Robert Downey Jr. has never been more charming than in this comedy about a yuppie who is revisited in adulthood by the spirits of four people who had been his friends as a child. The ghosts (Kyra Sedgwick, Charles Grodin, Alfre Woodard, Tom Sizemore) all have unfinished business in this world before they can move on to the next, and Downey's character agrees to let them inhabit his body while they sort it all out. The appealing cast alone strongly recommends this movie, but Downey's remarkable facility for physical comedy--manifesting the personalities of his supernatural pals as they possess him--is a riot. Elisabeth Shue makes the best of her part as the hero's girlfriend; Leaving Las Vegas was still ahead of her, but one can see her talent straining to get out here. A perfect romantic movie which had tears welling up in my eyes, A classic tear jerker, cry when you should be laughing, pulled my heart strings and played my tune. Execllent film.

This movie is a must for any Downey fan. It has a little of everything comedy, drama, and romance. The story is basically about 4 individuals all killed while on the same bus. Their souls are connected to the nearest baby being born(downey's character). The little boy grows up having "imaginary friends". Of course, once he's in school this poses a problem for him. He's seen talking to himself, etc. His school begins to think he's in need of therapy. The souls do the selfless thing and disappear(though they are still with him). The man he becomes is a bit of a jerk. Eventually the souls reveal themselves when they find out that he is their corporeal being to be used to tie up their loose ends here on earth. Along the way Downey's character learns a few lessons and becomes a better person for it.

This is an oldie but goodie. Robert Downey Jr is great! He plays a man who assist 4 dead people to find peace and move on. I was surprised when my husband sat down and watched it with me. I even caught him laughing more than once. (It was odd because he NEVER watches chic flicks!) I would recommend this movie to anyone.

Expected alot more from this documentary........2007-07-17
I feel the film is rather too short and does not go in depth enough on the subject. Many of the performances were great, especially those by the profesional dancers from Spain and Ms Amaya's dancing is truly full of passion (she has alot of her great aunt's spirit). Perhaps a more skilled film maker could have done a better job. The film bogs down a bit in some segments and they also should have included more footage about Carmen Amaya. As I said, it is too short.

The video can be a little slow, but it gives insight and perspectives about the history and culture of the Gypsy. My students particularly loved the dancing by Carmen Amaya!

A great little documentary of the trails and tribulations of being a Flamenco Artist in Boston Ma. Great footage of Her Great aunt including a clip of Carmen Amaya and a younger Sabicas playing for wounded troops during WWII. I must say Omayra has a lot of Duende (flamenco Sprit) and is a fist rate Flamenco dancer in her own right!!

This is such a lovely documentary it should have received much more attention. It was somehow, incorrectly, reviewed as a backlash to Michael Moore's movie because it came out at a similar time. This is not a political movie and it has nothing to do with the events of 9-11. In fact, all of the movie was shot before 9-11 occurred. It was not released earlier because of the extensive editing and because a distributor had not yet picked it up. I would recommend this delightful look at passions and businesses of everyday people across America.

From the Vermont farmer and his son to the soul singer/musicians in New Orleans and the oil fire fighters in Texas, we get a wonderful glimpse of the folks who prove day after day that America is still the land of the free and the home of the brave and that those who have dreams can see them come true, no matter the odds. I happened to meet Dan Klennert in Elbe Washington, who is featured on this book and video. I was inspired and awed by his works. Disney has done an unbelievable job of finding unique, interesting and inspirational people throughout the United States. This book and video will just make you feel good.

Arnold Palmer is one of golf's greatest stories and his life and legend is brought to life in this 2-hour presentation. If you enjoy golf and the people that made it great, this is a must for you. I rated this video four stars instead of five because, while I have nothing personal against Linda Francis, in my view her approach to spiritual development (meditative and partner-based exercises) is tired, ineffective in the long term, and detracts from Zukav's message. There is a deafening chord of truth that resounds from Zukav that simply does not eminate from Francis.
The bottom line is, a basic intellectual and emotional understanding of Zukav's philosophy renders these kinds of meditative exercises unnecessary. I would have much preferred seeing Zukav going in depth, one-on-one with the participants of this program.

This is a fabulous presentation by Gary & Linda. The instructions are clear and make complete sense. As a psychotherapist, I value their pointers both for myself and for the people I work with. The presentation feels real authentic and practical. Highly recommended if you want to take care of your emotional health.

A truly excellent moment in anime history. Generator Gawl is most possible one of the best dubbed animes I have ever seen, not to mention that the voice actors cast for each role are absolutely perfect. This DVD is packed with action, humor, and even some romance and drama; it's got everything you could ever want! The only thing I could complain about would be the lack of extra features, although the schematics of each generator shown in this particular DVD is pretty cool, since they're worth taking a second look at. All and all, this anime has become my favorite, and if you buy this DVD, you'll see why - it's addicting!

Alright, an online friend suggested this to me, and let me tell you, I fell in love with it the second I started watching it. Then again, me being a total push over, so.... yeah.
The reason I compare it to Gundam Wing is because of the action elements... it has mecha, but the mecha are restricted to human-skinned Generators (the anime will explain)... and it has three Bishies (anime okatus know what I mean) in it that are fighting to save the universe from its destruction in the future...
Yes... want to know more? Alright then. Koji, Ryo, and Gawl traveled back from time to 2007 to stop the discovery of a creation that will instigate WW III and thus pretty much destroy the world. Koji and Ryo are young scientists, and Gawl is their creation, so to speak. They need a place to live, and they find an apartment with Masami and her mother... the conflict is that Masami and Gawl don't seem to like eachother... they have their interludes which are quite funny. I dont really want to give anymore away, because it is such a great anime and you need to be surprised!
The animation is pretty good--not breath-taking, but very admirable. I certainly enjoyed it. The English voice actors are very good... so its not painful to watch in dubbed as in many other anime... the soundtrack is really good and you can't help but like the theme song... its addicting!
All in all, this anime will keep you guessing to the very end. I highly suggest it to any hard-core anime fan!

I hardly knew anything about Genertor Gawl when I bough it. I remembered seeing a trailor for it on another ADV DVD but I bought it anyways. Surprisingly, this anime was good, Really GOOD. With a nice mix of likes such as comedy and action, it was great. Though the story at first as rough to understand in the beginning, the rest of the elements of this seires, such as the comedy and action, made me forget about that and made me want to see more. The animation is great, and thing music was pretty good too. I suggest this as an anime that any collector or anime fan should have, or at leat see. I think the only downfall is that it only has 3 episodes, but it's still worth it!

Genorator Gawl is a story of 3 teenagers who jump back in time to Sept. 2007 and try and save the world from "dark generators"(those are the bad guys), only problem is they were supposed to jump a year earlier. The 3 characters are: Gawl (he's the main character and has the power of generating), Koji(he's kinda the leader of the of the operation), and Ryo(he's kinda the smart guy and his name's pronounced Ro). Also there's a girl called Masami and another called Natsumi(they're friends of Gawl, Koji, and Ro). I think that generator gawl is an awsome anime saga and that it is hilarious! There's this 1 part in the 2nd episode were Gawl is trying to catch a butterfly in his hands and he keeps missing it and gets really frustrated, it's hilarious! Also there's this strange scientist called "Tekuma Nekasa" who I think cracks the gene code for generating. All anime lovers I urge you to watch it. It has fantastic graphics and battle scenes in all 3 of the 1st 3 episodes (not volumes I've only seen vol. 1). On a scale of 1 to 10, i'd give a 1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!! ADV Films really picked a good saga to translate and sell. Props to the opening theme!
Generator Gawl is quite appealing!!!.......2001-07-13
I attually found out about Generator Gawl ,cause of a trailer from an Adv Anime dvd that I bought. When I first heard of the highly addictive, hard edge rock theme song, I want out ,and saw the fast pace action sequence of the trailer. It won me over instantly. I needed to get it fast! When I finally got the first volume, I've notice it was different from what I anticipated to see. I thought it was mostly action, generator versus generator.But,it's mostly comedy,drama,romance,suspense, ,and almost at the end of each episode comes the action sequence.This series has it all!!! This anime is a must get!

By accident I saw a clip of "Wasn't Man Enough" on a commercial. Ever since then I bought this DVD and learned the dance! It's funny 'cause whenever I did it 4 my two close friends, they kept wanting me to do it over & over. It's like on that show "Becoming!" Anyway, it's a gr8 must have because of the two music videos, the commercial, and interview! Keep Rockin', Toni!

For me Un-Break My Heart is the best song of the 20th Century. And with this DVD Single you get a chance to own the music video with an impressive video and sound quality and watch it whenever you want even years later. It's a classic... Also you can think He Wasn't Man Enough as a bonus video with dance rythms.. It is worth getting it. For a music fan it is a must to have in collection...

The inclusion of the interview really makes a difference! Only wish that they included the dance versions of the videos. Otherwise, it's worth getting!

I just bought this dvd the other day and it was much more than I expected. It has the music videos for "He Wasnt Man Enough" and "Un-Break My Heart" as well as the TV Commercial for her album; "The Heat." It also contains an interview with Toni about the new album where she talks about some of the songs on it. I wasnt expecting much from this cause its just a dvd single but it had another music video, a tv commercial, and an interview. Pretty stellar if you ask me.
