Whoa, slow down!!.......2007-09-08
I am a beginner at pilates, but even so, the first thing I learned was that getting the moves right is far more important than going fast through them. Either I can take my time and do it correctly, or I can be sloppy to keep up with Denise and possibly hurt myself. Also, many of the poses appear to be intermediate or advanced level, and I haven't gotten that far yet in my beginners Pilates. I don't feel comfortable taking instruction from Denise in how to do those, because I don't want to learn to do them wrong. Also, she does the hundred, the basic beginner move, differently than I learned, and I'm wondering how much she modifies the other poses.
This may be a good video for intermediate/advanced people who are looking for something a little different. I will probably appreciate it more when I get to that level. Or maybe not. I'm wondering how much of the instruction is truly Pilates, and how much is just toning with a Pilates flavor.
I really like Denise's instruction for my cardio exercises, and I think that her talents are better suited for faster paced workouts than for something that requires patience and precision.
Denise Austin's Pilates.......2007-09-07
This is a great work out. It definitely hits the spots that need work and the best part is there is no extra equipment required.
perfect for me!.......2007-07-29
I love that I can choose the workout right for me. They are quick and make you feel great. I have many workout DVD's, but this one is the best by far.
10 - 30 lbs.......2007-07-22
For those of 'us' who want to loose a cool 10 - 30 lbs and have found the few pilates DVD's they already own beginning to be a little boring and stagnant, this is definitely a great workout to add to the repetoire! I speak whole heartedly when I ask you to disregard the critics who call this video out in a negative manner. For one, I have never had a workout that actually calls out to my 'hips' as its own segment...amazing! This workout will make you sore in every muscle fiber of your upper and lower body on a consistent basis even if you are strong and can handle yoga in a hot room! Spend the money, it is worth it!
Great Way To Mix Up A Routine!.......2007-07-17
As an avid runner and weight lifter, I always scoffed at friends who praised Pilates so endlessly. 'Stretching' didn't seem like true exercise! I was wrong! While, I still believe STRONGLY that cardio is totally necessary for ones body, I found that this dvd offered a relaxing, yet challenging workout, that I look forward to doing 3 times a week. I have been running 6 days a week and lifting weights 3 days a week for years. Wanting and needing some kind of change, I took the advice of my personal trainer and began Pilates. --specifically "Hit the Spot Pilates". Now, I run and weight lift 3 days a week and do Pilates 3 days a week. My body looks great and more importantly, I feel fantastic! It's a work out that I look forward to doing!
Having never done them before, I was fairly sloppy the first couple of times, trying to figure out the positions as she was demonstrating them. --she does move fairly quickly without much instruction. A few times of participating and I could transition easily though.

"There IS a great bell in the heart of the Rock..." (early review).......2007-08-09
- POSTED: AUGUST 18, 2007 -
After the great success of the first two seasons on DVD, Fraggle fans are very excited to see HIT Entertainment's commitment to this legendary series carry on.
The third, penultimate season of Fraggle Rock continues with the wonderful stories, performances, music and magic that made the series a landmark in children's television. Many unforgettable episodes are found in the third season, including "The Secret Society of Poobahs," "Gobo's School for Explorers," "Scared Silly," "Born to Wander," "Playing Till It Hurts," "Gunge the Great and Glorious," "Sprocket's Big Adventure" and "Wembley's Wonderful Whoopie Water." And it all starts off with the beautiful Christmas episode "The Bells of Fraggle Rock."
Aside from all 24 outstanding episodes, we will again be treated to a satisfying bonus disc full of all-new material. For the third time, the cast and crew of Fraggle Rock will provide us with new interviews detailing their experiences working on the show. New interviewees include workshop supervisor Tim Miller, series designer Michael K. Frith and puppeteer Kathy Mullen (Mokey Fraggle and Cotterpin Doozer). Individual features include "Under Construction," "The Puppet Collection," "The Hall of Fame," "The Hall of Fraggles," "The Fraggleterium" and "Fraggle Gardens." Also for the third time, we are presented with a marvelous facsimile of production work: included is a compilation of more than 50 of Michael K. Frith's original artwork sketches. The delightful packaging from the first two seasons (a full colored, glossy, embossed "book-style" box with turning pages) should also continue for this set.
HIT Entertainment's fantastic treatment of this series has been received with praise and joy from fans everywhere and no doubt continues in this third installment. With only the fourth season left to be issued on DVD (most likely in 2008) and with a new 3-CD box set of Fraggle music planned to release conjunctionally with this DVD collection in the fall, never has there been a better time to be a fan of one of Jim Henson's greatest and most beloved works. Amazon.com essential video
Far superior to any previous home-video version, the huge deluxe edition of Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii captures over four hours of footage from the King's historic televised concert from January 1973. The main concert is presented in its entirety for the first time since its original worldwide satellite telecast, and reedited to remove the now-dated split-screen "montage" look. But that's not all--as a prelude to the concert, the first disc includes 17 uncut minutes of the "Elvis arrives" footage (only 2 minutes of which appears in the concert film) followed by the complete rehearsal concert that took place two days before the telecast. This rehearsal, which was released separately on video as The Alternate Aloha Concert, is rougher than the official show, but more relaxed and often more satisfying musically.
Leading off disc 2 is footage of five songs ("Blue Hawaii," "Ku-U-I-Po," "No More," "Hawaiian Wedding Song," and "Early Morning Rain"), including multiple takes, recorded after the performance, four of which ("No More" was the exception) were incorporated into the American television special that was shown a few months after the live telecast. Those four songs are not included in the uncut version of the concert on disc 1, but the original version of the American television special is also on disc 2 so you can watch the concert the way you've always watched it for the sake of nostalgia, or you can compare it to all the other pieces you've seen and decide which you like better. Either way, Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii is an embarrassment of riches that's rivaled only by its companion release, the three-disc deluxe edition of Elvis's '68 Comeback Special. --David Horiuchi

The best Elvis performance. Get leid!.......2007-09-16
The performance is classic with some of the best rockin roll songs. Iconic Elvis. He even busts out the karate moves. My favorite song is Hunka-hunka Burnin Love.
Elvis in Hawaii is great...............2007-09-14
With the 30 year anniversary of Elvis' death recently, I fell back in love with Elvis's music. The Hawaii concert is my favorite. I played in a band in the seventies and performed many of the songs that are on this DVD. It brings back many fond memories. I enjoy Elvis' voice in his later years than earlier. He had an unbelievable voice that has not been matched before or since. A voice rangeing 3 octives is extraordinary. He may have made it shaking and dancing in the 50's but his voice on this DVD in the 70's was much better. He had a great band. You will not regret buying this DVD. I miss him more now than I did 30 years ago.
Elvis was the real deal.......2007-08-24
As a certified 100% Percent Elvis Fan and Graceland visitor I can say with out a doubt. When you see a concert like this I can say ELVIS IS NOT DEAD!! He lives in our hearts. He's the man.
One Of The Most Important Moment of The Music.......2007-08-10
A great show to celebrate the music and the person of a man who bring his own image and the incomparable voice to another degree on the world music... And still hard to believe that Elvis Presley never went to others countries...
About this version, what can I say? It's a really great stuff to collect! On the first disc you will find two shows that happened on Hawaii plus, a short video when Elvis arrived at the Island... On the second disc, another version of the main show but with some changes made by the television broadcast.. All this stuff in a pretty package...
Don't think... You have to buy It!
Elvis Aloha From Hawaii.......2007-04-12
It is a complete package (original TV broadcast version, and unedited version of that same show, and the "dress rehearsal" show that preceded it. Take your choice, they are all here. A must for any Elvis fan.

Thirty songs, spread out over two discs and well over two and a half hours, with fine performances, great sound, and good visual direction: it's all here on Farewell 1 Tour, a documentary of the Eagles' 2004 concert in Melbourne, Australia. At one point, the veteran band seemed unlikely to even make it to the new millennium, but here they are, mostly intact, with a string of hits dating back more than three decades. The majority of them are performed here, from the earliest ("Take It Easy," "Desperado," "Peaceful Easy Feeling") through "Hotel California" and "Life in the Fast Lane" and right up to "Love Will Keep Us Alive" (from Hell Freezes Over, their most recent recording with new material on it); there are also hits from Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Joe Walsh's solo careers, and a few new songs as well, including Walsh's "One Day at a Time" (an earnest ode to his new-found sobriety) and "Hole in the World," Frey and Henley's moving, almost gospel-tinged reaction to the events of 9/11/01. Guitarist Don Felder, who split acrimoniously with the band in 2001, isn't much missed, as replacement Steuart Smith plays the parts just as Felder did--i.e., pretty much exactly as they were recorded (indeed, pristine recreations of the studio versions of their songs has always been a hallmark of the Eagles' live shows). As for the somewhat cheeky title, well, there's always been a certain smugness to the Eagles' sense of humor, and it's no different this time, as Frey doesn't even pretend that there won't be a Farewell 2 Tour in the future. And why not? These are good songs, played beautifully by the quartet (plus supplemental musicians) to audiences that love them. Bonus material is limited to perfunctory interviews with the band. --Sam Graham
Description
Without doubt, the Eagles are one of the all-time biggest acts in popular music since the dawn of the rock'n'roll era. The band's roots go back to their role as defining artists in the phenomenally popular Southern California rock scene of the '70s, a decade in which they delivered four consecutive #1 albums. Their momentous 2004 farewell tour filled stadiums around the world, and this 2-DVD set captures one of the most stellar events from that now-historic global sweep. Track Listings: Disc 1: Long Run, New Kid in Town, Wasted Time, Peaceful Easy Feeling, I Can't Tell You Why, One of These Nights, One Day At A Time (New Track), Lyin' Eyes, Boys of Summer, In The City, Already Gone, Tequila Sunrise, Love Will Keep Us Alive, No More Cloudy Days (New Track), Hole In the World, Take It To the Limit, Disc 2: You Belong to the City, Walk Away, Sunset Grill, Life's Been Good, Dirty Laundry, Funk #49, Heartache Tonight, Life in the Fast Lane, Hotel California, Rocky Mountain Way, All She Wants To Do Is Dance, Take It Easy, Desperado

Great music.......2007-09-09
I had great seats at the tour when it came back to America and the show is just as I remember it. The musicianship is great as always, and the video does a good job of putting you in the theater with the group. Almost every song from the Eagles you would expect is here along with solo hits and Joe Walsh is terrific. A must buy!
Induces chills & great memories.......2007-09-01
I can't add much to what everybody else has said. Beautifully performed and recorded. You can't find a better DTS sound-track. I wish that Don Felder had never left the band, but new (session?) guitarist Stuart Smith has got Don's licks down perfectly. It is also cool to see Al Garth is still at it on sex[sax] and violence[violins]. Now, if Jackson Browne would put out a concert DVD with a full band including David Lindley and Little Feat would release a DVD of "Waiting for Columbus", I can die happily in my recliner.
FRICKIN' GOOD!.......2007-08-29
These guys are so frickin' good! Hundreds of years from now, people are still going to be saying the same thing! Heck, even martians in other galaxies are going to be saying it!
Great Entertainment - Great Music!!!.......2007-08-23
This is an outstanding music video - it has all of their hits and has you singing along.....highly recommended!
If you can't go to an Eagles concert, watch this DVD!.......2007-08-02
This is probably one of the BEST concert DVDs I have had the pleasure of watching.
I have been an Eagles fan for a long time and, unfortunately, have NEVER seen them live. This DVD, filmed in Melbourne, Australia, is the next best thing to being there.
The sound and picture quality are both excellent. Each member of the band, including the horn section and backup players, had their moment to shine.
Now for the Eagles themselves. Those guys have only gotten BETTER with age. Their harmonies are just about the most perfect I have ever heard. Each one of them gets to sing lead and do some of their solo works (Henley's "Boys of Summer" is fantastic). Joe Walsh, the court jester of rock and roll, seems to be having the time of his life and brings a refreshing amount of comic relief to the band without overdoing it. It's obvious that these guys have long since gotten over their differences and now enjoy a level of chemistry that is far beyond what they had ever had in the past.
The concert is full-length and sports some pretty good extras featuring back stage moments and interviews with the band.
Of particular note is the NEW Frey-penned song "No More Cloudy Days". What a great song! Hopefully, it will be on the next Eagles album (when the heck is it being released already?????).
Eagles fans will not be disappointed.
WELL worth the money!

Customer Reviews:
Only good if you're super short on time :-l.......2007-08-23
Being realistic, there isn't any chance of any big benefit of this dvd if you only do one five minute routine. You have to put at least two - three workouts together to be of any use. Having said that, this is OK to put at the end of another workout you do, or after going for a long walk or swim or something. Each segment targets a particular trouble spot you might have like arms, chest, shoulders or back for example. You can choose to do any portion in any order. She uses regular kinds of moves to get the job done, and if you put them all together, then this isn't too bad of a workout. The one other thing I can't get over is Denise being over over over enthusiastic all the time. She's way over the top and can be very distracting. I'm sure she'd motivate beginners but for more advanced exercisers, then this may not be the dvd you're looking for.
Easy to do and a workout you can fit in any time, give this a go if you're a beginner - I'm sure you'll find some benefit to it. For more advanced exercisers, steer clear and try something more challenging.

The Eagles at their best !.......2007-08-19
I would rank this Eagles DVD as one of the best classic rock/pop concerts around. The vocals are superb and the individual renditions by the group members, especially Joe Walsh make it a truely enjoyable and entertaining 2 1/2 hours.

Denise Austin - Core complete.......2007-09-16
I love Denise Austin; this is another one of her fabulous workouts. This is a great way to get a good all over body stretch and flexibility work out. The balancing with the ball becomes easier over time.
Great Work Out! One of the Best one's out their! .......2007-09-06
I love this work out!! I have a lot of Denise workout DVD's & a lot of others. I think this is her/the best one yet. I love that she works the abs in every 15 minute segment (who doesn't need the extra attention in that area!). I'm not a person that enjoys working my abs, but this tape makes it fun. There are a lot of ab exercises on here that I actually enjoy doing. I like that you're able to customize your work-out. You can do the whole workout or you can do just 1 or 2. I would highly recommend this DVD for immediate workouts. It takes a while to get on the same pace as Denise, but after you do you appreciate it. Some tapes have long pauses in between sets. I like to keep moving!
BEST ONE YET.......2007-07-06
Easy to follow and really gets "my sweat on". Easy to follow and has a lot of the same moves you use in Shrink Your Female Fat Zones DVD. Denise has it broke down into Warm up, Core & Arms, Core & Legs, Core & Buns, and an 18 minute Core Complete. The other Core sessions are 15 minutes each. I enjoy doing a combination of 2 of the core sessions.
Great Core workout!.......2007-06-27
Ok guys, for those of you who don't know Denise Austin I'll give you a heads up. She is incredibly perky and can get annoying, but she really knows what she's doing!
I pretty well have every Denise Austin video out there and snatched this one up as soon as it came out. I was not disappointed, it's a great overall workout. My only complaint (and it's a small one!) is that I like having toned arms and this video doesn't focus on the arms as much as I would like. Overall, it's a fabulous core workout and it's a bit more challenging than the "Shrink your Female Fat Zones" video it's often compared to.
Denise.......2007-06-20
This was my first Denise Austin workout video and I was annoyed with her within the first 10- seconds of the workout. I couldn't stand her voice or facial expressions, she was like a robot. Also, I did all the sections of the dvd and I found it to be ineffective as far as toning goes. I never really felt anything. I don't think I'll be using this tape again or buying another Denise Austin tape. It might be good for beginners, though. I would only recommend this to those who already own other Denise Austin tapes and aren't turned off by her excesssive encouragement or voice.

Who's on first?.......2007-08-13
This set is worth it, just to see this hilarious skit that children of all ages adore. Even kids today. It's timeless. It's priceless. Even one of my children have it memorized and likes to quote it from time to time. :)
The Naughty Nineties .......2007-07-04
The greatist part of this movie is the whos on First. Don't get me wrong, the whole movie was great but as a avid baseball fan I loved the whos on first seen. I think it's the greatist comedy duet done in history. Plus I grew up watching Abbott & Costello movies on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. I will always love there movies but this one the best.

abbott and costello.......2007-04-11
I received the items in a timely fashion, actually quicker than I expected. The dvd's played fine. I really enjoy ordering from Amazon. I belong to columbia house, and I couldn't tell you the last time I ordered from them since ordering from Amazon. Also the great part was I didn't have to pay for shipping. Very well pleased.
The Best of Abbott and Costello, Vol. 2.......2007-04-02
Abbott and Costello's humor is outstanding and timeless. This collection of some of their movies will keep you laughing uproariously, and you will find yourself watching these movies over and over again and still keep laughing, even after you've watched them so much you know what's going to happen next.
