Customer Reviews:
Quality we have come to expect from A&E.......2007-07-12
This compilation is an absolutely wonderful (and chilling) Pack of documentaries on three of history's most prolific serial killers, or in Gacy's case; mass murderers. The interviews could not be more informative, and they cover childhood until death (except manson, in which case he is interviewed). Manson's interview is a delve into the mind of a true monster, as you can equivocate from watching. I reccommend this set to anyone who would like more information reguarding Dahmer, Gacy, and Manson
for those with a strong stomach.......2007-07-05
Worth seeing.
There was nothing funny about this clown.
Might explain why some folks don't care for them.
Serial Killers.......2006-03-05
If you enjoy this type of DVD, you've got to read "Mind Hunter" by John Douglas (1995). He describes many actual crimes in graphic detail and explains how his unit profiles the offenders from clues. It's amazing. Beware however! After I read "Mind Hunter" I would freak & fear the worst when a loved one was 2 minutes late meeting me!
Very Informative.......2006-02-24
This item is a good purchase for anyone who is interested in they way serial killers think and act. With segments on Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy and Charles Manson, this set provides a insight into the minds of these serial killers. The criminal profiler segment is very interesting. However, I feel Charles Manson does not fit into the serial killer catagory. I would have rather seen a segment on Ted Bundy or Ed Gein. But it is still an item worth buying.
A look into the Criminal Mind.......2005-03-22
Anyone familiar with criminal profiling or forensic behavorial science will find this A&E documentary insightful. This documentary gives a brief historical perspective on how the FBI's BSU became such an intricate tool for law enforcement in solving serial homicide cases. It also documents the cases of some of the world's most notorious serial killers like: Gacy, Dahmer and the psychopath, Charles Manson. This is a great starting point for the criminalogist- but for deeper insights, explore the pioneering research works of Douglass and Ressler.

Wasn't for me........2007-01-22
I ordered this for my brother and I haven't seen it, it was for a school paper. So idk...
I love this movie!.......2006-07-17
It's so typical of Gacy to be a fat boring slob that enjoys the company of cute young men and it shows that here! The movie isn't done exactly in the way Gacy actually murdered but it gives you a good idea! They can't show you what actually happened to all those young boys, read "Killer Clown" for that, but the movie gives a good idea of what kind of man Gacy was. He was a manipulator and a sadist. It's a good "serial killer night" movie to add to your scary movie collection.
Bland and Boring.......2006-06-23
This is another of those tepid, silly "serial killer" movies that was obviously churned out to make a quick buck, and nothing more. Poorly acted, with a colorless script and astonishingly inept direction (from the equally inept writer), this one is an unequivocal dud. I would call it amateurish, but that would be an insult to the amateur filmmakers of the world, almost any of whom could have done better than this. This film is inexcusably lousy.
Close to the Facts.......2006-03-16
This movie follows the true story of John Wayne Gacy closely, but if you are as critical as I am you will notice many inconsistencies. Overall it would seem to be dull for those who do not find the lives of Serial Killer's fascinating.
Gacy.............2006-02-26
Friend,Neighbor,Killer...... John Wayne Gacy was all 3. Although not a true serial killer movie, the movie was pretty good. If you are a slasher movie fan, this movie is not for you for there is no gore and no bloody killing scenes. The movie starts off showing Gacy as a young boy on a hunting trip in the woods with his father. We see that his father would taunt him with insults and put downs. We then see Gacy as an adult who is married living what seemed to be a normal life. Gacy's mother lived with them also. To everyone who knew him, Gacy seemed the model citizen. He would throw parties and volunteered as a clown at the hospital. What everyone didn't know is that Gacy was a cold blooded murderer killing many young men. Neighbors start complaining about the awful odor coming from Gacy's basement. Gacy always passed this off as having had a sewer pipe broken. In actuality, the stench was coming from numerous bodies Gacy had buried in the crawlspace underneath his home. When the complaints got so bad, Gacy started using lime to cover up the smell. Gacy would sometimes pose as a police officer in order to lure young boys into his vehicle. He had his own construction type company and employed young men. When Gacy's wife finds sex toys he had hidden, she confronts him and he denies all but she is not convinced and leaves him. The killings go on as Gacy rides around and finds more victims. All of whom end up buried in the crawlspace of his home. Gacy kills so many young men, that he actually runs out of burial room. After an employee reports him to the police, they stake out his home which Gacy actually seemed to enjoy. Gacy would taunt the police and enjoyed playing a cat and mouse game with them. Eventually, he is caught and when local authorities visit the crawlspace to his home, they find Gacy's own gruesome "cemetery" crawling with maggots and roaches. It is then discovered that almost 30 bodies are buried there. Chicago was shocked to find out that they had such a serial killer living there like an ordinary citizen. This movie is interesting because it does give us a glimpse into the sick mind of Gacy. However it does so without horror and gore. I'd recommend renting this movie. I purchased it and don't regret it.
Product Description
Dahmer
A butcher. An animal. A monster. Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer (Jeremy Renner) was vilified when authorities discovered he'd murdered, dismembered, and even tried to consume the bodies of 17 young men in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. But is there such a thing as a human monster? Starting somewhere between popular legend and historical fact, Dahmer dares to explore the truth of a man many called an abomination of nature, but who was most decidedly a living, breathing person. Inspired by life events, it takes you into the demented world of this lonely factory worker and examines the ways in which his twisted personal pain led to the most selfdestructive extremes of human cruelty.
Ed Gein
Based on the true story of America's first famous serial killer. Everyone in small Plainfield, famous serial killer. Everyone in small Plainfield, Wisconsin thought ED was just a little different, a local oddity. But Ed was tormented and haunted by years of family abuse and repression which led to the brutal murders and multilations of countless victims and corpses. In a remote farmhouse filled with the stench of death, ED is driven to do unspeakable acts to his victims, acts that have become legend and the basis for future films like "Psycho" and the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
This firm will shock you with its unflinching horror, and unforgettable performances from Steve Railsback and Carrie Snodgress. No one will ever forget the true story of "Ed Gein,"

To Catch A Killer.......2007-06-19
I saw this film when it first came out on television. The film listed on this website is not the complete film. It has been cut from it's original version and format. To Catch A killer was just recienly on the Lifetime channel, and it is spli into to parts. This film is at least almost 4 hours long, and not 95 minutes. Anyone wanted to get this great film starring Brian Dennehey should try to search for the original un-cut version. To Catch A Killer is an intense, and horrifying depiction of the infamous killer (John Wayne Gasey), and the hard working dedicated detectives who built a case and to put this man away in prision where he needed to be.
I have the 95 minute VHS tape, but you are missing some of it's most griping moments in the 4 hour version, that any film collecter should want to own.
One of the best movies of the 1990's.......2006-03-22
Let me start by saying that i am not normally a fan of TV movies, i have often found them formulaic, bland compromised and badly acted. This film is superbly put together, while watching you cannot help but feel the pain of the victims and their famillies, the director took great pains to show the human side of the horrors which Gacy inflicted on Chicago. The face of this sadness is the detective who is hunting Gacy for the abduction and murder of teenagers, we see him deteriorating mentally throughout the film, often crying tears, he suffers physically and emotionally simply by being in proximity to the horror of the investigation. On the other hand we have Gacy played brilliantly by Dennehy, whoever cast him in this role deserves a lot of credit, he even looks like Gacy. Dennehy injects a massive amount of unpleasantness into his portrayal of the sadistic killer, when he leers and shows his teeth biting his lower lip as he taunts the cops you get the measure that this is a fully fleshed three dimensional monster you are watching. The film is extraordinarily sensitive to the subject matter and despite (or because of) being low on gore the overall effect is completely unsettling and incredibly disturbing, we do not see the horror but it is suggested brilliantly, from the droning noise of the furnace in Gacy's house to the puddles of filth accumulating on the surface of the soil in the crawlspace under his house where the bodies are buried, we take a peek into hell. The pacing and tension throughout the film is maintained well despite the long running time of over three hours. Again, the people who made the film should be congratulated that their work was not only immensely enjoyable, it really made me feel for the victims of this real-life monster - so few serial killer movies bother with the victims, relegating them to meat puppets to be ripped apart in the most vulgar way possible. The horror component of the film is just barely surpassed by the humanity of the detective at the end, in truth it seemed the detective was himself battling Gacy for possession of his own soul throughout. When asked how he feels after the gruesome discovery is made he utters a single word which couldn't be surpassed in my opinion...'sad'.
Perfect Choice For Dennehy To Play Gacy.......2005-07-27
I taped this off the tv i long time ago now, & i was astounded by Brian Dennehy's sheer power in this role, he is just so brilliant for the role, if you would put a photo of the real John Wayne Gacy alongside with one of Brian Dennehy, you would swear they are almost twins! Kudos goes to actor Michael Riley who played the detective detrmined to bring Gacy to justice for the brutal crimes Gacy commited, as a result of his relentless pursuit of Gacy, his home life suffers beacuse of this. One of the best acting roles of a real life Serial Killer i have ever seen.
AWESOME FILM!!!!!.......2005-07-02
This is probably the finest made for T.V.(true crime) movie ever made. Dennehy and Riley are absolutely superb. Check it out......
Brilliant Performance by Brian Dennehy!.......2005-04-17
He enjoys himself the most when he is playing villains like in this movie.

Diehard supporters of everyone's favorite anti-Pope will want Demystifying the Devil, if only because Marilyn Manson is all things to all of them--cutting-edge nu-nasty rock theater act or slacker antihero, you takes your choice. However, this very, very unauthorized--and unintentionally hilarious--biography (there's no footage of young Brian himself or his immediate musical circle other than a few seconds of blurry concert material) is also informative viewing for the merely curious. It mostly consists of rambling anecdotes from people who either were associated with him before he became famous or were ejected from his entourage, and it soon becomes clear that MM was and remains a genuinely talented visionary. If you're a fan, you'll have your faith confirmed. If you're not, you'll still end up feeling strangely pleased that both Manson and those he left behind are getting the respective levels of attention they deserve. --Roger Thomas

Manson Stinks........2004-03-15
Most overated sensation driven non-talented musical hack of our generation. Stay away....
for the serious collector.......2002-08-14
interesting for people like me who always want to know more about Manson, but if you are just a casual listener this will probably be boring for you.
Demystifyng the devil video isn't that great!.......2001-10-09
I own this video and it's mostly old band members and ex girlfriends bashing him and the rest of the band. I do not advise true fans to buys this because it's unauthorized and it just doesn't have that much info that isn't already know from his book that he wrote himself. In my opinion, I say don't bother with this video, read his book if you want info about the band.
Not Demystifying Me.......2001-08-13
Marilyn Manson is a human being, just like you and I. Except, what sometimes, no.....Not sometimes. What ALWAYS bothers people is that he sing in an anti-Jesus point of view. I'm not the only Christian that likes him. My friends, my enemies too. We all like his music. I don't agree with him, as a person, but his music is an amazing spectacle of lights, sound, and other things. God Bles the King, Mr. Manson!! Don't buy this video! It's not the right thing. They describe Brian Warner as Marilyn Manson, and Marilyn Manson, ONLY!!
Audio is terrible!!.......2000-12-17
From the girl who has a speech problem, where you can't understand a word she is saying to the bad sync of the video and audio. It's just a bunch of people who still haven't "made it" reflecting on Mansons' success. The home movies are not that great.
