maximillian Schell) in examining (interogating?) the witnesses for the prosecution seems to retry the cases of Rudolf Petersen (Montgomery Clift) and Irene Hofman Wallner (Judy Garland). Schell's Rolfe comes across as especially evil - like a neo Nazi trying to justify the Third Reich in all its bloody terror. Hans Rolfe soon has Irene Hoffman Wallner in tears and is yelled at by Ernst Janning, briefly stopping the trial.

The character of Ernst Janning grows through out the trial from refusing to recognize his crime to accepting his guilt of participation in the horrors. After seeing Irene Hoffman brought to tears, He gives a statement where he reproaches his lawyer and then chides his fellow defendants for the outrages he and they were well aware of and participated in. He explains why and how he and most Germans came to embrace Hitler for a better Germany, thinking they would soon be rid of him, only to learn they were condemned. Ernst Janning realizes the horrors of his crimes and is contrite. He believes the only way for Germany and Germans to heal is to accept complicity in the Nazi atrocities. For this he is called a traitor.

Needless to say, the acting of all the characters is excellent and all deserved academy awards. The parts of Montgomery Cliff and Judy Garland were especially heart rendering. I only wish their two characters had been given more time on screen. However if "Brevity is the soul of wit," as Shakespeare said in Hamlet, then the brief moments of the two actors were appropriate.

5 out of 5 stars REAL REENACTMENT.......2007-07-09

I RECENTLY HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT NUREMBURG AND THE EXACT COURTROOM WHERE THE TRIAL HAD BEEN HELD. OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE SEVERAL VERSIONS OF WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE TRIAL, BUT THE MOVIE WAS A GOOD REENACTMENT OF THE PROCEEDINGS. IT'S AN EERIE FEELING HAVING SEEN THE MOVIE, AND THE REAL PLACE FOR SUCH A TREMENDOUS EVENT.

5 out of 5 stars Judgment at Nuremberg.......2007-06-27

Long but brilliant, "Judgment" was a box-office sensation, due to director Kramer's sensitive, socially conscious approach, which examines the degree to which people should be held responsible for following orders. The movie includes a host of sterling performances: Schell stands out as the impassioned defense attorney (the part netted him an Oscar), as do Montgomery Clift and Judy Garland, whose tragic characters poignantly mirror the consuming sadness in their real lives. "Judgment" is an absorbing, true-to-life reckoning with the infamous Nazi legacy and the nature of modern justice.

5 out of 5 stars Very Scary!.......2007-07-26

I had nightmares for a month after watching this movie. It was very good. I have to admit that everytime I see Denis Leary, I think about how evil he was in this movie. The environment felt so real it was terrifying!

4 out of 5 stars Suspense all the way.......2007-05-09

I always loved this classic because it gives the viewer an inside view to what really does happen on the streets of Americas most dangerous cities.

4 out of 5 stars Judgement Night.......2007-05-07

A chilling film. Well done; the late-night inner-city environment is scary. I recommend this disc!

5 out of 5 stars Judgement Night.......2007-03-12

I love this movie and have rented it many times hence the reason I purchased the movie. The Cat & mouse chase is brillient and the actors are also great. However I could not view this purchased movie as it is not the same region as Australia. Therefore I won't be purchasing any more movies from this website.

4 out of 5 stars You be the judge.......2006-10-15

Dont buy this if you haven't already seen it. Rent it first and then buy it if you like it. So if you have seen it you have probably made up your mind if you are going to add this collection or not already. But here is my 10 cents worth anyway.
The reason I ever saw this movie in the first place was for two reasons. a)the soundtrack which featured the top heavy metal and hip hop acts around at the time and fused them together. And b)Denis Leary, who I liked as a stand up comic and was curious to see him acting in a serious role playing your typical "bad guy" role.
I wasn't disappointed in either case. The music provides a great backdrop to the mood of the whole movie. And Denis was great in the role of Fallon, a drug-dealing no-nonsense bad guy in control of a whole neighbourhood.
So I didn't hesitate to buy this when it was finally released on DVD. It was a good movie back in its day and still is today in my opinion. The all star cast is a bonus as well, although I am not a particular fan of Jeremy Piven, he was quite good in this role. Peter Greene is once again very appealing in his bad guy role as Fallons right hand man.
It definitely wasn't Emilio Esteves' best movie and I think Cuba Gooding Jnr was out of place as his best friend, but still a worthwhile purchase for any fans of theirs.
Special features include a trailer and that's it. Would have been good to get a commentary from the director but overall I give it 3.5 stars and Ill round that up to 4.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting Courtroom Drama.......2007-01-06

Usually I can't stand films from Cloud Ten Pictures,as I have tried 3 times to watch the ridiculous Left Behind(but I loved the 12 book series),and the acting is so bad and the hokey idea of the raptured people's clothes being neatly folded without a wrinkle, like just back from the cleaners, kills me!

This movie grabbed me from the begining and kept me absorbed through the end, plus I really was interested in all the characters, good and bad.The trial was great as well. So if you have been as disappointed with Cloud Ten pictures as I have,do yourself a favor and give Judgement a try.I believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

5 out of 5 stars " ... and Mr. T -- a kind of Christian B. A. Barracus." -- KFAV Radio.......2006-10-07

Your Honor, I have only one argument to make in defense of this movie:

Mr. T is da bomb.

\o/

'Cuz yeah, it's a low-budget flick & all, with all the probs inherent in such an animal, but, then again, there IS the colorful cast of characters to consider & none is more colorfuller than Mr. T -- dontcha know?

I beg pardon? Oh yeah. Colorfuller. Um ... I just made that word up, Your Honor, because I'm trying to express how Mr. T made -- I said MADE -- this movie for me ... Ya dig?

3 out of 5 stars Good movie, but for a Christian film, it has false teachings.......2006-07-29

I thought the movie had a good storyline, and the actors did their jobs well (although Mr. T had a stereotypical Mr. T performance).

The one thing that really puzzles me is this : The movie claims to be a Christian film, however Mitch (played by Corbin Bernsen) wears a fake mark of the beast on his right hand, and he comes out in the movie as the "hero". The Bible clearly states that anybody who takes the mark of the beast will go to Hell. My belief is that in God's eyes, wearing a fake mark of the beast would be no different than wearing the real thing.

Plus, there are some continuity errors in this film as it relates to the whole "Apocalypse" series. In the 2nd film ("Revelations") and 3rd film ("Tribulation"), the mark of the beast is presented as a 666 burnt into people's hands by Franco Macalousso by way of the "image of the beast" virtual reality helmet (thankfully the hokey VR helmet concept did not make it to "Judgement"). In "Judgement", the mark is represented as a different design.

The film is entertaining, but I find the whole "hero who has a fake mark of the beast is still a hero at the end" angle to be rather unsettling.

2 out of 5 stars not very good.......2006-02-19

Poor introduction and background. Low-budget film that has few locations. Mr. T can't act unless it is humorous. The lawyers acted well. The story just wasn't very good.

2 out of 5 stars Just wished it wasn't the last.......2006-02-06

Comparing this movie to the previous three APOCALYPSE series movies, this one seemed to drag its heels like the court case. Jessica Steen made Victoria Thorne a really unlikeable character that you wished you could see her final fate as a lawyer who sold herself to the devil. (Of course, if you have the DVD, you could see one of the deleted scenes where Franco Maccalusso does send her and the judge, though both of them barely seen, to their final fates -- a scene I wish could have been in the main cut.) Corben Bernsen's character struggles under both hiding out as a uncommitted person bearing a fake "mark of the beast" to avoid death on either side of the battle of the ages, and with the manipulation he seems to be getting from both his former lover and the various One World Nation agents that he comes across throughout the whole thing. Mr. T's character is basically Mr. T sounding like he's trying to do evangelism in his typical B.A. Barracas style of personality. Overall, it's too bad that this had to be the last movie of the series, leaving things that started out in Apocalypse eternally unresolved -- imagine the LEFT BEHIND series never reaching the 12th book Glorious Appearing to get the idea.

5 out of 5 stars WWE: where the big boys play.......2007-08-08

WCW coined the phrase back in the early to late 90's but WWE still uses it to this day. TNA has smaller wrestlers but WWE has the biggest. Khali and Big Daddy V are the two that come to mind. Hell I bet if Khali or Big Daddy V was let go by WWE, TNA would pick them up and give the former WWE treatment. Meaning a one month or less reign of the TNA world title.

2 out of 5 stars Welcome Everyone To Sunday Night RAW!!!!.......2007-07-13

Overall, this PPV came off like a 3 hour edition of RAW or SmackDown where most the major matches were either turned into angles (HBK/Orton & ECW Title match) or were just watchable (Cena/Khali & Edge/Batista). This event looked good on paper but didn't live up to the hype whatsoever.

Ric Flair vs. Carlito - This opener did it's job in getting the crowd crazy as St. Louis usually always goes crazy for Ric Flair. Carlito mostly did a mat-based style along with working on Flair's arm throughout of the match. This was a good opener.

ECW Champion Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon, Umaga vs. Bobby Lashley - I didn't know Goldberg was black? Seriously, this match was a carbon copy of an old Goldberg match from WCW. Lashley ran though Shane & Umaga in around a minute while Vince kept avoiding Lashley. And Vince kept the title since he wasn't the one who was defeated. They wasted so much on television for weeks for this match & this was the result? Save this crap for RAW or ECW, not for a show people pay around $40 for.

C.M. Punk vs. Elijah Burke - This match was very similar to the opening match in that it went around the same amount of time & Elijah worked on an injured body part thoughout various times of the match which in this case, it's Punk's heavily taped ribs. The match itself was slow at times to the point where the crowd was chanting for "J.B.L." at one moment. It was a good undercard match with nothing really noteworthy except for Punk perfectly selling his ribs throughout the bout.

Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton - Randy Orton came back to his hometown in another "match" that turned into a segment that should have been saved for RAW instead of a PAY-per-view. Earlier in the night, Orton attacked HBK during an interview adding to the concussion he got from Khali two weeks earlier. This was just Orton attacking HBK's head for around 5 minutes with a DDT & constant stomps to the head with HBK's only offense being his elbow drop from the top before his body gave out on him. The match got stopped with HBK taking an RKO afterwards. Just like the ECW title match, this should have been saved for RAW instead of a PPV because people don't pay to see glorified squash matches.

World Tag Team Champions The Hardys vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdock - A rematch from Backlash with J.B.L. & Michael Cole calling the match for some reason (since Matt's the only one on SmackDown). This tag match & storyline itself was very similar ot the Eddie Guerrero/Batista one from back in 2005 where the heels were trying to play by the rules & not cheat. It was a good tag team match but to me, was a step down from their Backlash match the previous month. Besides seeing Trevor Murdock pull off the Canadian Destroyer, there really wasn't anything memorable here eventhough it was a solid contest. This was the match of the night for me.

World Champion Edge vs. Batista - The match went around 10 mins. and it was a watchable match. It came off to me as Batista doing exactly what he was doing at the Royal Rumble, just looking to get his spots while doing a poor job (compared to Flair & Punk earlier in the night) of selling his injury. Edge as usual did work hard here but he's not Triple H & he's not Undertaker so we can't expect him to pull out that type of performance from Batista. Again, the match is watchable but in no ways worth of being a "World Championship" match.

2 out of 3 Falls Match: United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. MVP - This match was my least favorite out of their 4 match series but their worst match together is still better than most of the card here. Benoit sold his leg better than anyone else sold their injuries in the night with MVP targeting it thoughout the match. It was a shock that MVP beat Benoit two straight CLEAN falls but Benoit did his job in this fued & elevate MVP & give him more credibilty as a performer.

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Great Khali - Cena was put into a no win situation here by trying to have an entertaining match with a wrestler who not even a man who nobody, not even veterans like Undertaker or Kane, can make look good...to the point where his match with Undertaker was taken off SummerSlam so it could be heavily edited to be watchable on SmackDown. Cena was a spotmonkey non-stop by selling & falling to make Khali look like a monster while Khali did his usual punch/kick/repeat offense. Cena again was put into a no-win situation & made the best of it. The story here was for Cena to beat an unstoppable monster & the match served that purpose (ala Hogan vs. Bundy/Andre/Earthquake back in the 80's). Bad match but again, it was a no-win situation & Cena did win again but he was the lesser of two evils in this situation.

DVD extras include a post-match interview with Randy Orton, MVP celebrating in Teddy Long's office, and the whole story behind the CM Punk/Elijah Burke fued.

The undercard here stole the show but there wasn't much of a show to steal here & this is one event that is passable and I only recommend this for a rental at best.

2 out of 5 stars Pretty much a JD pattern. .......2007-07-09

1. Carlito vs Ric Flair *** 1/4 - Their best encounter yet. Very hot opener and the crowd was into it. Carlito did a great job in there.

2. Lashley vs Team MaMahon N/A - Too short but as a segment, it's pretty entertaining.

3. CM Punk vs Elijah Burke *** 1/2 MOTN - These guys went out there and gave it all. They showcased their talent and I believe had the most time.

4. HBK vs Randy Orton N/A - Nothing happen here. They should've had Orton win though to get him more over.

5. The Hardy Boyz vs Cade & Murdoch *** 1/4 - C & M has gotten better. Very good match.

6. Edge vs Batista *** - I'm being a bit nice here. Just mediocre.

7. MVP vs Benoit *** - Not least good match. It's stupid to have a 15 minute 2/3 Falls match. The crowd were dead also. Nice counter-wrestling as usual though.

8. John Cena vs The Great Khali ** 1/4 - Khali. 'Nuff said.

Overall worth a pass of course, had a nice set of match but just mediocre.

3 out of 5 stars The wrong wrestlers are being pushed and this ppv is proof.......2007-06-21

Having Ric Flair open up a ppv to me is just disrespectful. This opening match to me was better than the main event and way better than the handicap match. Also mostly clean wins, even for the heels.

Ric Flair vs. Carlito. They got a good amount time to put on a very good opener. Even at his age Flair can always get the crowd pumped. This man deserves another Heavyweight Title run in my opinion. And Carlito is sticking with ground base wrestling which is a good thing to me. The high flying style just doesn't fit him. 4/5

3 on 1 handicap match.
Mcmahons and Umaga vs. Lashley
The only reason I dont truly hate this match is because its short. Lashley is just garbage and thats all it is to it. What I hate the most is how Umaga is being used now. He went from the unstoppable, undefeated monster, with victories over Flair, Triple H, Michaels, and Kane. To a mere jobber for a newcomer and Lashley's whooping boy. It seems he cant even beat Lashley without the Mcmahons in his corner. P*sspoor match, graced with a quick ending. 2/5 and the biggest low point of the whole ppv.

CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke
A pretty decent match but I expected more from these two. It was a bit too long and seemed to drag. Even at times the crowd wasn't even in to it. 3/5

Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton
These two have had better. But this wasn't even a match. Randy jumped Michaels earlier. Plus Michaels was selling his concussion that he got a week ago to the fullest. The match was fast as he**. That RKO at the end was murder though. 3/5

The Hardy's vs Cade and Murdoch
Once again the Hardy's deliver but this match is kind of weak next to other matches. Cade and Murdoch in my opinion are underrated. I've enjoyed most of their tag team matches. The only thing I'm not feeling is Murdoch trying to pull off the Canadian Destroyer. Please let Petey Williams execute his own move thank you. Still a pretty solid match. 3/5

Edge vs. Batista

Why is Batista still getting title shots every ppv?! I can think of anyone who can match Edge's style in the ring and have spectacular matches. This match was mediocre at best and could have easily been on Smackdown. Nothing special here at all. 2.5/5

Chris Benoit vs. MVP 2 out of 3 falls
This match saved my life. It fell very short from their previous matches. Especially the one they had at Wrestlemania. Still it was pretty good and they blended very well together. Lots of counters and submissions were utilized. For me, this was the match of the night. 4/5

Cena vs. Khali
What the he11 is Khali doing main eventing?! My god if it wasn't for the length of this match, I don't think I could have watched this all the way through. The only high point was Cena's resourcefullness to chop down The Great Khali using the ring steps. Otherwise, nothing too special about this match either. 2.5/5.

This ppv was a step down from the last one. And this is proof the wrong guys is being pushed. Hopefully the wwe bookers step their game up.

2 out of 5 stars Judgment Day 2007 Dissappoints.......2007-06-06
