Cuba Gooding Jr. still has the exuberant energy that won him an Academy Award for Jerry Maguire--though his subsequent career choices have not been so golden. Still, he's a charming fellow, and his charisma makes Boat Trip surprisingly inoffensive, despite its plot: After being dumped by his girlfriend, Jerry (Gooding) sinks into a depressive funk until his buddy Nick (Horatio Sanz) drags him to a singles cruise--not realizing they've been sent on a gay singles cruise by a vengeful travel agent. But Jerry meets Gabrielle (Roselyn Sanchez), a sexy dance instructor, and falls head over heels--but to maintain her trust, he has to pretend to be just another gay guy out for a little sea air. Though thick with gay stereotypes, Boat Trip actually has a modest gay-men-are-people-too theme that makes the movie innocuous fluff. Also featuring Vivica A. Fox, Roger Moore, Will Farrell, and Playboy playmate Victoria Silvstedt. --Bret Fetzer

I dont accept watching this movie 2nd time because what bothers me is about 2 straight men was picking on gay people and made fun of and lied to the ladies they met off gay cruise!!! HELLO?!? I am a gay male and if someone like Cuba and his so-called buddy start something to me I would stood up for myself and fight back and if I was a female I dont need a lying dumba** f**k like Cuba that was been playing games. This movie deserves 1 star I swear to god this movie is T-R-A-S-H!!! Any gay men out there if you havent seen this movie dont buy it you guys dont deserves to watch this kind of nasty movie!!! This movie is all about making fun of, picking on, liars and haters. If I ever meet Cuba and his so-called buddy I would tell these 2 idiots to respect us gay men and that we only have 1 world not 2 doesnt matter if he respect us or not but this movie proves it!! If Cuba respect gay people he shouldnt be playing in this movie in the first place!!! DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

What can I say about 'Boat Trip'? Nothing good that's for sure. The one thing that came to mind watching this was, "I can't believe Cuba Gooding Jr. agreed to star in this." 'Boat Trip' released in '06 is a highly offensive film masquerading as a comedy/romance about two straight men who mistakingly find themselves on a gay cruise. It's crude, obscene and in some instances downright pornographic.
Shame on you Cuba, Roselyn, Roger and Vivica. You're all well off enough to be able to pass on this kind of trash.
Baseball Bats Will Never Be The Same.......2005-11-07
One of the things that "Boat Trip" isn't is high level humour of a stimulating kind. However, if some light and crude humour buzzes you, then "Boat Trip" may be just the thing you are looking for.
Two guys both have differing love issues, (one gets dumped for a car detailer and the other just hasn't gotten past 1st base except with a 51-year-old with a fake leg). As a solution, they book a cruise, but the vindictive travel agent books them both on a gay cruise in revenge for their argument with his boyfriend.
The marriage between romance "feel good" and crude sexual innuendo just doesn't work as well in "Boat Trip" as it has with other movies. The plot certainly has a lot of potential, but that seemed rather unrealised in many ways.
Being of simple humour, I enjoyed a lot of the antics of Cuba Gooding Jr and Horatio Sanz as they both solved their problems in their own unique ways. The movie particularly showed Gooding's versatilty in his ability to play a fairly light role, as well as the more serious ones in other movies.
"Boat Trip" is certainly not up there with other trip oriented movies, but is good for a chuckle. That is, if sexual humour is what you like. If not, pass on this one.
I wouldn't pretend that I'm gay just to win some woman like she's important.......2005-09-10
These two guys got on the wrong cruse ship by mistake. They thought they were going on a cruse ship filled with lesbian's but it's the opposite it's filled with gays. This black man fell in love with this latin woman who is on the gay ship but she's more attracted to gay guys so he pretends that he's gay just to win her over. Of course I wouldn't go through that cause women are not everything.

Product Description
Third Eye Productions releases in a double dvd-set the 2 classic surf films of the 90's, THE HOLE and NO DESTINATION, by Don King and Jeff Hornbaker.
Once upon a time, nobody knew the Mentawais' name. Well, almost nobody. This was the mid-1990s, and only a handful of surfers had penetrated this mysterious island chain off western Sumatra - a wave wonderland, where more good surf exists than anywhere else on the planet.
Together with Martin Daly of the Indies Trader, legendary surf lensmen Jeff Hornbaker and Don King led the first great team expeditions into the magic Mentawais surf. Here for the first time you can see two classic voyages in one crazy DVD package.
THE HOLE (1996), starring Tom Carroll, Martin Potter, Ross Clarke-Jones, Chris Malloy and Joel Jones. Join these fearsome characters as they travel far into the deeps of the chain, discovering one of the world's best lefts, and giving each other some of the world's worst haircuts in the process! Watch as Malloy tries to hide in the engine room from TC, Pottz and RCJ on a rampage! See innocent fun go truly foul in the wheelhouse! Avert your eyes as Carroll gives Clarke-Jones an emergency IV drip! Most of all, be mesmerized as the all star cast thread the needle through the crystal depths of The Hole.
Duration: 53 minutes
NO DESTINATION (1997), starring Kelly Slater, Taylor Knox, Pat O'Connell, Ross Williams, and Chris Malloy. Slater, caught halfway through his epic six-world-title run and in the form of his life, carries out a shocking demolition of the Mentawais' best known breaks, but is matched wave for wave by Knox's brute force at Macaronis. Meanwhile, pushed by Kelly's terrifying reverse 270-degree backside whips and switchfoot barrel riding, the others build on their own dazzling repertoires. One of the finest straight action surf movies ever made is enhanced by onboard interviews which take you behind the New School veil. Duration: 51 minutes
Customer Reviews:
The greatest surf film ever made.......2006-01-28
No Destination is possibly my favorite surf film of all time. This was part of the reason I fell in love with surfing, (besides surfing itself). Features the surfing of Pat O Connell, Chris Malloy, Ross Williams, Kelly Slater, Nick Carroll, and Taylor Knox. The guys were shot by Don King and Jeff Hornbaker on The Indies Trader boat. This video won Surfer Magazine's Video of the Year in 1997. The Soundtrack is amazing, although I don't think they made one. This isn't a punk rock, high performance oriented surf movie. This is truly a classic surf film, capturing vintage New School surfers in paradise. The whole film just has an amazing, refreshingly, atmospheric quality to it, and it flows all the way through. The soundtrack features jazz, classical, and just great music that complements the surfing. At the end of the film, you really feel as if you've been on the boat, talking, fishing, surfing, and fooling around with them the whole time. It is essentially a short story about the whole trip.
The movie itself is over an hour long. Kelly Slater's surfing in this movie is absolutely incredible. He switches stance going backside in the barrell, and essentially becomes the star of the show. On one left, he goes backside- let me stop. Anyways, the surfing of Pat, Taylor, Ross, and Chris is awesome as well. All those guys surf well. The film was shot in 1997 in The Metawais Islands, before it became discovered and exposed. You experience the reefs, cliffs, and a village they go into. Kelly Slater had just won his fifth world title, and would go on to win another the next year. The film features almost all lefts, and some large hollow rights in black and white. I've seen this movie at least 100 times and I could watch it forever. I could really say this film has changed my life. Highly recommended.
I've seen In The Hole once, and it was awesome as well. But you'll have to decide.
