he is funny as always. i could not stop laughing and i would reccomend this to anyone. this is one of the funniest cats that i have ever listened to and im looking forward to his next project..this kat is a fool and i love his work

5 out of 5 stars Off the Chain.......2007-08-23

This guy is off the chain. I can't wait for the part II. He keeps it real and tells it, as it is. In reality, he says things that all of us wants or wanted to say. A must have!

3 out of 5 stars Not Really Bad, But Could've Been Better..........2007-08-07

...while I certainly wouldn't give this one (1) star, I don't think it deserved a five (5) star rating either. Kat Williams is funny. Don't get it twisted but, knowing what I do know he (and Mike Epps who like a lot) just need more experience as far as stand-up routines go. Both of these cat's have to talent to push the boundaries of black comedy even further. I'd love to see that. Unfortunately, too many newer comics have simply recycled old cliche's and updated older jokes from the 80's and 90's. Peace.

4 out of 5 stars Who let the Katt out?.......2007-08-03

I really did enjoy this show. Katt is very graphic in his language, he paints pictures with his words. This is the kind of show that will grow on you, mark my words.

5 out of 5 stars Dipset!!!!! Dipset!!!!! Dipset!!!!!!!.......2007-07-07

I guess you have to watch this DVD to see what I mean about Dipset. But on some real talk I have watched this comedy show about 30 times. This DVD is funny as Hell. Katt knows how to keep it real and keep you laughing no matter what type of mood you are in. If you are a comedy fan you really need to cop this DVD.Katt Williams - The Pimp Chronicles Part 1

This DvD is hilarious. If you are into very un-PC humor this guy is great!

1 out of 5 stars Lame.......2007-08-26

I had never seen this guy before. Watched as much of the DVD I could stand. He is not the least bit funny.

5 out of 5 stars BEST COMEDIAN OF THE CENTURY.......2007-08-23

I have watched this DVD over a dozen times and still laugh all the way thru it. Nearly 20 of my friends have also watched it and agree, Daniel Tosh is hilarious. Do not hesitate to purchase this one...

5 out of 5 stars Daniel Tosh is my hero.......2007-08-23

This is the funniest stand up I've seen in long time...Dane Cook doesn't hold a candle!!

4 out of 5 stars no seriously, no seriously... no, seriously.......2007-08-10

Daniel Tosh is hilarious, but if you are looking at this you probably already know that, as I think his current level of popularity dictates that no one could find his DVD on accident/through recomendations etc.

It has been said a couple of times already, but this DVD re-hashes a lot of the cd material, only with rushed deliveries (it killed me the way he altered the down feather bit on the DVD), and so to an extent you can make the case that the cd is the way to go.

But the extras on the DVD, while not large in quantity, are AMAZING. From self depricating cracks during a photo shoot, to a little Q&A with some fans (watching these people try to be funny for him is a riot in itself), and then finally topped by an ingenious rip on Dane Cook.

But while the extras are great, they also represent my biggest regret about the DVD. I own his CD, I watched the special (which was an editted, cut down version of this show) premier. While I enjoy the new material, hearing the F word etc. after seeing the outtakes it is apparent that a lot was left on the cutting room floor. Maybe this is an unreasonable request (or just that of a psycho fan), but why? I loved watching him bust on audience members, camera men, the staff of the club etc. I can understand why you don't want that part of it on Comedy Central, but why not include the whole show, completely uncut, on the DVD?

Oh well. This DVD is a good buy just because the best stuff in the show didn't make it onto the Comedy Central cut (the whole bit about New Orleans for instance), and for the aforementioned reasons. Yeah, it could have been better, but I am still happy to own it.

Released without a rating and billed as "the most vile, disgusting, and vulgar" film of all time, The Aristocrats is also funny enough to qualify as a minor comedy classic. We say "minor" only because hearing the same foul joke told by 100 celebrated comedians is inevitably exhausting, even though the shaggy-dog gag (a vintage in-joke among comedians, allowing outrageously obscene improvisation, and always ending with the same titular punchline) is also a fascinating litmus test for each comedian's irreverent style. As codirectors and show-biz insiders, veteran comedians Paul Provenza and Penn Jillette (from the comedy duo Penn & Teller) corralled an unprecedented parade of stand-up celebrities (George Carlin, Robin Williams, Drew Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Sarah Silverman, the South Park kids and many, many more), each telling "the dirtiest joke of all time" in their own inimitable fashion. The sheer volume of vaudevillian vulgarity takes on a life of its own, more fascinating than funny, until Gilbert Gottfried (at a celebrity roast for Hugh Hefner, shortly after the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01) tells what is unanimously hailed as the definitive version of the joke. It's a matter of context, style, and bawdy bravado, and for better or worse, The Aristocrats will endure as a testament to a joke so bad--so uproariously bad--that no comedian worthy of the profession can resist the temptation to tell it. --Jeff Shannon

Description

Comedy veterans and co-creators Penn Jillette (one half of the hit duo Penn & Teller) and Paul Provenza capitalize on their insider status and invite over 100 of their closest friends (who happen to be some of the biggest names in entertainment, from George Carlin, Whoopi Goldberg, Drew Carey to Gilbert Gottfried, Bob Saget, Paul Reiser and Sarah Silverman) to reminisce, analyze and deliver their own versions of the world's dirtiest joke, an old burlesque routine too extreme to be performed in public, called The Aristocrats. One of the smash hits of the 2005 Sundance film festival, this critically acclaimed, star-studded comedy extravaganza, which celebrates the art of improvisation and the finest (and most foul mouthed) traditions of stand up, is sure to stretch the limits of its audience, particularly for how loud and how long they can laugh.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Always over the top.......2007-09-10

This movie gives you a hard-hitting, amazingly-real look into the minds of comics. Entertaining the public is a skill, but this movie makes it apparent that entertaining other comics is an art. Hilarious and side-splitting.

5 out of 5 stars Humanity is truly disgusting! (but in a good way).......2007-08-05

I saw this film when it was in theatres, and up until that time, it was the only movie that's ever made me feel guilty for laughing. I mean, some of the jokes are so horrific, I felt so utterly disgusting for even allowing myself to laugh. There just isn't enough forgiveness in heaven for what I've heard. Literally, people were squirming in their seats at the hundreds of awkward moments. If there's any topic or sexual act considered taboo, prepare to have it raunchily discussed in agonizing details because well, that's the objective of the joke. I've heard some pretty nasty things in my time, and don't get shocked too often, but this is comedic naughtiness taken to serious extremes. If you can find it in you to watch this, there are, believe it or not, really good reasons to watch this film.
First, seeing movies nowadays, at least for me, is kind of a bore. The same ole' stock characters-love triangles-talking dogs-Jerry Bruckheimer go boom-saving the world-USA rules-type films are getting so hatefully boring. This movie is a welcome relief. After seeing it, I think you'll agree, it's exciting because it's premise is incredibly original.
Secondly, there's over 100 of todays' BEST comedians participating in this dirty improv marathon. What's great is that you get to see each comic take a spin on this underground joke, but still keep their comedic essence. Some of the best to watch out for are Sarah Silverman, Bob Saget, Gilbert Gottfried, and one of my favorites, Kevin Pollak.
Lastly, not only will certain visuals have you rolling, but it's very interesting to see comics use some of our most terrible recent tragedies and dare to include them in their jokes. I mean, have you ever thought 9/11 could be funny? Superficially, it's mostly for pure shock value, it's supposed to be, but there are certain points in the film where it's also therapeutic.
This film is amazing to not only track down over 100 comics and expertly pick the choiciest parts of their rendition of this heinous joke, but just the editing alone must've been a monumental feat. It could've been a comic itself, it had impeccable timing.
My mind is beyond repair, but it was worth it.

5 out of 5 stars What's the beef, y'all?.......2007-05-03

See it if you haven't already, ideally with a group of people. I don't know what's buggin' all these one star review people, but I saw it in a packed movie house and everybody laughed until it hurt the whole time. Is the joke itself all that funny? No. But hear this, friends-THE MOVIE WAS NOT ABOUT THE JOKE. Similar to a jazz performance, throughout history great and memorable solos and improvisations have been rendered from some fairly ordinary material. But oh, if you happened to be in the club that one night...

3 out of 5 stars this was ok............2007-04-16

....but I think it would have been funnier had I been drunk and with a large group of people. I think it would be a great "social" experience. Although, hearing Bob Saget tell his version of the joke made me want to scrub my brain with bleach - it's Bob Saget!! He shouldn't say those things! And I wish they'd given Robin Williams more time to cut loose and ad lib the way he normally does.

3 out of 5 stars Its not a funny movie but I saw a reason for the movie.......2007-04-13

After reading a few of the reviews submitted here, I agreed with some reviewers who said: No the movie wasnt funny. It wasnt, I almost never laughed.
But I also agreed with the reviewers who felt it was more then just about the joke The Joke gave the comic Freedom This joke had a beginning and a punchline and the freedom came from how you filled in the middle.
I can see why the dirtier the better cause in some eyes Its the opposite from the punchline.
If I could show you one scene it would be of Gilbert Gottfried telling the joke live on stage at a Banquet. If I understand things he was bombing The joke wasnt any funnier then the 30 other times it was told in the movie, But what made it work to me was that so many others on stage knew what was coming and they were squirming.
That moment was very good and worth the movie
If you dont have a Liberal sense of humor (I thought I did) You wont think this is funny
But if you want to Listen to some Comics Talk about the love they feel for this Joke. You get the real impression this Joke was part of their Comic Puberty I guess

Comedian Chris Rock makes a raucous return to his stand-up roots in this HBO special filmed at Harlem's legendary Apollo Theater. Despite his manic and profane delivery, Rock's comedy is often rooted in traditional subjects for comedians: family relationships, misunderstandings between men and women, and observations on how childhood has changed. But he takes his material right to the edge, proving himself to be a sharp-eyed satirist. Serious and timely issues, such as school shootings or children being neglected by partying parents, are tackled by Rock, who's not afraid to slip in a serious point while being hysterically funny. His defense of President Clinton against his accusers is a good example of how Rock's material is almost always bound to offend someone: he slices through the self-righteous rhetoric of the impeachment spectacle, but even the behavior he defends comes in for ridicule with jokes that are extremely funny as well as extremely coarse. The pace of this one-hour show is uneven, and some viewers will no doubt find Rock's penchant for using profanity as punctuation tiresome. But those who like intelligent comedy with a hard edge will find much to laugh at in Chris Rock: Bigger and Blacker. -- Robert J. McNamara

Description

' 'The funniest man in America' ' according to Time magazine and Vanity Fair, presents an hour of ' 'riotously funny' ' (Entertainment Weekly) and ' 'breathtakingly provocative' ' (Chicago Sun-Times) outstanding stand-up comedy.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A modern classic.......2007-09-04

Rock is perhaps the sharpest stand-up working today (though Carlin is still trenchant, to say the least), and this is his peak. Crafting a well-nigh perfect performance using his pissed-off ghetto persona, Rock hits the bull's eye again and again here. His delivery is razor-sharp, the material pretty much flawless; this will still be hilarious in fifty years.
I've seen hundreds of stand-up routines; this is the only one I've watched over a dozen times. It never seems to grow old...I don't know how it's always funny, but it is. When I've got to either laugh immmediately or die of post-modern deconstructivist meta-ironic brainache, this is the pick. The cd is nowhere near as good, different takes on the same material but without the edge.
Five stars, no doubt.

4 out of 5 stars Better medicine than Robitussin.......2007-08-26

The Doug E. Fresh intro perfectly sets the mood for the frantic and energetic Chris Rock. Bigger & Blacker is an HBO production filmed in the Apollo Theater and is brilliant satire from the perspective of an African-American.

Rock lays the smack down on topics such as school violence, gun control, irresponsible parents, neglected fathers, infidelity, bigotry, and the poor state of health care. His assertions are blunt, bold, and are fired from point-blank: "A man is only as faithful as his options", "Men lie but women are much bigger liars", "Blacks and whites have little to complain about, consider the state of Native Americans".

All of Rock's material is solid and most of it is intelligent and thought-provoking. He slips into crudeness only briefly as he suggests that the blind be assigned to midgets instead of seeing-eye dogs and when he mentions his contempt for women that don't provide oral servicing. Also, he picks on white people a little, but it is not really funny like when Richard Pryor teased white people. These minor flaws are certainly not deal breakers.

Rock is providing a solid hour of comedy here. He has a superb rapport with his audience and his delivery is very good overall with only a couple instances of repeating himself or otherwise stalling as he gathers his thoughts. This is an adult show and profanity is used liberally, but not quite what I would consider gratuitously. Overall this is a very good show that all fans of standup comedy, should consider viewing. Chris Rock deserves to go home to the big piece of chicken (inside joke-watch the show).

5 out of 5 stars The Master........2007-08-14

Well, I cannot get enough of Mr. Rock so I took a look at this video and will be watching it a few more times in the future. Like all of Chris Rock's standup performances this one is totally brilliant. If everyone in society talked as freely about race, sex, and people as Chris Rock does then the United States would be a far better place. He is magnificently, wondrously, and electrically politically incorrect and we should appreciate him for it. Rock is far more valuable than five thousand rebellious commentators writing articles for 24 hours a day in the attempt to destroy PC. His essential theme is "people are people" even if you're Bill Clinton. That we pretend otherwise is our own pathology. Thank God for Chris Rock--at least someone has the guts to stand up and say what he wants.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Chris Rock.......2007-08-04

Loved this dvd! His comedy is fresh, funny, and right on target. I was a big fan of Never Scared and I liked this routine just as much. As always, he's offensive but there is more than a ring of truth to what he says. Rock never fails to tell it like it is, in his unique hilarious fashion.

1 out of 5 stars Dumber and Dumber.......2007-07-09

I dont have anything against comedy because laughter heals you when you're down but I do have something against chittlin circuit humor. Case in point with Miss Rock. This punk-in-a-can doesnt have a funny bone in his body and to laugh at his childlike ignorance shows insanity on your behalf. I havent heard this much stupidity since I watched a Sheryl Uglywood(The queen of all aunt jemimas) routine. You reviewers say that he is very insightful in his routine. Okay lets see. His joke about how he looks at girls that doesnt give dome like a Beta Max. Yeah, that's real insightful. What about his silly notion of a black racist(ignorance reigns supreme in the mind of this foolish being). Yeah, you cant get more insightful than that. Should I go on? This loud, obnoxious, overrated, unfunny minstrel clown is about as sharp a rusty nail. Not one intelligent statement or even a smart statement from this overpaid buckdancer. Just mind-boggling stupidity and ignorance from the mind of a bum that makes his fruity progenitor Petty Murphy proud with each rancid punchline told. Its funny. You go on an onslaught about the rappers and the content of their music to the point where your grievances are overkill but you laugh at comedians who are guilty of the same charges in their routines. If hypocracy isnt a staple of your diet than what is?

3 out of 5 stars missing the best of all...........2007-09-06

OK, Victor is definitly on of the funniest performers ever.
Nevertheless, after seeing through this one, I really miss the most funny clip ever, namely the Singing-Punctuation part with Dean Martin on Deans show. No collections are complete without that one, but luckily you can check it out on YouTube.

3 out of 5 stars Not the best..........2007-08-31

Yes, Victor Borge was a master. But this was not the best DVD. The price was a bit much for 75 minutes and 1/3 of it was black and white. If you can get The Best of Victor Borge Act One and Two (1990). It is 90 minutes long and less expensive.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic, clean humor!.......2007-03-29

I have watched Victor Borge on PBS for several years and am looking forward to this DVD I just ordered. I have no doubt it will be great. Like the other reviewers, I agree this is great humor appropriate even for children. I don't have to worry about vulgarity which is so common among the so called great comedians these days!

5 out of 5 stars Must Have!.......2007-03-09

Anyone who doesn't know Victor Borge is just too young and missing out on the best entertainer ever. This is a showcase of Victor's best funny moments, all of which I never get tired of watching! However, Victor was also a very accomplished pianist and serious entertainer - if you get this (and you definitely should), make sure you get additional DVD's that show Victor's other serious talents.

5 out of 5 stars Humor at its best.......2007-03-09

Both a brilliant pianist and an exceptional comedian, Victor Borge is scintillatingly, if not outrageously, funny in several of his most famous skits. Well worth the cost, and worth the time to watch, if you like clean humor.

Description

George Carlin performs a hilarious set of never-before released material in "Complaints and Grievances." His 12th HBO special was recorded live at the Beacon Theater in New York City on November 17, 2001. In "Complaints and Grievances," Carlin shamelessly exposes the people and subjects that irritate him the most. His bold brand of humor forces us to laugh at our own behavior when it comes to disgusting hygiene habits, those annoying family newsletters and people who use credit cards to pay for inexpensive items. This riotous collection includes the routines "Traffic Accidents - Keep Movin'!," "You & Me (Things That Come Off Of Your Body)," "Parents of Honor Students," "Guys Named Todd," and "Why We Don't Need 10 Commandments."

5 out of 5 stars CARLIN...THE CAPTAIN OF COMEDY.......2007-06-27

I am so glad I was able to purchase this DVD as I live in Australia where George Carlin is not available. I've loved Carlin since college...and the older I get, the more I appreciate his irreverent, caustic, "anti"politically correct take on life. For Carlin lovers, I recommend this one. If you don't know his humor, don't stay in the dark any longer! Go get a copy of this DVD immediately!

5 out of 5 stars CARLIN'S GOT A BRAND NEW BAG! VERY FUNNY!.......2007-06-24

I'm always glad to see a comedian change his spots. Any comic who has been around as long a Carlin has got to keep pushing the envelop! This is one of the best stand-ups I've seen in years!

5 out of 5 stars yet more of the same jokes.......2007-01-10

not much to say but i heard it all before

5 out of 5 stars NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING.......2006-11-04

GEORGIE DOES IT AGAIN.
THIS MAN NEVER FAILS.
BUY THIS DVD AND YOU CAN DIE HAPPY!

4 out of 5 stars George Carlin - Complaints and Grievances .......2006-08-14

One of his best concerts. The production company should have mastered the DVD in a 16:9 aspect ratio, but they didn't. George deserves better.

4 out of 5 stars Kathleen Madigan.......2007-09-01

Funny, but she has done better material. Still if you like Kathleen you should like this.In Other Words

5 out of 5 stars Hilarious!! Not Retarded!.......2007-08-22

To Onstar: "Lady, I repeat, I'm trapped in the car with my parents". This album is hysterical and infinately quotable. She's intelligent, sarcastic, smart, VERY funny, and will make you tear with laughter. We've listened to it many times and although we know what's coming, it's still hysterical. If you like Ron White you would probably like her. Good political humor, social commentary, with a clean presentation, yet hysterically edgy. She is extrememly sarcastic, with great metaphors about George Bush. I can't wait for her next ablum. "in other words......" She's simply a great giggle over and over again. I HIGHLY recommend her. There are so many good routines, I can't pick one.

5 out of 5 stars Kathleen Madigan.......2007-08-14

I love her acts, she is very funny. The dvd is great, much better than just listening to a cd.

5 out of 5 stars Debra D. .......2007-03-08

Love Kathleen Madigan and her comedy. Another great DVD/CD from one funny lady. Everyone should own this DVD/CD along with Kathleen's earlier releases.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding performance - one of the best comedians out there........2007-01-09

Kathleen Madigan gives an outstanding performance in the DVD presentation. It's a solid evening of entertainment. She includes some of her older material (which is classic) but most of the DVD is new. Any fan would be pleased and if you have never seen Kathleen perform, a real treat awaits you.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as the Canadian DVD.......2007-09-14

I bought this because I watched the DVD in Canada. This is not the same DVD as sold in Canada. The Canadian version was more in depth and lasted much longer. Instead of a minute for each skit, their version took about 10 minutes for each skit. This seemed more like a TV show than the Gags DVD they sell in Canada. It was funny, but I was disappointed that it was not the one I thought I would receive. The Canadian DVD was 10 times better.

3 out of 5 stars Mildly entertaining, a Canadian "Candid Camera".......2007-03-21

If you liked Candid Camera, you will like this series. It is one hour and 21 minutes long but I found myself fast forwarding through a number of gags that just didn't work. I did laugh a few times. Worth a rental; not worth buying.

5 out of 5 stars Television was due for a show like this...........2006-04-16

This show took a page from Candid Camera and turned it on its side. It re-freshed the concept in that the practical jokes are all visual and done without an annoying voice-over guy. Many of the ideas are timeless and brilliantly funny. The pacing develops the prank in stages by getting reactions from several hapless victims before moving on to the next stage. This helped to build momentum and made many of the reactions priceless. Several of the pranks from this show are floating around the internet including the one of the two coppers in underwear. The only disappointing thing is that the DVDs are too short for the price. But these are not one-watch wonders, the gags are fun to watch over and over. For those with children, the vast majority of the pranks are family friendly. My kids love this show.

JFL created a masterpiece of light-hearted reasons to laugh. Volume 2 will be joining my collection as soon as it is released!

5 out of 5 stars The animation is so life like similar to 3D.......2007-05-16

The animation is spectacular, I wish these type of cartoons were made when I was a kid. My 19 month grand-daughter loves this video, and the music too. I'm not too sure what those "other" reviewers are talking about when they state that the graphics are scary, and wishing they made them the old-style way, to them I say "grow up with the times and enjoy, it's only a movie, and if that's your opinion be real, it's only a cartoon, you're judging waaaayyy to harshly.. I wish they made more movies like this, it looks spectacular on my 50" Toshiba that I had also bought through Amazon, saving me a great big bundle.

My granddaughter loves it.She watches it 2 to 3 times a day,Need i say more.

5 out of 5 stars Don't reject the new in favor of the old!.......2006-07-18

My three year old absolutely loves both of the CGI animated Care Bear movies and we sing along to the songs together. The new soundtracks are catchy and have great messages/themes. The story line for this particular movie is appropriate, well paced (not too fast) and provides a valuable lesson--be careful how you treat others, and sensitive to other's feelings. I would strongly recommend this movie, without hesitation, even if Funshine Bear did "become" a boy...I view all of the Care Bears as sex neutral and my 3 year old is oblivious, regardless. Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars My daughter loves it!.......2006-03-22

My two year old loves those carebears, especially Journey to Joke-alot. It is funny and she loves to dance along to the songs!

1 out of 5 stars I am a carebear fanatic BUT..........2006-03-15

...I will have to shoot myself if I am forced to watch this again. The animations are very annoying, the court jesterish feel is very annoying and the portrayal of Funshine Bear (my favorite) as a pre-teenaged boy jokester is NOT my idea of what carebears is about. I was NOT impressed with this movie!

3 out of 5 stars Ho-hum second entry.......2006-04-16

I discovered this show when I arrived in the UK a few years ago, and it quickly became a favorite (when I could find it.) When Vol I came out, I was quick to order several, one for me and others for gifts. I wasn't disappointed. Although the running time is short (IMO), what is there is great television. However, I'm disappointed with Vol II. There were a couple of repeat gags from Vol I, and several variations on a theme, which this show does a lot of. Overall, most of the gags in this volume fell flat for me. More grins than guffaws. Hoping vol III is a return to form....
