Like a soda pop left open all night, Bueller seems to have lost its effervescence over time. Sure, Matthew Broderick is still appealing as the perennial truant, Ferris, who fakes his parents out and takes one memorable day off from school. Jeffrey Jones is nasty and scheming as the principal who's out to catch him. Jennifer Grey is winning as Ferris's sister (who ends up making out in the police station with a prophetic vision of Charlie Sheen). But there's a definite sense that this film was of a particular time frame: the '80s. It's still fun, though. There's Ferris singing "Twist and Shout" during a Chicago parade, and a lovely sequence in the Art Institute. But don't get it and expect your kids to love it the way you did. Now who doesn't love this movie? being able to sjip school and enjoy the day of visiting the city and having fun? What kid wouldn't like that? A major classic movie of the 80's starring Matthew Broderick. No need to explain his exploits, just watch and laugh with him and his pal Cameron. Another one to stick in your DVD collection.

The movie of corse is the same. The most excellent coming of age comedy ever made. I had to watch it again and then I checked out the extras. The interviews with the now older actors is a wonderful reflection of all of their career's and former youth. It is totally worth getting. My last copy of the DVD went to my 15 year old niece. All that I had left was the original VHS from 1989. I loved it and I hope you enjoy it.

That is what this film is all about. True the film is dated and has some major plot holes which have been covered by other reviews, but on the whole, a wonderful trip down memory lane for those old enough to remember. No one is immune to the pranks and antics of this film. I tried similar things on my teachers in high school and thought I was original until this film appeared. Give it a shot... you should be laughing within minutes of the action.

Description
PRETTY IN PINK - Young Andie (Molly Ringwald) is one of the not-so-popular girls in high school. She usually hangs out with her friends Iona (Annie Potts) or Duckie (Jon Cryer). Duckie has always had a crush on her, but now she has met a new guy from school, Blane (Andrew McCarthy). He's one of the rich and popular guys but can the two worlds meet? FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF - Ferris (Matthew Broderick) is a street-wise kid who knows all the tricks. Today he decides to take the day off school. When Ferris takes the day off, so must his best friends, Cameron (Alan Ruck) and Sloane (Mia Sara). Cameron is reluctantly persuaded to borrow his father's Ferrari, and together they hatch a plan to get Sloane out of class. Suspicious dean of students Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) knows all about Ferris, but can never catch him. Ferris' sister Jeanie (Jennifer Grey) is also frustrated that Ferris always gets away with his tricks and she doesn't. Furthermore, Ferris is an 'angel' in his parent's eyes. It's Ferris' day off, he's out to enjoy himself, and he does! SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL - A young tomboy, Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson), finds her feelings for her best friend, Keith (Eric Stoltz), run deeper than just friendship when he gets a date with the most popular girl in school, Amanda (Lea Thompson). Unfortunately, the girl's old boyfriend, Hardy (Craig Sheffer) who is from the rich section of town, is unable to let go of her, and plans to get back at Keith.

First of all this set is a steal when one dvd costs $20.00 it does not take a genius to know your getting three movies for the price of one.
I love all the movies in this set how could any John Hughes fan not love them.
What memories these movies bring back and I love "getting the cast together" on the Ferris Buller dvd. It was great to see the cast after all this time only Mia Sara and Charlie Sheen were not in the recent interviews.

If you were a child or teenager of the 80s like me, this is the collection for you! I loved it! It was like going down memory lane! I highly recomend movie boxed sets like these for a rainy day or for a movie watching party or slumber party etc. So curl up on the couch with some popcorn and get ready to laugh and remonis!

The movie of corse is the same. The most excellent coming of age comedy ever made. I had to watch it again and then I checked out the extras. The interviews with the now older actors is a wonderful reflection of all of their career's and former youth. It is totally worth getting. My last copy of the DVD went to my 15 year old niece. All that I had left was the original VHS from 1989. I loved it and I hope you enjoy it.

No one is immune to the pranks and antics of this film. I tried similar things on my teachers in high school and thought I was original until this film appeared. Give it a shot... you should be laughing within minutes of the action.

Sure, Matthew Broderick is still appealing as the perennial truant, Ferris, who fakes his parents out and takes one memorable day off from school. Jeffrey Jones is nasty and scheming as the principal who's out to catch him. Jennifer Grey is winning as Ferris's sister (who ends up making out in the police station with a prophetic vision of Charlie Sheen). But there's a definite sense that this film was of a particular time frame: the '80s. It's still fun, though. There's Ferris singing "Twist and Shout" during a Chicago parade, and a lovely sequence in the Art Institute. But don't get it and expect your kids to love it the way you did.
