Product Description

Four planes had been hijacked. One would crash into the Pentagon, one would be brought down in a field in Pennsylvania. Two would crash into the World Trade Center where thousands would lose their lives. No one could believe the devastation, over which a single flag would rise, in a place called Ground Zero.

Now In Memoriam: New York City, 9/11/01 draws on an incredible gathering of still and video material from more than 100 people in and around New York City who witnessed the day's events. The program presents a panoramic and unique historical record of the day, supported by a moving score performed by the New York Philharmonic, composed entirely of music by American composers.
Running Time: 60 min.

Originally shown on HBO on May 26, 2002, In Memoriam is one of the most vital documents to emerge after the events of September 11, 2001. Compiled from over 100 sources, this collage of audio, video, and photography will provoke tears, anger, and grief all over again... so why watch it? The title states the purpose: as disturbing as some of these images are, they are also bursting with tenacious and inspiring humanity, bolstered by the wisdom of New York City's then-mayor Rudolph Giuliani, who recalls--along with his executive staff--the horrendous events of 9/11 as he entered the chaos of Ground Zero. With its closing montage of numerous memorial services, this exemplary 60-minute film, supplemented on the DVD by an interactive timeline of pivotal events, makes it virtually impossible to forget the 3,047 lives lost to terrorist brutality. Despite the astonishing scope of coverage provided, this is not a journalistic endeavor, but a potent visual reminder that 9/11 was a day of unity, transcending the horrors witnessed here. --Jeff Shannon

5 out of 5 stars Great documentary about a terrible day........2007-09-10

9-11-01. Pretty much one of the worst days in American history. A day which we as a people should never be allowed to forget or become complacent about. This documentary serves as an excellent reminder, not only of the events of that day, but of the emotions which came with it. If you're anything like me, whatever feelings you felt that day will come rushing back after (and quite probably during) watching this.
I highly recommend this DVD.

3 out of 5 stars Interesting.......2007-09-03

Thought it was well made, and impressed with the rare footage shown. A little bit dated looking, but overall good value.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent.......2007-03-08

If you've never seen this HBO documentary, you haven't seen an important part of history. I teach at a private university in Tampa and I use this documentary in my 9/11 and the Media class. My students literally watch the movie in silence and there is not a dry eye in the room after 60 minutes. This is a compelling feature; it is probably one of thee premiere documentaries ever made and an almost unbelievable account of 9/11. Hats off to the producers; this is one of the documentaries that will be a timeless reminder of what happened that day.

5 out of 5 stars A Time For Closure.......2007-01-06

9/11 was a terrible day for all free people. I know that the ramifications of it have affected me, as they have all of us, ever since. Finally I feel my emotions are healing from this horrendous loss and carnage. This film, to me at least,is not unlike attending a wake for a loved one who has died.
It has been a real part of my personal journey, to put this event behind me and go on now in the present. No, I did not say forget. We must always remember the thousands of people who died so needlessly, and the 343 FDNY firefighters, the EMT's, cops and even some civilians, who rushed in to help rescue the others who were rushing out, to provide medical aid to the injured, and to give comfort to the dying. Let them inspire us all.

5 out of 5 stars hands down, one of the best.......2006-09-17

If you want to remember that day that you rushed to the television as I did and if you want to watch the horrible events unfold before your eyes and the feelings you felt that inspired you to act, then this is the video to watch.

Are you a conspiracy theorist, or are you a follower of patriotism and the men who led this country after the events that happened that day? Or are you one of millions that would just rather not remember at all and want to go on with your life? No matter...

This was ground zero, and if you want to see the world that it is today and all the events going on then you need to relive the horror of that day. Because this is the root of what is happening. There are no clear answers yet. I've heard the conspiracy theorists and as someone who knows air travel, aircraft, the aviation system, I can tell you their conclusions are so full of holes that they make themselves look silly to people who live aviation on the scale it was exloited that day.

Or are you a patriot blindly following the people who lead in order to prevent another disaster? Then I can tell you that their stories and actions are just as full of holes as the conspiracies. They paint a misrepresented picture also.

Or are you that complacent person who either doesn't want to remember at all or doesn't care?

Ground zero was where it started. Before you get set into following one side or the other, it's best to revisit the events of that day and remember the innocents who died and those who suffered. Watch it then ask yourself if you are so willing to jump on one bandwagon or the other?

The greatest tragedy of all right now is that all these years after, citizens have stood by and let a government of bickering and self servicing interests coast by with not having laid a single stone on top of another to memorialize the events of that day. That in itself is a statement of a country of apathy. If we are all that apathetic, then perhaps it's time to go back to ground zero and feel the pain once again. This is the video that will make that happen....

To anyone who truly understands what it means to be an American, Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 should be seen as a triumph of patriotic freedom. Rarely has the First Amendment been exercised with such fervor and forthrightness of purpose: After subjecting himself to charges of factual errors in his gun-lobby exposé Bowling for Columbine, Moore armed himself with a platoon of reputable fact-checkers, an abundance of indisputable film and video footage, and his own ironically comedic sense of righteous indignation, with the singular intention of toppling the war-ravaged administration of President George W. Bush. It's the Bush presidency that Moore, with his provocative array of facts and figures, blames for corporate corruption, senseless death, unnecessary war, and political favoritism toward Osama Bin Laden's family and Saudi oil partners following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Moore's incendiary film earned Palme d'Or honors at Cannes and a predictable legion of detractors, but do yourself a favor: Ignore those who condemn the film without seeing it, and let the facts speak for themselves. By honoring American soldiers and the victims of 9/11 while condemning Bush's rationale for war in Iraq, Fahrenheit 9/11 may actually succeed in turning the tides of history. --Jeff Shannon

5 out of 5 stars A mirror into a society........2007-09-09

When one looks into a mirror, he or she sees his/her person in its true form. The reflection shows everything the viewer wants to see. After looking into the relfection, the viewer can have a varied number of reactions - basically either pleasureable or displeasing.

All subjects that face a mirror have either of these two characteristics -whether it be a person, a group of people or an entire society. And it is the same with America.

Michael Moore provides a "mirror" to current American society that many in his country do not appreciate. Why? He moves the "mirror" around the subject and shows the defects of his society (as in all societies). "A prophet is never welcome in his own country", so the saying goes, and it will be a matter of time before his views on this controversial matter are truly examined.

1 out of 5 stars Micheal Moore's so called "documentary" is nothing more than a personal attack..........2007-08-19

Michael Moore has something personal against President Bush because this wasn't a documentary, it was a personal attack, and he has no idea of Bush's motives or even the way Bush thinks. I don't agree with everything President Bush has done, but if I were to try and create an anti-Bush documentary, I certainly wouldn't make it so personal with fewer facts than sarcasm.

5 out of 5 stars "Fool Me Once, Shame On You! Fool Me Twice...".......2007-08-14

I used to be a Conservative Republican. I voted for George Bush in 2000. I used to think Michael Moore was a big fat, disgustiung ogre who had a chip on his shoulder against President Bush. Watching him up there on the stage at the Oscars giving his acceptance speech in 2003 enraged me at the time. But one year after the Iraq war, things started coming unraveled that would change my faith in the GOP and give this movie an honest look.

More and more, I started hearing about bad intelligence. One was the fact that Iraq had "NO" weapons of mass destruction, as alleged by the Bush Administration. Intelligence made up by the CIA had us believing Hussein was manufacturing Uranium in the African country of Niger. That intelligence was rebuked by PBS's Frontline story, "The Dark Side" and lead to the outing of CIA agent, Valerie Plame by Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, L. "Scooter" Libby. Another was the fact that the Patriot Act was never scrutinized when it was passed. This was information I already knew prior to watching this film. Democrats never stood up and questioned the blatant violation of the First Ammendment for fear of being, "Unpatriotic". But what put me over the edge was the fact that Saddam Hussein was made a scapegoat to coverup the Bin-Laden/Bush linkage.

I sincerely wonder if the Administration knew about 9/11and did nothing to stop it. There are so many questions that Michael Moore asked in this film that were never asked by the mainstream press (FOX, CNN,NBC, ABC, CBS). That leads me to believe, either the Americans are dumb or just plain stupid for not. Judging from the results of the 2004 election, Americans have only themselves to blame for this debacle for not getting rid of the problem. Me included!

Whatever your feelings on Michael Moore, you owe it to yourself to watch this film. Take the name Moor out of the mix and imagine it was made by someone else. At least get both sides of the story and make a honest judgement on President George W. Bush and his decisions.

5 out of 5 stars Important movie.......2007-08-05

If only we had listened to the message in this movie, Kerry and the country could have begun the long process of rebuilding from the disaster that is GW Bush four years earlier than how it turned out. Not that Ohio wasn't stolen or anything....

5 out of 5 stars Nailed It!.......2007-07-10

The guys a documentary genius. I don't like some of the ambush tactics he uses in his films, but never-the-less, he's usually dead on. Those who love him and those who hate him can argue all day long, but he's yet to lose a libel suit. If you haven't seen this film before, or since the war started, check out a copy. It's more on the mark today in reflection than it even was during it's release. Too bad the news is so controlled today, otherwise they'd be running Bush out of town for all the lies and damage he's done to this country and it's security. Of course if you are one of the 17% remaining with W's on your car that are still looking under rocks for WMD and think that W can walk on water, than this one is not for you, or your blook pressure. Check out Sicko while you are at it. Everyone can agree what a mess our health care is, and Sicko will make you sick at how Washington does nothing while people suffer.

One of the most shocking events in modern American history gets a skilled and respectful treatment in United 93. The movie begins by following the four terrorists who hijacked the plane that never reached its target on 9/11/2001, tracking them as they enter the airport and wait for their flight, surrounded by the people who will die from their actions. From there, it cuts to and fro among air traffic controllers and the military as, gradually, it becomes clear that planes are being hijacked and crashed into buildings. As the focus turns to the captive United Flight 93, the passengers discover, due to cell phone connections with family, that they're on a suicide mission and--almost paralyzed by stress and anxiety--decide to fight back. Most movies create tension by implying what might happen, but with United 93 the audience knows exactly what happened: Every person on that plane died. As a result, the movie is more relentlessly gut-wrenching than suspenseful (though the dawning realization of the air traffic controllers has an effective creeping dread). But writer/director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy) manages to keep the scale of the events human; there are no glamorous heroics, only terrifying confusion and desperate, hopeless bravery. One can only hope the movie brings some peace to the families of the passengers, as United 93 is the cinematic equivalent of a war memorial, commemorating lives lost in a moment of horrible, harrowing conflict. --Bret Fetzer

3 out of 5 stars Too Egalitarian to Honor the Heroes.......2007-09-17

While this film does a great job of portraying the horror of the events and the evil of the terrorists, I can only give it three stars out of five because of too many grievances I have with it.

There were four men who made names for themselves on this flight: Todd Beamer, Tom Burnett, Jeremy Glick and Mark Bingham. Only Burnett and Glick are recognizable in this movie. For most of the movie, I thought the actor playing Mark Bingham was supposed to be Beamer until he was swearing like a sailor which seemed out of character. Then I thought maybe he was Glick until the Glick character said his name on a phone call. I should not have had to do an internet search to figure out who the characters were.

The biggest rallying cry of 9/11 came from Todd Beamer's, "Let's roll," but when I saw this in theaters I didn't hear it at all. On video, I had to play back the ending a second time to find out that Beamer's famous statement is whispered so quietly in this movie you can barely hear it over the engine noise. Then, after all the passengers seem to ignore him, he says, "Let's go" - and they continue to sit in their seats! Later, it is Glick who is shown leading the charge, but not in response to "Let's roll."

Of those four, only Glick's family is interviewed in the documentary. In the commentary, Greengrass does not even mention Beamer's name. He just says, "That's the actor, David Alan Basche." It's up to us to figure out the character's name. Why the subtle downplaying of the biggest folk hero on the plane? He hardly even got any screen time. But to watch this film, you would think every passenger in the plane was equally heroic in the fight against the cockpit. Excuse me, but I don't honestly believe the trembling, crying women were battling the terrorists. I'm sorry.

This is why the movie did not do well at the box office. We wanted a movie that showed us our heroes. Instead, we got a lot of egalitarian, "Everybody's a hero" hogwash. To see the heroism that was, we have to see the TV movie, Flight 93, instead.

5 out of 5 stars stunning..........2007-09-10

I finally brought myself to watch this film always fearful that I just was not ready for a 9/11 film. This is exquisite filmaking about the toughest day in our history for many Americans. Shot in documentary style with no star power but solid acting all around. Paul Greengrass respectfully chronicles the last flight of United 93 as passengers and crew arrive and terroists prep themselves for their mission. Knowing what will happen and watching the events unfold was riveting. I felt myself unable to move. It's gutwrenching at times especially as flight controllers watch the towers get hit right across the river from them. The crew and passengers of United 93 turn from passengers to heroes as they become aware of what's going on and that other flights have been rammed into the towers and the pentagon. That American can-do spirit leaves you feeling that we can overcome any horrible terror by coming together. An unbelievable movie experience. Be prepared to shed a tear and to feel some gutwrenching but do watch it.

5 out of 5 stars A Movie Worth Seeing.......2007-09-04

September 11, 2001 will live in infamy just as December 7, 1941. Both days are extremely important in America's history. This movie does something different. It's a chance for us to not only remember the day but celebrate the bravery of the passengers on one flight on that tragic day.

Definitely a move worth seeing. Beautiful, passionate, and well directed. This day will live with all of us for the rest of our lives. A movie like this helps us to remember that some people on that day showed their bravery and hopefully it will inspire us.

I recommend that everybody should see this. You'll definitely look at life differently.

5 out of 5 stars With the blessings of the familes..........2007-08-22

As previous reviewers have said, this is a difficult film to watch; some say it's too soon, but the total unbelievability of the events of 9/11 are screaming, still, for answers. In the brilliant hands of British director Paul Greengrass, we have a film of passion, confusion, and full-circle resolution that is presented with the utmost care and concern; and profound respect. I was fascinated, riveted to the screen, and terribly moved by the film. The DVD extras, interviews with the famiies, are quite moving. This is really a film to be seen by all, if only to let people know that evil can be overcome with grit and determination. There is definitely strength in numbers. Bravo to the editors, the humility to those relatively unknown actors playing the parts, and to Paul Greengrass for delivering a sad slice of American history with such sensitivity.

5 out of 5 stars Historical tradegies make for difficult film review. .......2007-08-19

Reviewing this film is difficult as there seems to be two camps at work here that will find fault with whatever one writes about this important film.

I would like to take time to address these camps as in introduction to my review. Some argue that this moment in our history is so terrible, so ungodly, so inhumane and still so raw in our memory that any attempts by Hollywood to reproduce that time is an insult to the memory of the victims and shows Hollywood for all its callousness and greed. I agree that some passage of time is necessary for us to heal from pain, but we can't ignore that the medium of film is a form of memorial as much as any plaque, statue, or monument. In addition, one should recognize that film can be and often is a cathartic experience that allows us to express our hurt and, thus, aid in the healing process. Therefore, it is not, in my view, so questionable for Hollywood to make a film about a fairly recent tragedy, but it is questionable whether boycotting such films serves the purposed intended by those who believe we should.

Should we boycott such films as Schindler's List, Pearl Harbor, and all other such films based upon true tragedies because one can view them as profiteering off of another's pain? I would think that it is more important that we never forget the various tragedies in history and film does assist with that. How about boycotting films about natural disasters, famous murders and murderers or films about those mentally or physically challenged? Isn't someone profitting off of these tragedies as well? Shouldn't we boycott them as well? I think this is all just too extreme. Yes, films need to make a profit, but that doesn't mean a film is devoid of purpose or that it can't be beneficial to many outside of weighing box-office receipts. Can these films, while making a profit, not provide a fitting tribute to those victims and the survivors, and, in the end, provide some comfort? I think so.

The other problem with Hollywood, and it's been around since the silent era, is the viewpoint or vision presented by those making a film. As far as a film being bias with the writer's or director's unique perspective, or an actor's interpretation of a character (real or not) is a rather moot point as that is a given with ANY film. It is THEIR take on a topic just as an impressionistic painter is creating his view of something onto canvass. The medium is different, but both have a right to their perspective. I do agree, however, that when dealing with great human tragedy one must be very careful in how he interprets and presents facts, but one's personal bias can rarely ever be objectively overcome no matter the medium of expression. If this is all new to you, then you need to stop watching films completely until you come to terms with this reality as this has been around since the dawn of film making.

For those that criticize Hollywood for "taking advantage of the victims and their survivors" let's not ignore that the families connected to this film gave their stamp of approval for it to be made (Hollywood rarely ever even asks for that) and were extremely satisfied with the end result. Also, a portion of the money made from this film benefits them (via a memorial). That is rarely done in Hollywood and they deserve some praise for that. So much for callous greed. This also means that boycotting this film may actually be hurtful to these families that deserve whatever we can give them either monetarily or via a memorial.

The other camp in relation to making films about historical tragedies finds that any criticism of the film an insult to the memory of the people in which the film relates. Sadly, these folks have difficulty seeing the difference between criticizing a film and criticizing people or an event. I was a bit disappointed with Oliver Stone's World Trade Center for cinematic reasons, but I quickly found myself defending my own patriotism in the comment section of that review (that section has since been "edited"). I ran into similar issues when criticizing the recent Disney TV remake of The Miracle Worker (the true story of Helen Keller). Criticizing such films does not make me unamerican or intolerant of those with disabilities. Finding fault with "United 93" doesn't mean one doesn't appreciate what those individuals went through that day. The film may be based on true events, but that doesn't mean the film itself or the director's vision is flawless.

Now there is one other camp at work here, and they are the "conspiracy theorists" who have decided to use this forum not to review a film, but rather to exploit the victims of 9/11 in a manner worse than anything Hollywood could do and indirectly cause much more harm to us than what the terrorists did on that fateful day. We have the right to freedom of speech, but we are expected to use that appropriately too. I can't yell "FIRE" in a crowded movie theater without criminal consequences. In that light, I don't march, shout obsenities, or picket the funerals of our soldiers because I may not believe in a war our country asked them to fight as that is not MORALLY my place to exercise my so-called freedom of speech and is unnecessarily hurtful to others who are already suffering. This is called using discretion and it's what our founding fathers expected us to use.

To read on here, in what is supposed to be just reviews for a film, and find what are merely personal assertions (with little or no facts), propaganda by groups seeking "the truth" (as long as it fits their myopic views), and slander regarding that tragic day on 9/11 without regard for the individuals truly involved is rather disheartening and certainly self-serving by those involved who have little concept of the "truth" other than some website they try to direct us to which often contain little more than hearsay, doctored photographs, and other such nonsense.

Even if I agreed with all these conspiracy theorists and "9/11 Truth" groups and I ignored any and all evidence to the contrary and sincerely believed that the events of 9/11 were the result of an "inside job", television special effects, government propaganda, fantasy and so forth, I would NEVER think of so vocally expressing that here, which may be my right, because if I am wrong in my assertion, the harm I would inflict on the actual families and friends of those who personally suffered from the events of 9/11 would be unthinkable to me. I have read far too many "this was all faked by the government" or "it never happened" comments and "reviews" (I use the term loosely here) that I can't imagine the deep hurt experienced by those who truly did lose loved ones that day even though I am one of them." For me, personally, this is beyond cruel and literally inflicts more harm than anything the terrorist did that day. Are we ALL allowed our opinion? YES, but some descretion is called for in such extreme situations such as those connected to 9/11 and some form of decency, respect, and discretion should be paramount before we open our mouths or type on the computer.

Now having addressed both camps and the conspiracy theorist group that have more than made themselves know here by commenting, sometimes viciously, on one's review I offer my perspective on this film. "United 93" is an extraordinary film that plays out more as a small independent docu-drama than a traditional big-budget Hollywood film. Paul Greengrass's direction is straight-forward, confident and unobtrusive; however, his script faults in just a few places where some stilted dialogue is present. His brilliant casting of unknowns (actors or even the real people involved in some cases) was a respectful move in order to not promote a specific star's career and this allowed the focus to be on the real-life characters portrayed within the film with no distractions.

In addition, while some have criticized the film for being overly speculative, I found it rather fair treatment of events that unfolded that day as careful analysis of cell/plane calls, witness testimonies (some even by phone), news reports, aircraft recording devices, government documents, and so forth were the foundation for much of what was presented in this film. Contrary to the callousness of our conspiracy theorists there is no solid evidence for Greengrass to consider of United 93 being shot down or having landed in some secret location. In fact, all the evidence concretely contradicts these ludicrous notions. There speculative moments within the film as we can't know exactly what was said and done at all times on that flight; however, ALL films, I'll say it again, ALL films on true events are speculative by nature and events are often open to interpretations. I simply found this film to be realistic and fair based upon what was known about that day. I felt good judgment was used in presenting what happened and what most likely happened that day on United 93.

Our heroes, as presented in this film, where very much the way I imagine them to be: ordinary people who were scared to death. There was no Jason Bourne or John McClane onboard United 93, just everyday ordinary people placed in an extraordinary situation. Some were too scared to do anything, some were in a state of panic, some prayed for deliverance, some just hoped for the best, and some took desparate measures. ALL were heroes for facing what I would never want to face myself. Facing death, even when afraid of it, is heroic, especially when it is forced upon us.

The film is in "real time" and that heightens the tension and our appreciation for what those poor souls experienced that day. This allows the story to move brisquely and with purpose as it demonstrates the overall feeling of confusion that occured that day. Most of us could not believe what was happening and it didn't matter if we were the everyday guy on the street, a government official, a pilot, or a teacher in the middle of a lesson as I was that day. We were all caught off guard and in disbelief and this film captures that well. There are no unnecessary diverging scenes within this film.

I found this film to be generally flawless (except for some dialogue problems at times), one of the best of 2006, and a fitting tribute to those who so bravely faced what most of us would find unimaginable. "United 93" is a haunting, frightening, realistic, moving film, and a triumph of the human spirit. I know that is a cliche term, but it is most fitting here.

In conclusion it important to observe that we all lost something on 9/11, some indirectly and some directly. As former New Yorkers, my wife and I lost co-workers, friends, and a sense of security oddly found in the skyline of that great city that no longer looks as it did when we last were there. We both worked in and around The World Trade Centers (I actually witnessed them be built). I worked at the base in a department store and my wife worked on the 96th floor for a bank. It's hard to imagine that most of our co-workers and friends from there are gone. I have yet to return to New York, but I know I will one day; I must. In the meantime, I find films like "United 93" to be an emotional outlet, a reminder of the fragility of life and the evil man is capable of committing, and the fight to survive that is in all of us.

This is why I defend the making of such films on 9/11 and why I'm also so appalled at the callousness of some here abusing their freedom of speech by shouting such obscenities as "this didn't happened", "it's a big cover-up", or "it's all fiction" and back it up with websites that are an insult to the memory of those who perished that day. I guess my friend present at the WTC didn't see that plane hit it as she said she did. It was television special effects or a bomb planted by our government to mislead us. I guess both the flight recorder and those who spoke to loved ones on United 93 moments before the attempt to break into the cockpit had it all wrong as well as they were "shot down by our own Air Force" or "landed safely in a secret location" as our conspiracy theorists claim or have doctored photos to "prove it." My dad once told me that it is "better to be silent and only thought to be a foul then to open your mouth and remove all doubt about it."

Those of us who witnessed or were otherwise connected to 9/11 have it all wrong and have been fooled by the government that set out this elaborate plan (in which it would take thousands to orchestrate and keep secret) to kill thousands of American lives and destroy national landmarks in order to create a war for fun while wrecking the already financially crippled airline industry and putting a death grip on our overall economy that would take years to recover. The same people who would have us believe that utter nonsense are now shouting how we should dishonor those we lost that day by pretending the events of 9/11 never happened and check out their websites to review doctored "evidence." I think not. These individuals embarrass themselves only assist at rubbing salt in a hard to heal wound that was made by the terrorists that clear day on September 11th. A day that should be remembered as it was and not as we would like it to have been.

On October 20, 2001, this now-historic concert took place at Madison Square Garden, a mere six weeks after the horrific terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Thousands of firefighters, police officers, survivors, families, and fans witnessed a once-in-a-lifetime event as, in the space of nearly six hours, many legendary musical performers donated their time and their talent to one of the greatest causes ever, in the process giving their audience an unforgettable burst of pure emotion.

Organized by Sir Paul McCartney, the Concert for New York City was an overwhelming experience that deserves to be saved for posterity. The two-CD audio recording is crammed with dozens of superb performances but doesn't give a sense of the whole show that this two-DVD set certainly does. Not only can we relive such seminal performers from that evening as the Who, David Bowie, John Mellencamp, and Sir Paul himself, we can see the charming and personal short films made for the occasion by such New York filmmakers as Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese, or the dozens of celebrities and unsung firefighters and police officers who immortalized that day with their stories and musical introductions.

There is one quibble: the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris," one of the blues standards Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy played, and McCartney's "From a Lover to a Friend" and "Lonely Road" are all missing, which seems curious, considering that the entire show could have easily fit onto two DVDs. So don't erase that videotape you made of the concert the night it aired, because that remains the definitive version. But this DVD (with very good Dolby 5.1 surround sound) comes close. --Kevin Filipski

This is an awesome 2 disk concert. I saw it at a friend's house & went home & purchased it the next day. Very, very good live performances by every artist imaginable, at Madison Square Garden.

3 out of 5 stars not the whole concert.......2007-05-29

This is the 9/11 concert in MSG - it is not the full concert, U2's brilliant performance is not on this... very disappointing to find that out so buyer beware.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent except it has been censored.......2007-05-28

This video is great except it has been censored. My wife and I watched it live and when Hillary Clinton came out, she was boo'd but when we bought the video and watched it, they replaced the boo's with cheers. It should have been left the way it was.

The producer must be related to Michael Moore!

3 out of 5 stars The prevailing winds...........2006-12-04

One star off that this set was edited at all; another star off for the extent of editing reported, which twists the sentiment expressed into political propaganda.

THE CONCERT FOR NEW YORK CITY is chock-full of remarkable performances and extraordinary emotion. Two moments in particular stand out for this reviewer and make this a must-have set.

The first came midway through the evening. Richard Gere mounted the stage and committed the single bravest act I'd ever witnessed. From the care taken with his wording, Gere must've had a good measure of the audience, caught as it was between two very strong emotions -- keening for its losses and raging for retribution -- so the crowd dissolving into a booing mob could've come as no surprise. (Me, I jumped to my feet, applauded and wept.) Still, Gere plainly hoped -- and I hoped along with him -- that some WOULD hear, that the events of 9/11 HADN'T robbed America (or the world) of rational thought, that the dream of our world at peace LIVED.

Since that night, I have longed to convey two words to Mr. Gere: THANK YOU.

America had one moment when the majority of the world stood by our side. We could've worked real miracles, but baser reactions stirred the country to seek blood-for-blood instead and the elect chose to betray rather than serve by debasing themselves before the mob. And now the bloodless battle for peace must begin anew. As Elton John once sung ("Seasons Reprise", ASIN B000001DXH), "For our world / the circle turns again." We have fallen from immeasurable heights, but we can rise, too, with new or renewed understanding. And hope.

The second moment that makes this set memorable comes at the end. No bravery, but the moment made me weep as well, mournful tears, for when Macartney introduced his anthem for the evening, "Freedom", the emphasis sat squarely on the edict to "FIGHT!" and spill even more blood. The sentimental appendage, "for freedom", rang hollow, as no more than an afterthought, weak-voiced and wavering, audience participation dwindling fast. Sad, but then Paul never was the Beatles' political mastiff.

No, for what it's worth, I don't expect a single reader will click Yes to say this review was helpful to them. But I HOPE, even so.

4 out of 5 stars Sandler and Cheadle both shine in this........2007-09-03

I saw this at the theaters and it totally blew me away. First off, while the movie has it's funny moments between Sandler and Cheadle, it is NOT, I repeat, NOT a comedy. Don't expect Happy Gilmore/Billy Madison from Sandler in this as his character is a very troubled widower who deals with his loss in his own eccentric ways. Sandler gives a heartfelt performance as Charlie Fineman, a former Dentist who lost his wife and three children in 9/11. Don Cheadle plays his old college roomate who hasn't seen him in many years. They run into each other a few times and start to rekindle their friendship. Cheadle's character attempts to sympathize with Sandler's character, but opens up a volatile and dangerous side in him. Great movie, go see it and enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Slow going at times, but powerful - great performances :->.......2007-09-01

I wanted to see this movie for a couple of reasons. First, because I liked the premise of it and second because I'm such a big fan of Adam Sandlers and I wanted to see him step out of his comedy roles and do some drama. He was excellent in this.
He plays Charlie Fineman who lost his wife and two children in a plane on 9/11. He was Alan Johnsons (Don Cheadle) former college roomate and the two had lost touch for many years. One day by chance, the two are brought together again and Alan finds it really hard to accept Charlie as he is now since the loss of his family (he withdrew from the world and became very reclusive). Yet they rekindle their friendship and help each other out at times in their lives where they are both going through hard times.
This is a little long winded in parts, but the acting is great and the story line is ultimately lovely. Adam does a great job here and Don Cheadle is brilliant as always. His wife is played well by Jada Pinket Smith. I enjoyed this a lot and am so glad I finally got around to watching it. It's very moving and anyone with a heart should enjoy this movie. I highly recommend it.

The political becomes personal in 9/11: Press for Truth, which examines the World Trade Center attacks from the perspective of the families who lost loved ones. Written and directed by Ray Nowosielski, the documentary draws partly from Paul Thompson's website-turned-book, The Terror Timeline, and much of the commentary comes from Lorie Van Auken, Patty Casazza, and Mindy Kleinberg, three of the "Jersey Girls." Along with Kristen Breitweiser, the 9/11 widows have become activists in its wake. As Casazza says, "We all had questions...and wanted answers." The primary one was: How could this happen? Interestingly, two of the women voted for Bush. Casazza adds, "Even though he should have been our biggest advocate, he turned into one of our biggest adversaries." Together with eight other spouses, parents, etc., they form the Family Steering Committee and lobby for an independent commission, which comes to pass, but fails to deliver the goods. The widows find more useful information in Thompson's timeline, which he compiled using material in the public domain (Thompson also appears in the film). The style of 9/11: Press for Truth couldn't be more conventional--talking heads, television footage, omniscient narrator, relentless score--but the personal approach makes it a valuable addition to the rapidly-growing list of 9/11 documentaries. The point is, to quote Patti Smith, "people have the power"--people like the Jersey Girls, Paul Thompson, and all the other ordinary citizens who have kept pressure on our elected officials and the news media to dig deeper and work harder. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Description

The Coverup Exposed By The 9/11 Families

"They lied, they all lied." --Patty Casazza (one of the "Jersey Girls")

"We don't know the whole story, not at all" -- Lorie Van Auken (one of the "Jersey Girls")

"9/11 was the biggest 'don't ask-don't tell" --Sally Regenhard, lost Firefighter son.

"Press for Truth" is an astonishing portrayal of the lengths our public servants will go to protect themselves from any accountability. --Scott Horton, Antiwar.com

Although independent investigations began within weeks of both Pearl Harbor and the Kennedy assassination, the same was not true of the attacks of September 11th. Most are unaware that formation of the 9/11 Commission was strongly opposed by many in Washington, including the Bush administration. It was only due to pressure from the 9/11 families, led by a particular twelve calling themselves the Family Steering Committee, that, fourteen months after the attacks, the first hearing finally began. These twelve remained active in monitoring the Commission's investigation, providing a list of hundreds of specific, well-researched questions to the Commissioners. In the end, the 9/11 Commission Final Report failed to answer seventy percent of them.

In 9/11 PRESS FOR TRUTH, five of the most prominent members of the Family Steering Committee, including interviews with three of the "Jersey Girls," tell their story for the first time, providing the most powerful argument yet for why 9/11 still needs investigation. Adapting Paul Thompson's definitive Complete 9/11 Timeline (published by Harper-Collins as The Terror Timeline), the filmmakers stitch together rare, overlooked news clips, buried stories, and government press conferences, revealing a pattern of official lies, deception, and spin.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Lots of unanswered questions.......2007-09-06

This is frustrating to watch because there is so much we don't know about 9/11 and nobody seems to care. Very well made & produced.

4 out of 5 stars Well-crafted 9/11 documentary, good intro to 9/11 Truth.......2007-08-22

This film is a quality, professional production that details many of the glaring lies and contradictions in the U.S. Government's story about the 9/11 Attacks. It shows many mainstream acknowledged details about foreknowledge of attacks and exposes connections between the CIA, Pakistani ISI, and Bin Laden's Al Qaeda fighters. It could have gone much farther in presenting damning evidence, but it sticks to the details that support a "let it happen on purpose" hypothesis. The film relies heavily on Paul Thompson's timeline surrounding 9/11 and the efforts of the Jersey widows to get the government to respond to their questions about 9/11. Their testimony reveals that most of their questions and concerns were ignored by the government, as a majority of 9/11 families now support further investigation and distrust the government. This movie shows that the 9/11 Truth movement honors the dead and their families by seeking the truth and justice pertaining to those events. Those who truly dishonor the families of those killed in the attacks are the government and media gangsters who suppress new investigations and defend the litany of lies offered by the government.

3 out of 5 stars Doesn't go far enough..........2007-08-19

This is a good movie which gently exposes the Truth of 9/11 but it does not cover the real conspiracy behind the crime.

4 out of 5 stars A careful, low-key conspiracy theory expose.......2007-08-08

As someone who long ago abandoned belief in the "official" story, it seems to me that the strength of this film is its introduction of the basics of the alternative explanations of what really happened, in a manner so matter-of-fact that the average viewer will not be so quick to deny them. This, and the conventional, mainstream sources sited position this as a potential breakthrough film for the 9/11 truth movement.

Anyone open-minded and interested enough to want more info should check out The Terror Timeline, written by Paul Thompson, the "citizen journalist" that appears in the film. Although the information in this book is certainly highly suggestive on its own merits, Mr. Thompson has taken an even-handed approach that allow individuals to draw their own conclusions.

She stole your heart (or turned your stomach, depending on your perspective) with her show-stealing delivery in the hit documentary The Aristocrats. With Jesus Is Magic, comedienne extraordinaire Sarah Silverman is hell-bent on marking her own territory. Jesus Is Magic is a more or less a one-hour variety show, littered with musical numbers and comedic vignettes wedged between video footage of her live act. Though humorous in parts, most of the vignettes and songs are a little bland. You can't help but think they are mere fillers to stretch the film to an hour. The real essence of the film, however, is Sarah Silverman live on stage, mic in hand, delivering the goods. After sitting through Jesus, you will undoubtedly feel Sarah Silverman's magic and find her extremely funny. You may, however, not be able to pinpoint why. Silverman's act is extremely crass, vulgar, obnoxious, disgusting, heavy on race-laced humor, and downright gross in parts. The amazing thing about Sarah Silverman's material is that if you repeated it to a friend, or read it in an article, you probably would think it was base, childish, and just not that funny. But what makes the material sparkle is Sarah's deadpan, blunt, matter-of-fact delivery and perfect comedic timing. Not to mention she is super foxy, which has a way of amplifying her humor for better or worse. Jesus Is Magic is proof that Sarah Silverman is the smartest and funniest comedienne on the circuit today. We just hope the next release is a full performance, minus the filler. --Rob Bracco

    Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars As funny as she is good looking.......2007-09-10

Sarah Silverman hits hard in this comedy special. Racy, fun, and extremely entertaining, she kept me laughing the entire time. Though her humor is not for everyone, it's a great buy if you're a fan of the TV show or her comedy in general.

    4 out of 5 stars Pretty Awesome.......2007-06-27

The stand-up is spectacular. I was kind of annoyed/disappointed by the bits in between. I love Bob Odenkirk. I mean, LOVE him. Yet, I didn't like his role in this movie. He wasn't used correctly.

    3 out of 5 stars not great.......2007-06-19

She's more politically incorrect than funny. I groaned and rolled my eyes more than I laughed out loud. If I had been watching it with friends who would have been offended, I would have felt even worse. But can she sing! She should concentrate on that.

2 out of 5 stars Long Way to Go.......2007-06-10

About 20% of her material is genuinely funny. Most polished professional comedians can breath easy. Silverman has a long way to go before she can be fairly considered a great comedian. Right now she's coasting on her cuteness and her willingness to say absolutely anything for a cheap shocked giggle. Sort of a good looking female Borat. What happens when her cute-girl-with-a-filthy-mouth schitck gets old and people start to ask, "what else ya got"?

3 out of 5 stars Sarah Siverman is quite funny, but this needs more polishing.......2007-06-06

I am a Sarah Siverman fan as she is one of very few comics, especially female, to let it all hang out and see what happens. Her dark humor may be very insulting to those who are easilt offended, but to me the more un-pc that she is, the funnier I find her.

While I did not see this with high expectations as I am not a huge fan of stand-up acts (which is what this piece is at its core), even those werer not fully met. Sarah is cute, funny, and her play on words would have made for a good 20 minute short. Instead we get over an hour of songs, skits, and other filler, to try and give it some air by getting out off the stage. Some stuff works, some works for a while, and some is just not funny.

If you are a fan, rent it and watch it with other Sarah fans, and you'll have on OK time. Now that Margaret Cho has become almost an irrelevant one trick pony, Sarah is one of the few truly funny females around who mixes it up. If anyone saw the 2007 MTV Movie Awards and found her funny, you could do much worse than seeing this as most "comedy" movies are just not very funny. Humor is hard work and Sarah is an impish little marvel who I'd love to see in a more fully realized vehicle.

25th Hour is a eulogy, mourning the New York of post-September 11, 2001, and the regrettable life of one of the city's least reputable citizens. Monty Brogan (Edward Norton) isn't a bad guy--in fact he's a mensch, adopting a battered dog in the film's mood-setting opening scene, and leading a decent life with his girlfriend (Rosario Dawson)... when he's not dealing narcotics. Facing a seven-year prison term, Monty spends his last free night with pals (Barry Pepper, Philip Seymour Hoffman) and visiting his understanding father (Brian Cox), while a Russian drug lord pressures him for getting busted. Lee directs this plotless, no-win scenario as the last gasp of a guy with nowhere to go, and the film (written by David Benioff, from his own novel) suffers from a similar loss of potential, lacking enough focus to make Monty's odyssey compelling. Instead, 25th Hour (which also costars Anna Paquin) rambles from scene to lazy scene, vaguely lamenting that lives have been wasted, some by terrorism, others by self-destruction. --Jeff Shannon

    Description

Academy Award(R)-nominee Edward Norton (Best Actor, 1999, AMERICAN HISTORY X) heads an amazing all-star cast in the critically acclaimed Spike Lee (SUMMER OF SAM, DO THE RIGHT THING) film 25th HOUR. In 24 short hours Monty Brogan (Norton) goes to prison for seven long years. Once a king of Manhattan, Monty is about to say good-bye to the life he knew -- a life that opened doors to New York's swankest clubs but also alienated him from the people closest to him. In his last day on the outside, Monty tries to reconnect with his father (Brian Cox, THE BOURNE IDENTITY), and gets together with two old friends, Jacob (Philip Seymour Hoffman, ALMOST FAMOUS) and Slaughtery (Barry Pepper, THE GREEN MILE). And then there's his girlfriend, Naturelle (Rosario Dawson, MEN IN BLACK 2), who might (or might not) have been the one who tipped off the cops. Monty's not sure of much these days, but with time running out, there are choices to be made as he struggles to redeem himself in the 25th hour.

4 out of 5 stars Decent mind trip of a movie........2007-03-31

Gives an interesting look of a post 9/11 drug dealer in New York on his last day of freedom before going to prison. Edward Norton is supported by some really good character actors like Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Barry Pepper and Rosario Dawson.

5 out of 5 stars One of Spike Lee's Best.......2007-03-17

This is an unusual movie for Spike Lee. Its one of the few movies that he has maed that really holds your attention from start to finish and does not feature some snarky slam on white people.

Ed Norton is the star here as a yuppie who has messed his life up. Norton's yuppie is the sort of ordinary guy who most folks can identify with. Norton's character has reached a crossroads where he has three choices: Go on the lam, commit suicide or go to prison where his good looks ensure that he will be subjected to homosexual rape.

Before he makes his decision, Norton's felon wants to see 3 people: His retired fireman father, his best friend and his second best friend. There are other characters who he must deal with such as his girlfriend and some gangsters who push heroin.

In the hands of a lesser filmmaker, all of the above elements would add up to a mess. However, Spike Lee is able to balance everything together into a perfect equilibrium that results in a strong movie.

If you want to see a great movie by Spike Lee, then the 25th Hour is a great choice.

    4 out of 5 stars Wondeful ending..........2007-03-10

Great movie. You have doubts about it pretty much until the end. However, when you are done watching it...it hits you that the movie is just simply great.

Movie is about this man named Monty (Norton) who gets caught in his drug dealing and is sentenced to prison for 7 years. His last night, he goes out with friends, does things he wants to do, etc. He basically wants to live the best night before he goes to jail and lives a miserable life there. The other character's stories are briefly told and it works out beautifully because the movie spends just the right amount of time on each one.

Great acting. All characters pretty much played their part to the max. Plot is ok. Its not incredibly unique but it has some good elements. What makes this movie great is its ending. Also, the relationship Monty has with everyone surrounding him is excellent. It deeply shows the feelings he has for each.

Overall, its a pretty good movie. At first its a little slow and some camera angles are awkward at times, but if you want to see something a little different, i really recommend it.

2 out of 5 stars Great Idea Awful filmmaking.......2007-02-28

I expected so much more from this movie considering the actors involved. The actors did a great job, but this film fell way short with story telling and flashbacks. There were too many flash blacks and they came at you in the wrong order.

I also hated the "multiple cuts" in the film that showed different angles of the same scene. These cuts didn't appear to be spliced together properly. It was simply aggravating. I am not aware of the proper technical terms for "multiple cuts" nor the "mirror image" mentioned below (sorry).

The way films were scened were also annoying. The scene at the brokerage firm had a "mirror image" of some characters talking to Barry Pepper's role. It took away from the scene. I am not sure why that "mirroring" was there since there wasn't a glass partition there.

Interesting scenes: Barry Pepper at the firm, Norton and his dad in the car, and Norton looking in the mirror with his character lambasting everyone

The way the film was presented, I thought a high school student put this together. Again, the acting was very good. The story had a good premise and interesting characters, but the execution was lacking.

This film was in need of focus and direction.

    5 out of 5 stars One of Lee's best.......2007-01-08

Spike Lee has some great gifts as a film maker. One is his ability to create chracters the audience can identify with and the other is to make the setting a character unto itself. 25th Hour was one of the first films shot in post 9/11 New York. Lee makes full use of this, showing how one city can play a big role in people's lives.

But 25th Hour is not about 9/11. 25th Hour is about friendship. It is about redemption. It is about uncertainty in the future. The film stars Edward Norton as a generally good man who unfortunately engaged in illegal activity and got caught. The film takes place on the final day before he is to serve his sentence and flashes back to the moments that led to his fate. We find him accepting of his fate, only questioning who and what led him to this moment. There is a brilliantly directed, much discussed scene where Norton is cursing the people of NYC, his friends, then finally himself as he stares at a reflection in a mirror. This is one of the single greatest scenes that define a character within a film.

This film has a brilliant script that focuses heavily not only on Norton, but two of his contrasting friends, played brilliantly by Barry Pepper and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Pepper is a sly Wall Street man who tries to be slick and even has an equation for his likelihood of success with women. Hoffman, in an untypically subtle understated performance, plays a shy seemingly shameful teacher. He serves as a counterbalance to Pepper. The way these two characters discuss themselves and their friend help define 25th Hour as a beautiful character piece.

This film's defining theme of an uncertain future is emphasized by the post 9/11 backdrop. One telling scene involves Hoffman and Pepper talking about Norton's possible future while we stare out Ground Zero in a window behind them. An uncertain future indeed...

Too good to be so short. When September Sessions reaches the end we feel that we are missing a lot of this film. High perfomance, relaxed pure surfing. The real spirit of surfing, no dollar paved waves. Refreshing body surfing footage. Even the bonus tracks deserve a look.

Jack Johnson did a great movie with awesome music! I love to put this in and just relax and hangout!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Surf Flick! .......2007-04-16

This is an excellent surf flick. My only knock about it is the fact that it's way too short of a film. That being said, the film couldn't have been any better. Machado has always been one of my favorite surfers and the guy just tears it up, while making it all look so effortless. As any surfer will tell you - it isn't as easy as these guys make it look. I also liked the fact that this film was really about soul surfing. There were no contests and none of the big wave riding that sometimes can be labeled as a different sport all together.

Everytime I watch this film I can't help but want to take all of my suits and ties out of the closet and drop them off at the local Good Will store. Then I would call my boss and tell him that I am done with the corporate world and off I will go to find my soul again. There is no sport in the world quite like surfing. I know, because I have pretty much played them all and nothing next to sex can even compare to catching that perfect wave. It is truly the greatest sport and the greatest feeling in the world.

Great job by Kelly Slater (the Michael Jordan of surfing) who produced this wonderful video. The stars in the film - Slater, Gerlach, Machado, etc... all of course rip it up, each in their own unique, smooth, artistic style. Musician and fellow surfer Jack Johnson created a great film that all surfers should enjoy (even soul papa long boarders) because of the beautiful scenery, footage, and of course Johnson's own soulful, serene music to boot. Like I stated earlier, the only thing that is a bit disappointing is the fact that this film is too damn short and it leaves you aching for more. That is the only reason I give it four stars instead of five. Other than that, you won't be disappointed.

    5 out of 5 stars Relaxing, chill...awesome surf flic.......2007-02-06

This movie isn't based around competitions, tow-in, or any real agressive surfing at all. It's just a group of close friends (copetitors in the past) that embark on a voyage to be one with the ocean. The waves aren't neccessarily the biggest, and the moves aren't neccessrily the most trend setting, but overall this is one of the best surfing movies I have ever watched. Great soundtrack and great surfing. Two thumbs up!

3 out of 5 stars Average surf movie.......2007-01-19

I'll start by saying that if you like a laid back-style surf movie, you'll probably enjoy this. I just felt like the filming wasn't very dynamic. It shows the same sort of shots over and over again and it didn't really give a sense of "being there." It's a good movie, but I think others like Odyssey, Step into Liquid and Black and White are better.

    Product Description

Rock Hudson stars with the ravishing Gina Lollobrigida in a racy, romantic romp (Motion Picture Herald) set on the breathtaking Italian Riviera.

Every September, this successful New York businessman (Hudson) visits his Italian villa to relax and to romance his Roman girlfriend (Lollobrigida). But after arriving unannounced one July day, he s in for a huge surprise! During his absence, the luxurious home has become a hotel. What s more, the current guest list accommodates a gaggle of American girls with persistent boys pinning after them. In a desperate attempt to regain control, Hudson manages to lose his privacy, his girlfriend and his mind until he comes up with a plan of his own.

This is the film in which Bobby Darin not only makes his feature debut, but also ends up marrying his lovely co-star, Sandra Dee, just ten days after filming wrapped. Come September also features beautiful camerawork by Greta Garbo s favorite cinematographer, William Davis, with designer Morton Haack creating Ms. Lollobrigida s exquisite gowns.

Hanging out at an Italian villa with Rock Hudson and Gina Lollobrigida sounds like a painless way to kill a vacation--and Come September is a pretty painless movie, too. Rock is a millionaire who spends a month at his home on the Riviera every year, except this year he's come early and surprised his staff, who've been running the place as a paying hotel. This is one of those comedies of sexual frustration--Rock can't get alone with Gina, because the "hotel" is overrun with American teenagers (chief among them Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin, who married after meeting on the shoot). The plot is labored, and director Robert Mulligan shows little feel for farce (he would shortly hit his stride with To Kill a Mockingbird). At least the location shooting has a nice summer breeze to it, and Darin sings "Multiplication" in a nightclub, complete with hepcat moves. --Robert Horton

    4 out of 5 stars Come September.......2007-09-11

This is among my favorites of the 1960's romantic comedies. The generational duel between Rock Hudson and Bobby Darin as they woo Gina Lollobrigida and Sandra Dee is hilarious. Victor Slezak is a gem as the major domo who turns Rock's beautiful villa into a top hotel for 11 months of the year until Come September. When Rock shows up early, he throws everyone into a panic as the staff attempts to prevent him from discovering that his villa is the "best hotel in town."

5 out of 5 stars A Classic Comedy, and Deservedly So.......2007-02-08

Once upon a time a fabulous group of actors got together to star in a frothy comedy set in the Italian Riviera: Rock Hudson, Gina Lollobrigida, Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin, Walter Zlezak, Brenda De Banzie, Joel Grey. It was 1960, in America we were dreaming of Camelot, and in sunny Italy a new prosperity was making life easier for most people. Those were, indeed, happier days. I look at this film with tremendous nostalgia. Everything in it is just about perfect. Rock reveals his gift for comedy in a very natural, spontaneous way. Gina is absolutely stunning: a perfect beauty, an ideal woman. The locations used for the film, at Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino, are breathtaking. A film I always go back to. This is a world I would like to inhabit.

I had heard that 'Come September' was a great movie, but I couldn't find it anywhere in town. [I live in Anchorage, AK, so it's kind of a quandry as to why I couldn't find it.] Anyhow, I found it on here, it was delivered quickly, and I loved it! It's one of the best romantic comedies I've ever seen.

A classic movie offering. Enjoy Bobby Darins screen debut with future wife Sandra Dee. Rock Hudson and Gina Lollabrigida make a fine couple as a counterpoint. Many laughs, some singing and romantic moments make this a good pick. Don't wait for September, see it now.
