Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle is a big, fun, bubble-brained mess of a movie, and that's exactly as it should be. Its popular 2000 predecessor got the formula right: gorgeous babes, throwaway plots, and as many current pop-cultural trends as you could stuff into a candy-coated dollop of Hollywood mayhem. This sequel goes one "better": The plot's even more disposable (if that's possible), the babes, cars, and fashions even more outlandish, and the stuntwork (heavily digital, heavily absurd) reaches astonishing heights of cartoon silliness. Reprising their titular (and shamelessly titillating) roles, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu are having the time of their lives, especially when sparring with ultra-buff rogue angel Demi Moore (looking better at 40 than most women half her age) and Justin Theroux as a sleazy Irish mobster. Bernie Mac replaces Bill Murray as angel-sidekick Bosley (they're step-brothers, don'cha know), which is one more indication of McG's intentionally reckless stewardship of an intentionally reckless franchise. Our advice: sit back, relax, and get jiggly with it. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A really good sequel worth watching........2007-08-23

I can't believe this movie was panned. I liked this so much I saw it in theaters twice. Demi Moore was perfect as the "angel-turned-bad" villian. The unrated dvd contains more of the harbor fight scene. The plot revolves around two titanium rings that contain all people in the witness protection program on them being stolen. The suspected is an Irish-American mob family that many people in the program have testified against. After some of the people start turning up dead, the Angels start to investigate. The case takes a toll when Dylan becomes hugely involved and a dark secret from her past starts to haunt her. The film has a much bigger comic charm due to Bernie Mac joining the cast as Bosley. His character is funny and lovable.

5 out of 5 stars Greatness.......2007-02-21

It makes Citizen Kane look amateurish. The finest most profound film of our time. "Proof" that TV writers are our greatest artistes.

1 out of 5 stars The Worst Movie in the History of Cinema.......2007-01-26

A few months ago I was channel surfing when I stumbled across Charlie's Angels - Full Throttle. This movie is light years beyond awful. I believe it was the worst movie of 2003, the worst movie of the decade, the worst movie in the history of cinema.

Some Amazon vendors are selling used DVDs of this film for one penny, but even that price is far too high. The only good thing about this movie is that it would make an effective alternative to water boarding.

1 out of 5 stars Hey remember when movies used to be about plot and story lines?.......2007-01-02

-This spectacular piece of poop is about the three angels stopping a former angel from taking over the world or whatever. So the angels must stop her and whiles they're busy doing that they run into such amazing adventures like stripping for no reason and delivering lines so terrible they almost blew out my center speaker. In the incredibly predictable and crappy end they save the day and they all give us a constipated smile to suggest that they live happily ever after. Wow that has never been done before. I always thought that foolscreen DVD's were the worst thing to happen to cinema but it turns out I was wrong, that crown goes to the master filmmaker McG. How the hell he keeps getting his movies green lit is perhaps the greatest mystery since "why Paris Hilton is famous". I'm really glad that he dropped out of the new "Superman" movie and let the supremely talented Bryan Singer direct, because if he had directed it then "Batman Begins" would have been the first and only great DC comics movie.

-I really hate this movie. Usually there's something decent about every movie but this movie had NOTHING. Much like that dog poop "House of the Dead" this movie is devout of any form of entertainment what so ever. There are potholes so big you can drive a tank through them. Then there's the lines, my god this movie has pound for pound some of the worst dialog ever to invade my ears. Whoever was the DP on this movie needs to beaten severely because the look of this crap gave me a headache. The colors are so bright and so "look at me" that it causes nausea, and the lights are so heavy on the actors that their faces look like it has had too much make up applied to it.

-The fights are also incredibly stupid. You can tell that these women are on a wire so much that it borders on the idiotic. McG's attitude in this crap was that the angles can do anything, and that includes sliding under tables and doing cartwheels with a chair. Another thing that drove me insane is that these girls are suppose to be intelligent and yet they keep acting stupid in every scene that we see them in. There is one scene in which the angels must retrieve a key from a man and instead of waiting for him in a parking lot and knocking him down to steal the key, they instead opt to do a striptease and distract him. I'm sure some horny 14 year old may find that entertaining but if you're not horny, and 14 then you'll find it as pointless as everyone else did. The music is bland and the jokes go down faster than Jenna Jameson at work. If you look up deplorable in the dictionary you'll see a picture of this movie

-If you have a party and you want to clear out the room then pop this movie in and surely everyone will leave your house so you can clean up, but if you're not having a party and want to clear the room then please by all means avoid this with all your might. it is really dreadful and painful, kinda like my jokes.

1 out of 5 stars Loud, obnoxious, pathetic attempt at entertainment for morons........2006-08-07

This film has plenty of mindless action, impossible (to the point of laughable) stunts, and a healthy supply of sexual inuendo. It has all of the ingredients of a large scale "jane bond" (times three) but the finished product will still leave you feeling like you just ate some really bad fast food. A pounding headache is also quite normal after a viewing since complete suspension of disbelief is required.

The "camp" level is turned up so high that it doesn't mix well with the seriousness of the violence and action. Or is it the other way around? Something "fun" could have been done with this material, these actors, and the money spent on FX. But instead we're treated to a collection of loud, mind numbing, rediculous stunts all held together by smirks, quips, winks, and a plot as thick as dental floss. It all comes down to a horrible script lacking any true sense of "fun". For those who argue that this film actually lives up to every "simple" thing that it's "supposed to be" - let me refine my review to just one "simple" sentence:

This movie is a big piece of crap for really, really stupid people!

5 out of 5 stars Heavenly!.......2005-03-29

This second installment of the silver screen angels doesn't disappoint - what a ride! Three beautiful, kick-behind heroines in designer clothes, with ageless Demi Moore as ex-angel-turned-devil to destroy makes for two hours of fun. Think of it as "Speed" for chicks. The cameo of original tv angel Kelly Garrett (Jacylyn Smith) was an especially nice touch. Can't wait for number three.

Explosions...speed...three beautiful girls...YES!!!!

3 out of 5 stars A MIXED MOVIE !!!.......2004-03-22

I have seen these two movie series, you may think i will review this two movie for garbage movies. But amazing, these two movies mix many elements, includes puzzle, action, comedy, and any others you can see in other movies.

I gave 3 stars to these two movies, if you think i am right and 3 stars rating means "not bad", then you can accept my suggestion and just take times to see these two movies^^

5 out of 5 stars Intense fast paced movie.......2007-01-12

Wish Grayson McCough would make it big. He has great screen presence. This was a great movie. Same old same old theme, but it kept me at the edge of my seat. Pretty intense, I'd recommend it to anyone.

2 out of 5 stars In Spite of Effective Stunts, 'Throttle' Runs out of Gas Too Soon .......2005-12-28

`Throttle' (aka `No Way Up' begins effectively. It builds up the tension considerably in the opening 20 minutes, and then suddenly stops moving. It is a great pity that the film, of which actions are competently done, just couldn't keep the initial pace through its 90 minutes.

It is one of the numerous clones of Spielberg's `The Duel,' but the film sets its location in underground car park, which is a very clever choice. One businessman Tom Weaver (reminding us of the name of leading actor in `The Duel') enters the underground parking lot around 12:00 pm, but he soon realizes that someone has designs against him. And in his case a truck (not monstrous, but still huge) chases him around the parking lot.

There are several characters who might be seeking for the life of Tom. But the mystery part of the film, some of which are seen in the several flashbacks, is perfunctory (and probably unnecessary). The main attraction of the film is its stunts, and they are very good. The actors - Grayson McCouch as Tom, Adrian Paul as his business partner, and Amy Locane as Tom's wife - are all good, especially McCouch, who appears as slightly arrogant guy whose ego must be humiliated by the cat-and-mouse chase.

But for all its great set-up, `Throttle' runs out of ideas pretty earlier than it should. You see, Tom is trapped in the underground space, and a truck chases him around. The cell phone is dead. The exits are all locked. Now, before you watch the film, you know there is little else for the film to do, and actually it has few options to choose. It tries to stretch the story by including several episodes, but none of them works. Flashbacks are boring, and the characters often act in the most unbelievable way, which only makes the running time unnecessarily longer. Why cannot Tom escape from the place when he encounters not less than three people after being attacked by the truck? Why doesn't he think of using a gun? I love watching action films, and I can stop disbelieving while enjoying them, but so many plot holes (and the black-outs which suggest we have to wait for the next action to begin for a while) are too much for me.

`Throttle' starts very well, but soon runs out of gas. It is an enjoyable B-action, has thrilling action sequences, and the acting of Grayson McCouch is impressive, but it still needs more tricks to keep us interested in the story.

4 out of 5 stars CLAUSTROPHOBIC AND EFFICIENT THRILLER.......2005-11-05

THROTTLE is one of the best "Duel" copies out there. If it weren't for it's over the top and unsatisying ending, I'd have rated it higher. Writer/director James Seale sets up a labyrinthine plot which keeps the audience guessing on who is driving the nasty truck. Grayson McCouch gives a visceral, masculine performance as our hero, a would be thief who finds himself trapped in a parking garage with a demented truck driver. Numerous flashback sequences give us plenty of suspects, and the villian's identity comes as a bit of a surprise, which is to Seale's credit. Unfortunately, the confrontation between our hero and the villain isn't written as sharply as the rest of the movie and the villain's fate is a copout. The movie deserved better. Still McCouch and company (especially Amy Locane and Adrian Paul) keep us interested.

1 out of 5 stars Garbage.......2005-09-28

Need I say more? This is a c-grade garbage. Probably the whole movie costs under $10k to make in some underground garage. How can people give it anything above 1 star is beyond my imagination. Avoid it!

4 out of 5 stars Suspense.......2005-09-09

I really enjoyed this movie. I initially bought it because Adrian Paul is in it, but enjoyed it on its own. I was skeptical at first about the whole story taking place in the parking garage, but it worked. I enjoyed the suspense, unknown factors, twists & turns as well as trying to figure out the who and why. The flashback style was good in moving the story and added just enough to keep you thinking and guessing. It held my attention and interest throughout. I know my teenage son is going to love the action and suspense too.

5 out of 5 stars Dirty "Redneck" Live.......2007-07-05

Jackyl is totaly a LIVE Band...
    Jesse is the Man...

If the Audio CD pulled the brake (only 10 songs)...This DVD make the show getting longer...but I needed more!!!

I suggest this DVD to everyone who wants to see and feel how is the Pure Hard Rock n' Roll...

Let the progressives make their plastic music.

We Rock, We Roll, We Jackyl Off!!!

    5 out of 5 stars jackyl.......2007-01-06

people, people, people, this video was filmed at the full throttle in sturges ,not texas, although it is a killer video for the rock fan,,play it loud as possible ,,,you wont be disapointed ,,,,,

4 out of 5 stars rock me, roll me, jackyl me off.......2006-06-20

Recorded live at the Full Throttle Saloon (Texas) on new years night 2003-2004. Jackyl (I think) where the first band to welcome in the New Year. The show gets better after a shaky start up, I thought it was gonnah be lame when it kicked off with a midget revving a motorbike and WCW has-been Bill Goldberg introducing the band. But the show revitalises it self and kicks out some a**.

    Tracks played
    - The more you hate it
    - I stand-alone
    - Mr. Evil
    - You want it heavy
    - Push comes to shove
    - Secret of the bottle
    - When will it rain
    - Down on me
    - Dirty little mind
    - Redneck punk
    - She loves my c***
    - Billy Bada**
    - The Lumberjack (with chainsaw solo)

    - 5.1 & 2.0 channels available.
    - no subtitles

    Bonus Features
    - Billy Bada** (video clip)***
    - Cooking (about 10 minutes on some band members cooking there dinner in the bus)**
    - The Rig (the band showing you what equipment they use (excuse to plug sponsors)

Although I'd loved to have had a few songs from the set list dropped and replaced with favourites like "locked & loaded", "Kill the sunshine", "Headed for destruction" & "Dumba** country boy" I guess there's nothing that can be done about it now.

The show brings a great live sound, interesting performances and beer, women and rock n roll. The only thing annoying was there were some clips of them arriving at the gig thrown in between the first couple of songs that weren't needed.

It's also impressed me how talented these guys's actually are. I didn't even know Jesse James Dupree played the guitar, but he knows his way around that fret board and I have a new found respect for his work. And everyone else in the band is great at what they do which is why Jackyl are a 100% straightforward butt kickin rock n roll band.

Never have seeing Jackyl live before; I'm not disappointed in their first DVD release. And heres a glass raised to them in hopes that it's far from the last from this highly under rated band.

5 out of 5 stars This DVD Rocks!!!.......2004-09-30

This is a must have for any Jackyl fan!!! This DVD features an entire Jackyl concert and some special features that are really cool insight to the band. I highly recomend this DVD!!!

      Description

In this episode, Japanese hustle meets American muscle! The Datsun 240Z was the first affordable people's sports car. We get an up-close look at the 1971 Datsun design engineering that proved light years ahead of its American competitors. Diving into their overhead cam engine, we tear it down and build it back up for a head-to-head drag race at full throttle! After supplying two teams with the classic cars, garages, tools, parts, and 20 hours of repair time, we hold an old-fashioned drag race on a legal, certified track with safety devices for the drivers. As we follow the teams, we interject history at each step they take, including factory footage and interviews with the legends behind the vintage vehicles.

I found it to be rather boring at times and just not the same after watching Rowan in Mr. Bean but to each his own.

      1 out of 5 stars Wrong Description.......2007-01-19

Don't buy this item if you think it stars Rowan Atkinson as stated in the description and as referred to in the reviews. This is a completely different film. I informed Amazon about this mistake when I returned this DVD. However, as of this date, the error has not been corrected.

      5 out of 5 stars Full Throttle.......2005-07-15

I don't know anything about cars or car racing. I watched this movie because it starred Rowan Atkinson. I had originally thought it would be a comedy, but it's not, although there are a few times when it is a bit funny because Rowan Atkinson's delivery of a couple different lines reminded me of his Blackadder character. The movie is successful because it made me interested in car racing. Not enough really for me to become a fan, but enough that I wanted to learn more about Sir Henry (Tim) Birkin, and Bentley Motors, and the early days of car racing. (And even about the motorcycle TT races, where his brother Archie died, and about speed boat racing, which his sister did, and also about the character Tiger Tim (where he got his nickname).) A pretty good movie. Good performances. Fans of "As Time Goes By" will recognise Geoffrey Palmer as Birkin's father Sir Stanley, and fans of "Eastenders" will recognize the actor Gavin Richards (who played Terry Raymond) who plays W.O. Bentley. A very enjoyable movie, even if like me you are not particularly interested in car racing. There are some great performances.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent acting makes this a sure bet.......2001-07-26

This is an interesting biography of eccentric racing demon Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin whose racing victories in the 1920's and 30's are still legendry. Rather than leaning on a whole life biography, the film allows Rowan Atkinson (as Birkin)to explain the things that were most important to him, racing itself and his rivalry and friendship with the "Bentley Boys". It includes some great vintage and faux vintage footage. The best part of this short classic program is the exceptional acting. Rowan Atkinson shines. Geoffrey Palmer's short role as Birkin's father is excellent."Ghost writer" Crispen Bonham-Carter is extremely believable and Ken Kitson(as Birkin's right hand man)shows off his superb supporting skills. My one criticism is that they tried to cram too much into one hour. This should have been extended into it's own mini series for depth.

4 out of 5 stars Full Throttle in my view only!!!!!.......2001-02-17

This is clean good fun no doubt. But at times I felt the story a bit haphazard. Could have been a little more careful editing. But overall a good movie. L Waziullah. Dallas, Texas.

        Description

Two teams. Two classic cars with some re-assembly required. Twenty hours to go until a winner-take-all race. Welcome to FULL THROTTLE. Hosted by the ""Turbo Twins"" Marc and Eric Kozeluh--legendary street-racers and owners of California's Twins Turbo Motorsport Engineering--each episode goes under the hood, into the past, and onto the street with a storied vehicle. The 1985 Buick Grand National was a throwback to the golden age of the muscle car--a high-horsepower, low-subtlety celebration of straight-line speed. Here, two teams try to extract the most from the Grand National's turbos, fuel injectors, racing transmission, high stall torque converter and the rest of its made-for-speed equipment. As they prepare for a quarter-mile showdown, we'll ride through the history of this American original.
