How's this for impressive trivia: Dodgeball faced off against The Terminal in opening-weekend competition, and 29-year-old writer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber aced Steven Spielberg by a score of $30 to $18.7 in box-office millions. That's no mean feat for a newcomer, but Thurber's lowbrow script and rapid-fire direction--along with a sublime cast of screen comedians--proved to be just what moviegoers were ravenous for: a consistently hilarious, patently formulaic romp in which the underdog owner of Average Joe's Gym (Vince Vaughan) faces foreclosure unless he can raise $50,000 in 30 days. The solution: A dodgeball tournament offering $50K to the winners, in which Vaughan and his nerdy clientele team up against the preening, abhorrently narcissistic owner (Ben Stiller) of Globo Gym, who's threatening a buy-out. This movie makes me laugh for a different reason every time I watch it. I enjoy the supporting characters the most. They are each interesting and wildly funny. I guarantee that you will laugh.

I saw This movie and I liked it. So When The PSP version comes out, I will be first to get it. I've heard that some psp movies are very dark even when the brightness setting is all the way up. I hope this movie looks just like the one on dvd. pick it up when it comes out!!!!!!
Not Just a Dodgeball Movie, A Landmark Film.......2005-04-15
This movie is one of the greatest sports movies ever. I liked the part where Patches (Rip Torn) hits Justin (Justin Long) with a wrench. I even liked the ESPN part where they showed crazy sports like Riding Mower Racing and playing Soccer with a soccerball on fire, and I thought that Black Dodgeball Team was funny (even though it was a little bit racist), but you know, I wanted to see the team called the M.I.L.F (Mom I'd Like to F*** You Know What I Mean) Dodgeball Team, because it reminded me of this team called the Mermaid Force in a comic book called Harlem Beat where they seduce their opponents in basketball. I think Vince Vaughn would make a great nomination for "Best Male Performance," "Best On-Screen Team" with the Average Joes and "Best Kiss" with Christine Taylor, and Ben Stiller would make "Best Villian," and "Best Comedic Performance," at this years 2005 MTV Movie Awards. I give this a 10 out of 10. By the way, this isn't just a dodgeball movie, it's a landmark film.

Anything With Ian McShane.......2007-05-18
I'm a rabid Ian McShane fan and I watch any and everything with him in it. As far as Nemesis Game is concerned, Ian is good, he looks great and I wish he had a bigger role. I don't care about anything else in regards to this movie---just Ian McShane.

I'm with the reviewer who asked, "What did I just watch?" To which I might add, "And why did I keep watching it?" This murky thriller wannabe left me unmoved and a little bored. By the time of the ending to which so many people object, I was glad to have it over, however it ended. Ian McShane, the best thing in it, was capable as the police superintendent but could not make it interesting in the face of zombie-like performances from Adrian Paul and the female lead, whose name escapes me, and a bizantine plot played out almost entirely in what appeared to be incredibly dark subway stations and other dismal settings. It makes me yearn for the return of "Deadwood".

Oozing in pretentious atmosphere; riddled with a nearly unfathomable plot; and acted with little intensity or credibility, NEMESIS GAME is an empty, meaningless thriller. Carly Pope (First to Die) plays a young girl whose mother was killed in an auto accident; Adrian Paul phones in a performance as a fellow game player with a repulsive tattoo; and Brendan Fehr sneaks in for a small but pivotal role as a spacy game player. Despite some of the clever riddles, the movie makes little if any sense, and the wonderful character actor Ian McShane is wasted in the role of Sara's father, a policeman.
An interesting premise but I hate movies where everything is so ambiguous, you get no payoff. If that's the "design" of life, we're in big trouble.

It beat my expectations I can say that much. Actually I thought it was really good while I was watching it, I was very interested in the story line and how it would end. BUT unfortunately they go ahead and ruin it with basically no ending. You are left with too many questions. It just leaves you hanging, which would be fine if they were planning on making a sequel, but we know thats not happening. So I have it at 3 stars, I took a star off because of the ending.

About the silliest thing ever.......2007-06-06
Somehow, they've taken all the idioms of the kung fu genre: the struggling students, the secret masters, the hidden rivalries, gang lords, and good triumphant in the end. Then, all that is grafted onto some kind of parlor game, as complex as bridge but played with elaborate dominoes.
The result is the perfect kung fu movie, minus the fights, choreography, scenery, sets, action, and plot, but with overacting to compensate.
But I mean that in a nice way - I think.

I watched the first one and it was hilarious. So of course I had to see the sequel. I must say the second one is a bit more down to earth and believable. Unlike the first one which took more after Kung Fu Hustle. If you play MJ or are related to someone who plays, you will love this movie. If you don't play or ever plan on playing, you might not think much of this movie. Most likely if you're reading this review, you are a fan. So go see this movie.
