Snoooooooooooze........2006-11-01
Huh, what?! Forgive me, I must have fallen asleep during the badly written "horror" film with no comedic, dramatic, or scare factors to it. A cornfield near a beach? Two characters that have premarital sex end up living?! Please don't waste your time: breaking horror film rules, no true death scenes, and annoying footage of "friends" hiding secrets and yelling at each other in soap opera genre. BORING!!!!!

Hilfrigginarious.......2006-05-14
lighting: the campus and the 'trauma center' must have been part of the CA rolling blackout program. But the center of a cornfield? Lit up like surface of the sun. In explicable items: Can a diabetic be kept off a college baseball team? Contact the ACLU! Cornfields w/in walking distance of the beach? KC Royals fans? The kids were constantly walking one direction on the beach when they left the group, then when they were shown solo they were clearly walking in a different direction. The beach guitar solo wins the award for Worst Musical Dubbing Since Pa Ingalls Played the Fiddle. Worst-figured ladies being the only ones removing their shirts (one built like a 13 year old girl, one 50+ w/ ridiculous fakies, c'mon girl in blue bikini! Show em off!). Finally, a) showing the girl clearly bounce off the windshield of the white truck; b) leaving her dead body in the middle of the road to be completely flattened by the next semi that happens by; and c) showing the truck back at the hospital w/ blood on the left front headlight.
Yet somehow I managed to stay awake from 1-2:30 am to watch it all. I agree w/ other reviewers...so bad it was entertaining
Paleeeeeeeze!!!!!!!!!.......2006-02-26
After seeing Scarecrow Slayer and liking it, I bought this movie without renting it first. It looked like it might be a good sequel. WRONG!!!! This is a terrible movie!! First of all, the casting and acting is terrible. Ken Shamrock better stick to what he does best because acting is not it! What a terrible actor! He plays a coach of some college kids who decide to head to the beach for a spring break. Before going, they tie a poor diabetic guy to the scarecrow as part of some kind of joke. This brings the scarecrow back to life. The boy is later discovered by a friend who stayed behind. He finds him very sick and brings him to the local hospital. Meanwhile, the kids are at the beach. In this movie, the scarecrow whistles and when you hear this silly whistle, you know that someone is about to be killed. This movie has few killing scenes and is just plain boring and silly. For anyone who did not like Scarecrow Slayer, please do not waste your time or money on even renting this cheap movie.
Awful? Absolutely. Campy fun? Absolutely.......2005-11-02
What's with all the negative reviews of this film? This is a movie that is so unabashedly terrible that I can't help but like it. I rarely speak of such hallowed territory, but this movie reaches the "so bad that it's good" plateau. With lines like Character A: Be careful? Character B: It's okay I know this place like the back of my hand Character A: No I mean there's a homicidal scarecrow out there! What's not to like? The ridiculous plot? The wooden acting by Ken Shamrock? The ending which completely rips off the Exorcist? The insipid dialogue which was clearly written by a guy who has no idea how women talk? The token black guy who says token black guyisms? The fact that you can see the scarecrow's mask flapping up often?
Never have I enjoyed a movie which is so bad so much. Look in this era of bloated self-important films which run far longer than they should, why can't we appreciate a silly little horror film with gratuitous nudity and cornfields 5 minutes away from an ocean beach? **1/2 / 4
i liked it.......2005-09-17
myself, i liked the movie, there was some spots where they talked too quiet, some fight scenes that didnt look real, but aside from that it was good, i mean college kids getting killed? who wouldnt like that? i love slasher movies, as well as these new psychological horrors too, but i growed up on slashers and still love em, the bloodier the better. this movie could of had more blood in it and gorier death scenes.i enjoyed the twist at the end. if given the chance, id see the first 2 scarecrow movies as well. and if a 4th is made id see it too. im glad slasher movies are still being made for those of us that still like em.

Epic.......2002-11-07
Historically tennis movies have been terrible. The Break is fantastic. If your a serious tennis player then this has to be your all-time favoirte movie.
THE BEST MOVIE IVE EVER SEEN!.......2002-01-31
The Break is not only motivational, but full of comdey as well. Its a well rounded film that I'll never get sick of. I highly recomend this item to anyone out there who likes not only tennis, but to see an underdog come through and his bumpy road to becoming the best.
"Two thumbs up" for The Break.......2002-01-19
The caricaturizing of the pro tennis minor leagues in The Break is very funny and educating. Vince VanPatton does a great job of showing behind the scene situations that one would not know about unless they played on the pro satelite circuit themselves.
Terrific.......1999-04-01
It was great. AAAA++++
The Best tennis movie ever........1999-03-27
If you like tennis, this is going to be one of, if not your favorite movie.

A rare find!.......2005-11-20
I heard about this movie many years ago, my friend living in a college town saw it at an art type movie theater. I finally found it on Amazon and I am so glad I did! This movie is a moving story of Pedro Hernandez, a Mexican immigrant who can count inventing the car radio as one of his many accomplishments. He fought against a racist and evil system that cost him many years of his life in prison. I absolutely recommend this movie to anyone interested in unknown history and especially those who are interested in Mexican American culture.
