Description

Bette Midler (THE FIRST WIVES CLUB, BEACHES) and Lily Tomlin (DISNEY'S THE KID, ALL OF ME, 9 TO 5) -- the first ladies of laughter -- star in this critically acclaimed box office hit about two sets of identical twins who are mismatched at birth. Forty years later, their paths cross amid the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, and the result is unrestrained pandemonium. New York's opulent Plaza Hotel is the setting for a wildly hilarious, classic case of mistaken identities, split personalities, and double trouble! With the unparalleled comedic talents of Midler and Tomlin, two's company ... four's a riot!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Rose is Me.......2007-09-02

Big Business is probably my favorite movie ever. Not because it's a brilliant piece of cinematic art, but because it makes me laugh and feel good whenever I watch it. My family and I have been quoting this movie for almost two decades now and still crack up when we re watch it. I can't say enough good things about this movie.

4 out of 5 stars super fun chick flick!.......2007-08-11

It is so much fun to watch these two virtuoso comediennes bounce off each other; and the double identities make it doubly fun. I especially love the contrast between Bette Midler's two characters -- the New York company exec has some truly memorable zingers. The men they all end up with are great too, though I see fireworks down the line for some of them!

5 out of 5 stars It could happen to you.......2007-01-27

Loved this, it could really happen, and I am glad it turned out great!!

5 out of 5 stars Warning: Watch this movie at your own risk!.......2006-09-05

Because you might just die laughing.
A perfect motion picture comedy; watch it alone, with a date, with your parents or your children, everyone's going to feel better after seeing this one.

5 out of 5 stars Hysterically funny!.......2006-07-23

While times have changed in terms of special effects, they certainly did an excellent job pulling this one off. Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin are at their finest in this movie. Great lines, excellent acting and a funny plot make this a must watch movie.

Party Monster is a curiosity: a fictional version of events already covered in documentary form (see Party Monster: The Shockumentary) by this film's co-directors, Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, best known for The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Party Monster, theatrically released in 2003, also signals the return of Macaulay Culkin to films after a long absence. Culkin plays 1980s club kid-turned-killer Michael Alig, a small-town boy who arrives in New York in search of reinvention on the Ecstasy-fueled party scene. Alig ascends from rube to ringmaster, organizing Fabulous happenings and anointing, in Warhol-like fashion, various transvestites and studly naifs the era's new superstars. Seth Green plays Alig's arch but more reticent co-conspirator and roommate, James St. James. Green is more grounded in character than Culkin, though neither actor is convincing as a deluded drag queen. Despite interesting material, the directors never reveal what makes Alig a compelling figure in Manhattan's social history. --Tom Keogh

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Loved it!!.......2007-07-23

I thought this was a very well-done movie. Both Macaulay and Seth did an outstanding job!!

5 out of 5 stars Bitter Sweet.......2007-05-15

Okay, I'm going to sound contradicting here, but hear me out... This has to be, by far, the WORST acting I have ever seen in my whole thirty-six years of being, HOWEVER, it contains comedic genius from Marilyn Manson, charm, wit and strange intrigue of Macaulay Culkin, as well as a fantastic soundtrack that is worth putting-up with the bad acting, all in itself. I happen to be a big fan of the "Club Kids", including Michael Alig, James St. James and DJ Keoki, so it helps to know this is based on their whirlwind lives (although I honestly wasn't aware of that until I watched the additional features) (doh!)... Most definitely a cult classic!

3 out of 5 stars Rent it first........2007-04-16

It's worth seeing this movie if you like Seth Green. He's just adorable in it. It's an interesting movie that might be stuck in your head for a while after watching. Mostly you might be saying "Why did I watch that?". If you like watching different movies then go for this one. I wouldn't recommend buying it though.

1 out of 5 stars Grossly unpleasant.......2007-03-02

To see Macaulay Culkin in a tight little shirt and short tight shorts is just revolting. This was just not for me. I've like Seth Green in every other role I've seen him in, but this was too much. Seemed like a well done movie overall, but I couldn't watch more than about 1/3 of it.

4 out of 5 stars Interesting, disturbed and honest.......2006-12-19

These were the type of emotions that I had felt watching this movie. I have never was privilaged to view so much drug use in my life, but I was not a club kid. I was facinated to see the life of a club kid protrayed in such an honest way if this is the life it is. I felt very sorry for the people that were involved with each other and thier tattered, addicted lives. I am giving this movie 4 stars for the honesty and the acting of the actors in a way that it was believable.

Two decades years after Live Aid addressed the issue, lethally oppressive poverty in Africa remains a blight on the planet. Thus, in the Summer of 2005 activist Bob Geldof staged an even more ambitious series of continent-spanning concerts dedicated to raising funds and public consciousness about international debt relief. This expansive four-disc chronicles those shows in one of the most ambitious concert documents ever attempted, capturing all of the highlights (and a few complete artist sets) of concerts in London, Philadelphia, Toronto, Paris, Berlin and Moscow. Underscoring the events' sense of unity, the performances here span both generations and genres, offering veteran rock fans often muscular sets by Elton John (including a woozy take on T. Rex's "Children of the Revolution" with Baby Shambles' Pete Doherty), The Who, Sting (who sharply reprises a trio of Police favorites) and the ubiquitous Paul McCartney. But the highlight of the Jurassic set's contributions are a reunion of Roger Waters and his long-estranged Pink Floyd bandmates on a sonically flawless five-song whirl through highlights of Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall; footage of their rehearsal for the show is contained on the set's equally eclectic fourth disc of bonus materials. But there are highlights here for nearly every taste, be they a fine sampling of contemporary UK and Australian rockers ( Coldplay, Jet, Razorlight and especially blistering performances by Stereophonics and Kaiser Chiefs), a little hip-hop nostalgia (a joyous Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff leading what seems half of his Philly hometown in a goofy singalong of the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme); showy turns by pop-meister Robbie Williams and chateuses Mariah Carey, a rousing set by Black Eyed Peas (featuring Rita and Stephen Marley on a cover of "Get Up Stand Up"). Other one-off duets include Coldplay and Richard Ashcroft doing a fine version of the latter's "Bittersweet Symphony," Stevie Wonder with Rob Thomas ("Higher Ground") and Adam Levine ("Signed Sealed Delivered"), a tender take on "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan and Josh Groban and McCartney and George Michael taking an upbeat turn via "Drive My Car," before Macca closes out the London show by leading its various participants in an obligatory singalong of "Hey Jude." Royalties from sales of the set will go to the Band Aid Trust for the relief of hunger and poverty in Africa. --Jerry McCulley

I bought this dvd and I do not repent myself, a product of excellent quality. Congratulations Amazon.com because she was perfect in the delivery of the product.

5 out of 5 stars Bob Geldof es impresionante!!.......2007-08-24

4 out of 5 stars Live.......2007-06-27

I missed the concert when it actually happened. It's nice to have it always in this package.

5 out of 5 stars Simply Unforgettable.......2007-06-01

I bought this DVD for one reason only.....Pink Floyd Reunion. I wasn't dissapointed. I was however dissapointed in MTV for cutting out most of David Gilmour's guitar solo on Comfortably Numb. The only part of the Floyd performance I didn't like was Roger singing on Wish you Were Here. Dave probably should have sang everything. The highlight of the concert was Gilmour's guitar solo on Comfortably Numb. I haven't seen Dave play with that much emotion for a very long time and it gave me chills. That is why he is one of the greatest guitar players of our time. A must own for any Floyd fan.....

5 out of 5 stars Great video of Pink Floyd.......2007-05-23

I basically bought this video to see the reunion of the Pink Floyd band - all members. Thought the concert was excellent in general, but particularly loved the Pink Floyd portion. If you are a fan, I highly suggest this video.

5 out of 5 stars the big green.......2007-01-19

This was a christmas gift for a relative. As far as I know, he is enjoying it. Thank you and have a prosperous new year!

4 out of 5 stars Good Soccer Movie.......2006-11-10

This movie is very entertaining. My daughter really enjoyed it since she plays soccer and could relate to the kids learning to play and be a team. Lots of slap-stick comedy that anyone would enjoy.

1 out of 5 stars Not a good movie for boys.......2006-04-12

While looking for a movie that would have good role models for boys, I had high hopes for this one, but it's typically Disney. The stupid, petty, and poor players are boys, and the smart, "good", and athletic players are girls.

This is not a good movie if you looking for role models to be examples for young boys

1 out of 5 stars Snore-fest..........2005-09-06

So boring! Totally predictable--your average "feel good" sports movie. A new teacher arrives in a small town and decides to teach the misfit kids that inhabit it soccer. They're horrible when they first try. She then announces to them that their first game is the next day (I believe... i know the game is soon). They're all worried. They lose to the "Knights" (see? predictable NAME too). Somehow they end up in the finals, against the Knights again. They defeat them and receive a huge trophy that looks more like they won a pro sports championship instead of a kid's soccer league competition.
I never really understood the name of the team... "The Big Green?" Isn't the field in the middle of their town The Big Green? And what does that have to do with the team name whatsoever? Okay, maybe I'm missing something, but...

I watched the game while I was sick. Hoping it'd make me feel better. My parents liked it and insisted I didn't enjoy it because I felt crummy, but it we wasn't just me--it was the movie too. Don't invest in it--find something your kids would REALLY like.

1 out of 5 stars Unbelievebly predictable (and bad).......2005-07-07

This is the most boring, vapid, cliched movie in the world. Here's the plot (if you haven't guessed): Soccer team of lovable misfits sucks at the beginning of the movie, losing to their stuck-up but great-at-soccer rivals (even the name is predictable--the "Knights"), but then, through teamwork and dedication etc. slowly get better (esp. the fat kid). They come from behind at the end of the season to beat the Knights with seconds left (I believe the little kid, who is always dirty, scores the last goal). The Knights are humiliated, the Big Green recieves a cup that makes it look like they won the World Series, they learn eminently predictible life lessons, etc. It's the standard feel-good sports-movie plot, and is not helped by maudlin, cliche-filled acting (not to mention music). Don't believe the five star reviewers, because apparantly they enjoy mindless pap. DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE!!!!!

There's a satisfying sense of closure to the definitive noir kick achieved in The Big Heat: its director, Fritz Lang, had forged early links from German expressionism to the emergence of film noir, so it's entirely logical that the expatriate director would help codify the genre with this brutal 1953 film. Visually, his scenes exemplify the bold contrasts, deep shadows, and heightened compositions that define the look of noir, and he matches that success with the darkly pessimistic themes of this revenge melodrama.

The story coheres around the suicide of a crooked cop, and the subsequent struggle of an honest detective, Dave Bannion (Glenn Ford), to navigate between a corrupt city government and a ruthless mobster to uncover the truth. Initially, the violence here seems almost timid by comparison to the more explicit carnage now commonplace in films, yet the story accelerates as its plot arcs toward Bannion's showdown with kingpin Lagana (Alexander Scourby) and his psychotic henchman, the sadistic Vince Stone, given an indelible nastiness by Lee Marvin. When Bannion's wife is killed by a car bomb intended for the detective, both the hero and the story go ballistic: suspended from the force, he embarks on a crusade of revenge that suggests a template for Charles Bronson's Death Wish films, each step pushing Lagana and Stone toward a showdown. Bodies drop, dominoes tumbled by the escalating war between the obsessed Bannion and his increasingly vicious adversaries.

Lang's disciplined visual design and the performances (especially those of Ford, Marvin, Jeanette Nolan as the dead cop's scheming widow, and Gloria Grahame as Marvin's girlfriend) enable the film to transcend formula, as do several memorable action scenes--when an enraged Marvin hurls scalding coffee at the feisty Debby (Grahame), we're both shattered by the violence of his attack, and aware that he's shifted the balance of power. --Sam Sutherland

5 out of 5 stars A classic from the master.......2007-08-23

A great but disturbing film noir from the master, Fritz Lang. Especially for the Vince Stone character (Lee Marvin), who seems to enjoy torturing and killing women--a remarkable character for a fifties movie--reminds me of the Dennis Hopper character in David Lynch's BLUE VELVET 30 years later. Very violent. Fast-moving plot. Great performances from all, especially Glen Ford, Lee Marvin, and Gloria Grahame, perhaps the greatest role of her career. Ford is a homicide detective investigating the murder of a prostitute that no one wants him to investigate, because of corruption in high places. The organized crime syndicate has his wife killed, and him taken off the force, so he is forced to seek revenge on his own, even though he resists the urge to kill. When Stone's girlfriend, Gloria Grahame, talks to Ford, Stone throws a pot of hot coffee on her face. She then befriends Ford, and helps him achieve his revenge. I guess she is the femme fatale character, but she's fatal for the bad guys, not Ford. The corruption is finally cleansed and Ford returned to his position, but his wife is still dead, and the violence lingers hauntingly in our minds. Visually, this is classic film noir, with lots of menacing shadows.

5 out of 5 stars The Big Heat.......2007-06-26

This brutal, in-your-face noir thriller about organized crime and political graft by German ex-pat Lang is about as hardboiled as they come. For starters, the dialogue is sharp and blunt, like a smack in the jaw, and Ford's portrayal of the obsessed Bannion is downright fearsome. "Heat" is particularly memorable for two performances: Lee Marvin, as psychotic henchman Vince Stone, and the peerless Gloria Grahame, as a sultry moll whose face Marvin cruelly disfigures--with a cup of coffee! Crisply paced and unrelentingly fierce, "The Big Heat" is one steamy ride.

5 out of 5 stars It's on DVD? Wow!!.......2007-05-28

I've had this title on VHS for many years. Found the DVD (I love film noirs) on Amazon & it arrived quickly. Is the film an enjoyable classic? You bet! One of my favorites. I could go on & on but get this DVD and see for yourself. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

By the way my commercial VHS looks great but the picture & sound quality of the DVD version is fantastic.....

4 out of 5 stars Good Fun.......2007-03-24

The Big Heat was an enjoyable film with excellent performances from Glenn Ford and a very creepy Lee Marvin. This film is a classis good guy vs. bad guy film, with a steady amount of violence and suspense. Ford's Sgt. Bannion is a tough cop that is not afraid to step on toes to do the right thing. The actresses in this movie are very good, and really bring the movie to the 4 star level.

5 out of 5 stars Noir "De Luxe".......2007-02-23

This film is definitely one of the best Film Noirs I've ever seen. This tale of corruption, greed and revenge is packed with action galore and all kinds of plot twists and surprises, until the very end...and I won't spoil anybody's fun by giving away any of it.

Fritz Lang's deft direction is impeccable; the pacing is fast and keeps your attention all the time, and the cast is full of excellent actors.

Glenn Ford is magnificent as the embittered policeman; charged with hatred and revenge in his veins. Gloria Grahame is excellent, as always, as the apparently air-headed gangster's moll, with a "hidden ace in her sleeve". Jocelyn Brando (Marlon's older sister) is very fine as Ford's down-to-earth and strong-tempered wife. Lee Marvin excels in one of his first tough roles as a psychopathic hit man.

Others in this excellent cast are: Jeanette Nolan (who played Lady Mac Beth opposite Orson Welles in the latter's rendition of Shakespeare's Classic), as a hard-as-nails, ambitious, no-holds barred woman; Carolyn Jones in a small role as a gangster's moll (victimized by Lee Marvin); and Edith Evanson, a very active character actress, plays a crippled secretary, who's a pivotal circumstantial witness of some shady-doings that occur during the film's course.

Also, look for Celia Lovsky, a prolific character actress and Peter Lorre's first wife and who (reputedly) was responsible for his casting in the title role of Fritz Lang's 1931 German masterpiece "M", featured as (mobster) Lagana's mother on a painted portrait he has in his study.

There's a nice vignette during the film; when Glenn Ford's character enters "The Retreat Club" and meets Lee Marvin's character face-to-face, "Put the Blame on Mame" ( Gilda's famous song) is playing on the background.

This one's not to be missed!

Tait College football captain Tommy Marlowe (Peter Lawford) is used to getting any girl he wants. When new coed Pat McClellan (Patricia Marshall) arrives on campus sporting racy fashions and pseudo-French phrases, he decides he wants her. But Pat only has eyes for men with millions, so Tommy enlists sweet Connie Lane (June Allyson), Pat's sorority sister who is working her way through Tait as an assistant librarian, to help him learn French. Tommy falls for down-to-Earth Connie, who falls for him right back, but his ego gets in the way when Pat does a turnabout and decides she does want him after all.

Based on the Broadway play and 1930s musical, Good News is an enthusiastic, good-hearted romp through late-'20s college life. Broadway actress Joan McCracken as Connie's roommate Babe Doolittle exudes energy as she leads nearly all the musical numbers, particularly shining in "Good News" and "Pass the Peace Pipe." A young Mel Tormé sings a lovely reprise of "The Best Things in Life Are Free," and one of the signature songs, "The Varsity Drag," is led by Allyson and Lawford showcasing their dancing and singing talents (Lawford is a better hoofer than vocalist). Though the movie seems mainly constructed around the musical numbers, the writing is sharp and the cast members seems to be enjoying themselves. Director Charles Walters went on to direct Easter Parade and The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and screenwriters Betty Comden and Adolph Green would make their mark with, among others, On the Town and Singin' in the Rain. --Dana Van Nest

5 out of 5 stars Old movies for young children.......2007-03-08

When my granddaughter was practicing her French one day, it reminded me of the movie Good News which I saw when I was a young girl. I thought how refreshing it would be for my grandchildren to see a good old fashioned musical with lots of laughter and fun. I wasn't wrong. The girls enjoyed it (more than the young boys) and everyone watched it to the inevitable end when boy gets girl. No foul language, no killings, no blatant SEX scenes. Just good fun.

1 out of 5 stars The MGM glory-days!.......2007-01-11

Count the number of dancers in those spectacular dance sequences. It is amazing. Every student at Tate College must have danced in them. The "Pass That Peacepipe" and final "Good New" numbers I have on constant re-run, never tire of seeing them.

1 out of 5 stars picture good;quality bad.......2007-01-04

I gave myself a headache trying to watch this d.v.d
It should have been a most enjoyable movie but the quality of the d.v.d was so bad it was unwatchable.
(I must say here that the fault was in the d.v.d not the d.v.d player as I have not had a problem watching d.v.d's before. or since.
I think something should be done to ensure quality of production when running off d.v.d's.

4 out of 5 stars Technicolor Musical in its Prime.......2006-08-29

If you love 40s musicals, you'll love this. Stars June Allyson (recently passed away, R.I.P) in one of the best performances. The part where she and the sorority house mother are misleading Pat (Patricia Marshall) about Tommy's (Peter Lawford) family loosing its money and his father no longer being the "pickle king" is a hoot. Miss Allyson's singing is in more of a Broadway than motion picture musical style. However, it fits her character, Connie, who is an All American Girl type, not a glamour gal. Peter Lawford also puts on a credible show in his singing and dancing. The supporting cast is excellent. Joan McCracken shows off her dancing prowess in the "Pass the Peace Pipe" number. An example of the MGM musical in its prime.

3 out of 5 stars Cast's Sincere Exuberance Saves Cheery College Musical from Pure Cornpone.......2006-07-17

The death of June Allyson this past week is reason enough to revisit one of her most important starring vehicles, this wholesome 1947 MGM college musical from the golly-gee-whiz school of entertainment. Based on a pre-Depression-era stage hit, it's all pretty ridiculous but very sincere with random moments of clever comedy thanks to the formidable team of Betty Comden and Adolph Green with their first screenplay effort. The thin plot involves exuberant co-eds at Tait College and two in particular, conscientious good girl Connie Lane and football hero Tommy Marlowe. The closest thing the film comes to drama is the risk Tommy faces in not being able to play in the big game if he cannot pass his French class, and you can guess who is the only who can tutor him. There is inevitably a snooty gold-digger out to steal Tommy from Connie under the assumption that he is an heir to a pickle fortune. And naturally, there are hijinks galore among the co-eds who have a more vested interest in the big game than their own studies.

The trivial nature of the film is offset primarily by two things. First, there is Allyson, who exudes cornbelt, girl-next-door appeal effortlessly. With her froggy voice and twinkly smile, she shines as Connie despite the fact that she is not inordinately talented as either singer or dancer. As Tommy, Lawford is actually a better dancer than you would expect, but his character is such a flighty dullard that he comes across as rather silly. The second notable factor is a wonderful bouncing ball of a dancer named Joan McCracken, a Broadway performer who plays Connie's comic sidekick Babe Doolittle. Shamefully an obscure footnote now, she is the dynamic center of the energetic if somewhat politically incorrect "Pass the Peace Pipe" production number, a dazzling example of finely coordinated MGM choreography at its best. Another example of that craftsmanship is the final "Varsity Drag" number where dozens of dancers impressively replicate the moves of Allyson and Lawford in synchronized lockstep. This will definitely not suit everyone's taste, even lovers of MGM musicals, but it is a worthy tribute to Allyson's appeal and the kind of musical that would never be made again without some hint of cynicism.

When a pal of detective John Shaft is murdered in a bombing (and $250,000 in cash turns up missing), New York's coolest private eye finds himself caught in the middle of a power struggle between black and white gangsters over the numbers racket in Queens. Directed by Gordon Parks (who does a brief cameo as a croupier in an illegal casino) and written by Ernest Tidyman (both of whom did the original Shaft), this film lacks the pacing of its progenitor. Roundtree is at his best when he's questioning a woman he's just met about a suspect while at the same time beguiling her into the sack (ah, those lazy, crazy days of the sexual revolution). The finale--a shootout in a cemetery, followed by a car-boat-helicopter chase through Queens and up the Harlem River--is preposterously drawn-out: Shaft, impervious to machine-gun fire, winds up tripping, spraining his ankle, and limping while running from the chopper; two shots later, he's sprinting like a halfback. Look for late Muhammad Ali trainer Drew Bundini Brown as a wise-cracking mobster. --Marshall Fine

Shaft's Big Score is a decent sequel, but the pacing is a bit slow at times. You can't beat The Theme From Shaft, but Big Score has got some tight music in it, keepin' it funky for the Private Dick whose a brotha man. Bumpy and Willie, my two favorite characters are back, and Bumpy is still tolerating Shaft while Bumpy maintains his hilarious disrepecting of him. About midway through is one of coolest scenes ever-Shaft is getting worked over backstage at a nightclub by Mob goons while the shots cut back and forth between busted jaws and writhing exotic dancers. The whole scene is scored with a heavily funky tune about the fuzz comin' 'round and what you gonna do when the mace comes down. Obviously, then you gotta just disrespect the Man and check this movie out.

Of all of the movies that I own, I keep coming back to the Shaft movies. I wish that they could have made more of them. Don't listen to others, this one is just as good as the first one!

This is the typical story of the black man against the Italian-American(black blood is on them also..) for control of the ghetto. This one is good because it takes a look into black people with money in the early 70's. This film has action, sex, story, chases and a mob boss who doe snot mind you talking sh*t to him, but touch his food or matrial items and he is pissed!

If you like black exploitation films or if you are white and you like raw action films, get this. Shaft is Africa was a little different(could be why they never made another), but still ok. Shaft's Big Score should be your score.

2 out of 5 stars I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY ABOUT THIS ONE.......2003-09-08

AFTER SEEING HOW ENTERTAINING THE ORIGINAL ''SHAFT'' WAS, I WAS DISSAPOINTED BY THIS SEQUEL. THIS TIME, SHAFT INVESTIGATES THE MURDER OF AN OLD FRIEND. SOMETHING THAT MADE THE FIRST FILM SO ENJOYABLE IS SIMPLY JUST MISSING FROM THIS ONE. THIS FILM IS MEDIOCRE AT TIMES, BUT THANKS TO RICHARD ROUNDTREE'S LIKABLE PERFORMANCE, AND THANKS TO THE EXPLOSIVE FINAL HALF HOUR, THIS FILM IS WATCHABLE. ONCE AGAIN, THE THEME SONG IS A HIGHLIGHT. FOLLOWED BY SHAFT IN AFRICA.

    4 out of 5 stars Nu Yawk's Koolest.......2002-04-19

Back in prehistoric times, John Shaft was the role model if you was a nice guy, Priest from Superfly was the man if you was dreaming of livin' the life. Shaft's Big Score the followup to the Cool Black crimefighter series, is a slickened up version of the much more grittier original. Still, the bad ... gets off. The climatic chase has been "rescene" in dozens of later films from Hollywood and around the world and Mr. Parks still doesn't get the proper props for bringing to the screen a cultural icon that despite time and Singleton's "nephew" is still the Man. The late Reverend O.C. Smith is too countrified for singing a Big City theme but the powers the be didn't want to pay Isaac"Black Moses-Voice of ... Reason Chef from South Park" Hayes asking price. But there is a tease of what it might of been in the club scene where somebodys' girlfriend swirls to the early '70s funk. Never mind the usher pass the joint and hand me the gin Shaft Big Score is smokin' Jim.
