I Am In Awe.......2007-09-11
This is the greatest thing to ever happen to me. It's highly contagious as well, so be prepared to sing your every action for the rest of the week.
trapped.......2007-09-08
it was good i cant wait for the others to come out well done R. Kelly
I hope it gets better, next time........2007-09-07
It was good, but this 12 to 22 chapters lost the music part of it. Before you would but able to play it on your cd player and really enjoy it. Now it looks like he made this just for dvd. It's not the same as the 1st 1 to 12 chapters and not better either. I'm only looking forward to seeing the next chapters in order to see if he went back to the old way.
R. Kelly Proves He's At The Top Of His Game.......2007-09-07
Forget what you heard or may want to believe about R. Kelly, as a musical artist, the man is at the top of his game. With this dvd, R. Kelly proves he knows how to tell a good story just as good as he can add a hook to a song and make it a hit. The question is with all the baby making music that he writes, where R. can push the envelope, who knew he had a sense of humor. I think the LL Fool J was the top of his list on this one for comments. My only question is how long do we have to wait to find out about the package? If you haven't ordered this dvd, go ahead and do it. It's worth it.
5 Stars.......2007-09-03
I was very satisfied. It was brand new and it arrived when it was suppose
to.

Customer Reviews:
Energy plus!!.......2007-09-06
I've always enjoyed Springsteen's music, especially live (he gives great concert), however...I had not heard of this DVD when I bought it. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised. A lot of traditional folk songs and some newer pieces done with more energy and original idea than I thought possible. The sessions band is as tight and talented a group as you're likely to hear.
You'll be smiling and dancing in front of your screen and the better your sound system, the better the result. Very well produced and outstanding audio quality. Don't miss this one!
Musical Genius.......2007-09-03
I've never enjoyed a conert DVD so much. Springsteen explores several genres with passion and style. Most especially, he drags long-dead-and-forgotten folk music into the 21st century. The Sessions band is absolutely the best gathering of wonderful musicians ever for a concert. And the whole experience is heightened by their obvious respect for each other, their music and the audience. The Springsteen/audience interactions are part of the fun of this DVD.
American music at its best.......2007-08-20
this is an intense fun concert interpreting great american roots music with plenty of enthusiasm, even though patti scialfi tries to hog too much air time, it does nothing to spoil the show. Greg Liszt was impressive with the banjo. Erie Canal is my favorite song.
Going Off.......2007-08-15
Having missed seeing Bruce in Verona last year because of an early flight out of Venice the next day and a lousy Italian train service - this DVD was a highlight.
The love of life and music was clearly evident in this wonderful gig in Dublin and the foot stomping soul of the band was evident in every track. If you don't buy another DVD all year, splash out, enjoy and play it loud. Bruce living life to the full!
Bruce, The Bandleader.......2007-08-13
I've been a longtime fan of Mr. Springsteen's music - I first saw him at a college gym in South Philly in Feb of 74. I had just gotten my driver's license and loved his first two albums, so me and my friends went to the show. I came away a lifelong convert. Little did I know I'd still be touting my devotion and exuberance to his music 33 years later... unimaginable.
I bought the studio version, The Seeger Sessions, so I felt this would be redundant, but it's anything but. This concert and collection epitomizes an incredibly talented committed artist, who's unafraid to take chances. It's the culmination of a year of touring and evolving with this smokin' band and this sizzling big sound. Some might say what's risky about singing old folk tunes, but just think about what a flop it could have been! Instead, we have an eyewitness view of an artist who can reinvent and passionately perform songs that have long been forgotten, in an incredibly exciting way. Watching Bruce lead this collection of musicians with arrangements from the heart is truly a joy to behold. It's obvious he's having a helluva lot of fun, and we get to go along for the ride! He mixes a number of his own songs in, also rewritten and presented in a new way, only reinforcing that Bruce is of the same cloth as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and other legends of American music. He continues to outdo himself with each album and this is no exception. I'm so glad I got my copy.
Thanks Bruce! You're the best!

um, are people missing the point?.......2007-08-21
this is SUPPOSED to be funny! i am by no means an R. Kelly fan (not musically or for his behavior) but i can't help but love this series. some chapters aren't as funny as others but it's basically an overdramatized, funny and yes, smart, soap opera. if you are looking for a serious piece of drama, well, this ain't it. if you watch this knowing it's a comedy and enjoy that kind of thing, you'll love it. check it out on IFC for free!
Plain Genius.......2007-08-19
This is smart of R. Kelly to build off of something that works. That's why he's been successful in the business for so long. This is ridiculously entertaining and makes you laugh at a lot of stuff that people take too seriously. For those who don't like it, don't watch. But if you like over the top style comedy, you won't be disappointed.
predictable sex filled drama.......2007-07-17
The first chapter is tolerable but the rest of this to be honest: is a mess. Its predictable and stupid. On this dvd theres even a commentary done by R-Kelly him self where hes basicly just repeating what he already sang in the song(if you can call it that). Everybody's just having sex with everybody so after a while the story becomes uneventful and predictable.
PURE GENIUS.......2007-05-17
R Kelly stumbled upon pure genius when recording this. This is a never-ending suspenseful thriller from start to finish. Read these quotes as if R Kelly was singing and you will understand. "What's that smell.....I think someone just broke wind" "Oh my god it was a midget..midget..midget". Best short film ever made!
A guilty pleasure.......2007-04-11
Once you watch these, you will be hooked. Whether it's to bash it, laugh along with it or at it, or to even..*gasp* love it, it really has something for everyone.
R. Kelly has brilliantly come up with a story that is just so non-sensical and ridiculous that you can't help but to be caught up in it. What starts as a simple one night cheating session turns into one of the most complicated and twisted stories ever. It seems that the main character played by R. Kelly isn't the only one sleeping around. As each song comes to a close we find out there is yet another twist to look forward to in the next chapter of the song. And more and more people get involved into the never ending tale.
I'll admit it, flat out. I'm not a fan of R&B music or R. Kelly. But something drew me to this "urban opera" as Kelly proudly calls this that now makes me a fan of R. Kelly. This is something that I think someone from any background or origin can get into. It is almost like watching the WWE or a soap opera in the morning just with a musical theme to it. And the music is actually fun. While the song comes off more like speaking to a tune with a rhyme to it, it has a great beat and sound to it that keeps everything flowing well together in each chapter. And you can't take it seriously. Of course the events that go on in each chapter are silly and far fetched. He touches on a little bit of everything. Cheating, gay couples, dwarfs, convicts, nosey neighbors, his great impression of a white southern house wife and even the crooked cop shows up. You name it and it shows up in these videos. There are some part that are laugh out loud funny while other parts that just make you wonder where he came up with some of this as it is so forced and strange to suddenly be showing up. But they don't try to be a serious take on urban life, it is more of a mocumentary of just weird occurances. Anyone taking this too seriously shouldn't be watching this as that is not at all what this is trying to portray. If anything it seems like its just having fun through music and corny situations and it's a very unique and fun experience for the most part.
If it weren't for the silliness and just drawn out situations that this gets into as we get deeper into the story this would easily be a five star recomendation. But that's not to say that this is not worth checking out and owning. I think anyone who likes some good music, some fun situations and something you will definitely watch more then once, you can't go wrong here. There is a reason why this has been spoofed and referenced in so many places. Its just that original and fresh and unique an idea that R. Kelly came up with here, that it is hard not to get addicted to these videos and the music as well. I won't say this deserves an award or anything for great music and acting but I will say I was very pleasently surprised when I saw it for myself. R. Kelly in his own way has come up with something here and I say don't judge it till you see it. Whether you cringe, laugh or get into the music, you will find something to enjoy with his Urban Opera. I know I sure did.

Tony Kushner's prize-winning play Angels in America became the defining theatrical event of the 1990s, an astonishing mix of philosophy, politics, and vibrant gay soap opera that summed up the Reagan era for an entire generation of theater-goers. Post-9/11 would seem to be too late for a film version--philosophy and politics don't always age well--but this 2003 HBO adaptation, ably directed by Mike Nichols (The Graduate), provides a time capsule of the '80s and reveals the deep emotional subcurrents that will give the play lasting power.
The story centers around Prior Walter (Justin Kirk) and Louis Ironson (Ben Shenkman), a gay couple that falls apart when Prior grows ill as a result of AIDS. But cancer is not the only thing invading Prior's life: He begins to have religious visions of an angel (Emma Thompson, Sense and Sensibility) announcing that he is a prophet. Louis, who doesn't cope well with disease and suggestions of mortality, leaves and starts a relationship with Joe Pitt (Patrick Wilson), a closeted Mormon who works for Roy Cohn (Al Pacino, Dog Day Afternoon)--the real-life right-wing lawyer, notorious for his ruthless behind-the-scenes machinations. Add in Joe's depressed and hallucinating wife Harper (Mary Louise Parker, Fried Green Tomatoes), his determined but open-minded mother Hannah (Meryl Streep, Adaptation), a fierce drag queen/nurse named Belize (Jeffrey Wright, Basquiat, reprising his celebrated performance from the Broadway production), and you've still only begun to discover the wealth of characters and storylines in Kushner's ambitious work.
The powerhouse cast (also featuring James Cromwell, Michael Gambon, and Simon Callow) is uniformly superb. The script has its weaknesses--some of the fantastic elements, including Prior's journey to Heaven towards the end, fall flat--but even what doesn't work is bristling with ideas and a ferocious desire to capture human existence in this time and place. --Bret Fetzer

Customer Reviews:
Soulful ..........2007-09-02
Mike Nichol's adapts Tony Kurschner's award-winning play for this 6 hour HBO series ( presented here on 2 discs ). Like a lot of plays adapted to film, sometimes the parlance of the speeches seem a bit stilted or "play-like", but somehow that doesn't detract much from the film, as it is a film about communication both said & unsaid. My major complaint about the film is that Pacino, Streep and Thompson get top billing in the film - when in fact that they're all essentially secondary characters - which is not to say that each wasn't brilliant in their roles ( and sometimes multiple roles - particularily Streep who surely outdoes herself in the film & certainly deserved an Emmy for her multi-performance ). Justin Kirk plays the lead Prior Walters - with a mix of love, pathos, fear and joy, yet doesn't even get listed in the box credits - for shame I say. Jeffrey Wright - also outstanding - deservedly won awards for his part in the film. Anyone looking for a film with great writing, pro-calibre perfromances and an occasional set of whimsy that most Python films - will find this film a good friend to spend 6 hours with.
Simply Perfect.......2007-07-14
This is simply one of the best, well done, immaginative, insightful films I've seen in a long time. I recommend everyone watch it or at least try to make it thru the 5 hours, well well well worth it. I can't wait to see the play in person, I think that would be something quite awesome to see. I'm going to make my mom watch the DVDs.
outstanding!.......2007-03-25
If I could rate it 10 stars I would. Heart-Wrenching, Funny, Appalling, Spiritual, Sexual, Powerful. Evoking Anger, Laughter, Sadness, Joy, Hope, Love for fellow human beings who have been discarded and ignored instead of included and cherished. Amazing Film Adaptation.
Magnificent.......2007-03-03
I have seen many hundreds of movies, and this is only the third that I rate 5 stars. The acting was beyond superb, the screenplay and story line truly outstanding. I saw the play many years ago and totally enjoyed it. The DVD was even better.
While reading the reviews, it becomes obvious folks get different things out of the movie depending on their frame of reference. As a straight man working in San Francisco during the 80s and 90s, I watched the devastation this disease wreaked on friends, colleagues and strangers while the world ignored the issue. This movie gave me an insight into some of the emotional and spiritual struggles of the human beings affected by AIDS. I also loved how the lives of the characters intertwined in unique and sometimes outlandish ways. For me, a truly satisfying film. Most of the reviews express my thoughts better than I. A must see, but schedule 3 hours for each of the 2 DVDs.
Pure Smut.......2007-02-21
I don't recommend this movie. Not sure why the title has the world "angels" in it. Didn't watch the entire movie as it was very depressing and profane. There is a lot of language in it and there is a scene showing two men humping- absolutely nasty.

Red Hot Bangles Live.......2007-09-11
Finally! A live concert DVD from The Bangles! Better yet, a concert at the House Of Blues in LA that I was actually at and it's just as great as I remembered it!! The show is from 2000, so it's before Michael left and we get the original line up. In addition to most of their classic album tracks and singles, we get a live version of their reunion song "Get The Girl" and preview of a half dozen or so from their reunion album (which would be released a couple of years after this show) that would be called "Doll Revolution". Great new songs like "Ride The Ride" mix seamlessly in with their standards and the girls look and sound great. In fact, I think they look BETTER here in the year 2000 than they did in their heyday. As a bonus, for me, I'm in about 40 or 50 different shots of the audience, smiling and bobbing my head in time to the hooks! Rock on, Bangles!!
The Bangles Are MUCH Better Live Than What's On This DVD!.......2007-09-03
I've been a fan since the eighties and after seeing The Bangles live at the Orange County Fair 3 years ago (where they were GREAT!!!), I was VERY dissapointed with the quality of the performance on this DVD. The sound quality is TERRIBLE... and they didn't even choose good performances from various shows. They just recorded one night's show (which was pretty bad) and put it out for sale. What a shame. I expected more from the Bangles. If you have never seen them live, don't think that this is how they sound today... it seems this was recorded when they were just getting back together after 11 years... AND IT SHOWS! They play MUCH better than this now, and I've wish they would care enough to put out a DVD worthy of their talent. I've got to say that I was VERY dissappointed!
Hey Bangles... You Should Be More Careful Of What You Sell To Your Fans! - YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS!!!
Audio quality ruins a great concert.......2007-09-02
A fun concert with all the original members but i agree with other reviewer that audio quality is lacking. No bottom to it and very trebly.Best way around it is to use 2.0 rather than 5.1 and not to play it too loud. The show itself is great and the band has a lot of fun reworking old and new material. You could do worse than to spend 90 minutes watching susannah hoffs who is still one of the hottest females to ever pick up a guitar.Hope they put out another dvd soon with a new sound mixer.
Great for casual or new fans, somewhat disappointing for long-time fans........2007-09-02
Picture and sound quality of concert are very good. Concert itself is edited for this DVD: The songs I'm Not Talking, Ride the Ride and You Were On My Mind were omitted as well as the Waiting For My Man part from Manic Monday and the Mrs. Robinson part from Walk Like An Egyptian. Banter between songs was edited. Commentary by the band members (minus Michael Steele) had some good bits, but mostly anecdotes that long time fans have heard before. The photo sections were basically photos that long time fans are already familiar with. The interview with the band members (minus Michael Steele), while being pretty recent, covered the history of the band - again, die-hard fans should know this stuff by heart now.
If you're a new or casual fan of the Bangles, the issues I brought up shouldn't be a problem for you.
Great atmosphere, shame about the production.......2007-08-30
The Bangles live are unadulterated fun. By no means throw-away bubble-gum pop, they write and sing with such great depth of knowledge and a deft, light touch. It is a pity that the sound mix on this DVD is so thin. Vocals are fine, but guitars drum and bass sound like they are recorded on cassette tape, played on a transistor radio. All treble, no body. The contrast with Manic Monday that plays on the menu background is jolting. Much more enjoyable are the two acoustic bonus tracks and the nostalgic commentary track. I saw them live in Sydney and the ballsy muscularity of that show put the DVD recording to shame.
Description
Sammy Hagar And The Wabos - Livin' It Up Live! - Caught live in St Louis on their sold out 2006 US tour, Sammy And The Wabos bring down the house with songs from their new album, Livin' It Up, as well as some of Sammy's famed solo work. Joined on stage for the second half of the show by legendary Van Halen bassist, Michael Anthony, the band rips through some of rock radio's classic tunes. From "I Can't Drive 55" and "Mas Tequila" to "Finish What You Started" and "Right Now", it's one big Cabo party with the "Red Rocker"! December 6, 1978-it might have started before then but I'll never forget Sammy opening for Ted Nugent at the Checkerdome in St. Louis. Opening acts aren't supposed to have the audience in the palm of their hand but Sammy sure did. His honesty and sincerity captivated the audience. The relationship between this artist and this city would never be the same. Almost 30 years later Sammy is still honest, still sincere and now more than ever, holds the St. Louis audience in the palm of his hand with a shot of Cabo in the other. Sammy fans everywhere just want to know, "What is it with Sammy and St. Louis?" It could be the relationship between Sammy and KSHE radio which dates back to the early 70's and the Montrose days. It could be all of the great solo albums. It could be the days with Van Halen. I think it's a combination of all of the above magnified by the sweat and energy of 33 plus shows that over 500,000 diehard fans have witnessed in this city. Whatever this "thing" is between Sammy and St. Louis it's real, it's heartfelt and spiritual to a degree. Once you watch the DVD you might understand. Favazz--KSHE/St. Louis Songs: Miss Tequila, Mexico, There's Only One Way to Rock, Rainy Day Women (#12/#35), The Girl Gets Around, Rock Candy, I'll Fall in, Love Again, I'll Take You There, Sam I Am, Little White Lie, I Can't Drive 55, Heavy Metal, Good Enough, Summer Nights, Right Now, Finish What You Started, Best of Both Worlds, Fight for Your Right, Cabo Wabo

If you have ever been to a Jimmy Buffet concert (Parrot Head)then you know that the music is the sound track to one hell of a party. This DVD just put Sammy Hagar and the Red Rockers of the world in the same category. This is great and I'm proud to be a member of the Red Rocker family. (Cabo Wabo anybody).
sammy somehow hangin' on.......2007-07-29
every time i try to hang up my sammy hagar shoes...he keeps draggin' me back into his world...this is a quality concert dvd, make no mistake about it, and even though its filmed in St Louis...it reminds me of the beautiful Concord Pavilion right here in the SF Bay Area as the sun is going down on a hot summer night...
That being said, i'm an old school hagar fan, and i'm dying for him to come out with the Three Lock Box concert that was originally aired on MTV (1983-84)...if you were to look up "rock and roll concert" in the dictionary, the definition would be "Sammy Hagar's 1983 Three Lock Box" concert, live in st louis. Sammy's creative juices were flowing at an all time high during this time period, while Standing Hampton & Three Lock Box are easily his two best albums...also, the version of Red on that concert video was the best i've ever seen...
Anyway, back to the topic at hand...this latest St Louis dvd is a good time to be had by all...good song selection, better overall sound quality than the Cabo Wabo Birthday Bash dvd. Everybody Must Get Stoned, aka Rainy Day Women, is an absolute necessity for a hagar show, and it was nice to hear a live version of Good Enough. Vic Johnson rocks all to hell, and genuinely seems like he's having a good time...I personally like when he launches into the hard rockin' Girl Gets Around...that's when I crank up the volume, along with Rock Candy...
There is a funny part of the show where sammy is talking to the crowd about the song Right Now, claiming that one night, he tells vic, hey bro, since we don't have the piano part for this song anymore, i need you to go home tonight, and work out the arrangements for this part on guitar...
and then vic comes back with this sh*t...i was laughing my ass off...
Another reviewer was right about Mona's vocals being badly mixed, it's actually quite embarrassing...doesn't sammy and the rest of his crew do a run through on the dvd before they decide to release it ??? or was this meant as some kind of joke or payback to Mona ???
The only other complaint I have about this show is the fact that...I find it comical that sammy has all these bikini girls on stage with him to try to turn it all into some big ole party for the younger crowd...isn't he a little old for this sorta thing???...I remember seeing him at Bone Bash at Shoreline Amphitheatre one year saying to the crowd "I NEED TO GET ME SOME PUSSAAAYYYY!!!" and i just cringed...and so did all the other hotties around me...whatever happened to it being just about the music...and in sammy's case, his unbelievable kick-ass catalog of songs??
Entertaining.......2007-07-27
I've seen Sammy Hagar more than a handful of times in concert. He is flat out entertaining and captivating. Although I'm from the STL area, this is still a must watch for any SH fans regardless of where you are from.

This movie has a checkered history, having been chopped from its original 227-minute director's cut to 139 minutes for its U.S. release. This longer edition benefits from having the complete story (the short version has huge gaps) about turn-of-the-century Jewish immigrants in America finding their way into lives of crime, as told in flashback by an aging Jewish gangster named Noodles (Robert De Niro). On the other hand, it's almost four hours long, and this sometimes-indulgent Sergio Leone film is no Godfather. Still, it is notable for the contrast between Leone's elegiac take on the gangster film and his occasional explosive action, as well as for the mix of the stoic, inexpressive De Niro and the hyperactive James Woods as his lifelong friend and rival. --Marshall Fine

Make Some Time.......2007-09-03
Once you start watching this movie you can't stop. DeNiro and James Woods are gangsters growing up in New York. One of the best movies I have scene which marks the passage of time.
Corey Cotta, Author of All of Yesterdays Tomorrows
a classic.......2007-08-05
his is an epic, episodic tale of the lives of a small group of New York City Jewish gangsters spanning over 40 years. The movie centers on David 'Noodles' Aaronson (Robert De Niro) and his lifelong partners in crime, Max (James Woods), Cockeye (William Forsythe) and Patsy (James Hayden) and their friends, who all grew up in New York's Lower East Side in the 1920s-1930s. In the late 1960s, an elderly Noodles returns to New York after many years in hiding to look into the past.
Told mostly in flashbacks and flash-forwards, this film is a classic that has us discover great actors, including Jennifer Connelly and Brian Bloom. It features a great cast, like Danny Aiello and Joe Pesci.
One of the masterpieces in film history worth watching.
If you have 4 hours to spare, take your time to watch it. It's worth it - at least once in your lifetime - for the cinematography, the acting, the music, and the directing.
Has there ever been a longer movie?.......2007-07-15
Well, sure. Several.
This movie is looong, and while it deserves to be seen in one sitting, that's not likely.
It's the standard rise-of-a-mob story, enhanced and improved, and even elevated, by the performances of De Niro, Pesci, Woods, and a cast of hundreds.
I admire this film way more than I actually like it. I'm not sure it needs to be owned; rented, perhaps.
Still, it needs to be viewed at least once by anyone who actually loves movies.
Haunting and Brilliant. .......2007-06-19
This is an unbelievably beautiful story which is multi-layered and textured to a great extent. Yes, it certainly is a gangster movie and it also is a love story; although, one about as politically incorrect as they come. Both aspects of the film are conceptually executed well. I can't say the same thing about many of its technical aspects, however. At 3:45, this movie is far too long and moves too slow. It could easily have been just as good if an hour had been cut out of it. Furthermore, Sergio Leone is no Martin Scorsese. There's an element of amateurism inherent to the production as the reunion of Elizabeth McGovern and DeNiro is rendered ridiculous as he was an old man despite her not aging a day after 35 years.
Once Upon a Time in America is a very unique film as unlike a Goodfellas or Casino it is rich in sentimentality and the effect is mesmerizing but also very depressing. Ennio Morricone's musical score adds to the film's melancholic feel. It's not the type of thing you can see more than a couple of times but there's no denying that it's excellent.
LONG AND DRAWN OUT.......2007-06-13
WITH AN ALLSTAR CAST YOU WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE SUPER. BUT IT'S NOTHING MORE THAN A SLEEPER. THIS MOVIE WAS TERRIBLE! I FELT TORTURED SITTING THROUGH THIS BOMB! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ONE.

This 1979 comedy is absolutely indispensable for fans of Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, or Andrew Bergman, who wrote the film's screenplay and went on to direct The Freshman and Honeymoon in Vegas. (Let's forgive him for Striptease.) Arkin is extraordinarily funny as a dentist who quickly grows skeptical about the wild claims of his daughter's future father-in-law (Peter Falk) that he is a CIA agent. When he is drawn into a bizarre adventure in a banana republic, however, he takes a different view. Arthur Hiller (Love Story) provides serviceable direction, but the real draw here is the perfect chemistry between the two leads and Bergman's weirdly comic mind. Watch for the look on Arkin's face when Falk's character tells a story about giant tse-tse flies. --Tom Keogh
Description
Comedy about a dentist who gets mired in the bizarre intrigues of his daughter's soon-to-be father-in-law, who claims to be a CIA agent.

The In-Laws.......2007-07-05
Arthur Hiller's hilarious spoof (written by the talented Andrew Bergman) is propelled by an ever-escalating series of death-defying comic set-pieces, with Falk the epitome of seasoned nonchalance and Arkin, who up to now has led a quiet, ordered life in Scarsdale, having a series of well-justified nervous breakdowns. Scenes in a fictional banana republic ruled by demented dictator General Garcia (Richard Libertini) are particularly inspired. Ultimately, what makes this comedy sing is the divine chemistry between Falk and Arkin, two comedic pros in their element. Beware the inferior remake.
Clean Buddy Movie Comedy.......2007-04-22
This is one of the classic buddy movies of its kind. The humor and satire are funny and insightful. There is no vulgarity so you can have teenagers watch this movie. This version is much better than the Michael Douglas remake by the same title. Alan Arkin is a consumate actor who displays a surban dentist in over his head. And Peter Falk is hilarious as the CIA spy or not. Alan Arkin does a great job stealing the movie as he does in many of his movies. See Alan Arkin in the movie Poppi, a tear jerker comedy with the most adorable kids.
funnyest in-laws movie i ever seen!!!.......2007-04-12
still to this day. this is the funnyest in-laws movie ever seen!!! if you like peter falk.(the colombo)you will laugh your butts out!!!with this one!!
A classic!.......2007-03-09
So much better than the 2003 version. Every time I watch this movie my face hurts from laughing.
Far Superior to the Remake.......2007-02-22
The 1979 version of The In-Laws is so much better than the pathetic remake of a few years ago, its not even funny.
What made the original so great was the screenplay by Andrew Bergman who also wrote the scripts for Blazing Saddles, Fletch and The Freshman. Bergman's script was finely tuned to the personas of Alan Arkin and Peter Falk to a degree that few screeenplays nowadays are. Falk's character was written as a dishonest version of Lieutenant Columbo that added to the fun. Perhaps no other film could take such an ungainly phrase as "serpentine, Shelly, serpentine" and provoke so much laughter with it.
Add in the on-screen chemistry of Arkin and Falk and you have yourself a comedic winner.

Beside You In Time - Bluray - WOW.......2007-06-13
Whether you are a Trent Reznor fanatic or not, this BluRay is stunning. The audio quality is superb and the high definition video and editing bring the 'live concert at home' experience to a whole new level. If you've got a 1080p tv and an HDMI connection, hold on tight. This is a must buy and Amazon's price was well below the $25 retail. I searched throughout South Florida to buy this BluRay, and could not find it anywhere. Go Amazon. Go NIN!

A fun concert experience.......2007-05-15
I haven't been able to attend a NIN concert in 10 or so years, but getting to watch this in HD was a real treat. Plus I didn't have to drive anywhere or deal with a crowd. This is a very well done concert and it looks and sounds great. I highly recommend!
Damn........2007-05-12
This is really an amazing DVD. NIN concerts aren't really about the music (yes they are), they're more about the experience. Trent views all of the forms that he portrays his music as just another way to see/hear his music, and this is no different.
It is the virtual opposite of his last DVD - filmed with handheld camcorders. AATCHB was a fantastic DVD in its own right, and it had a certain raw quality to it. This on the other hand is just beautiful. Extremely well produced. A great setlist, plus great extra songs (no easter eggs :(, and it all is HD! What more do you want? Well I guess you could ask fora a totally JACKED trent reznor...done.
One of the best concert DVDs ever.......2007-05-12
Wow! Amazing visuals and sound! Incredible concert that blows you away with the vision and sheer energy. Highly recommended for NIN fans.
IMPRESSIVE!!.......2007-05-11
I still can't believe the performance in this DVD, simply superb, this is by far the best NIN show ever! the lights, the sound! seeing this show in High Definition is delusional, my eyes were filled with tears of joy, dont think twice if you have a little interest on this DVD, BUY IT NOW!!!
