A Pornographic Film for the Ladies.......2006-02-09

Pornography by definition is the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement. There are numerous items available on Amazon, which could be considered pornographic in the books and video sections.

When it comes to films, you can divide pornography into two parts, softcore pornography, in which the sexual liaisons are assumed to be simulated and hardcore pornography, in which coitus. Fellatio and cunnilingus actually take place, graphically displayed, and enhanced for the viewer.

Candida Royalle's Stud Hunters is one of the latter in which actual sex, showing penetration. It is X rated. Many reviewers on the other Candida Royalle movies seem to think Candida's movies are too tame. Since they are the most explicit films available on Amazon, I suggest that they are looking for the right thing but in the wrong place.

There are many sites where the standard XXX fare is offered but from my experience ladies, at least classy ladies do not like the standard XXX fare, which usually demean and abuse women and get into deviant sex.

Candida's films are in a more romantic setting and there is no frantic pace to get as much sex into forty minutes as possible. This film is the exception to that formula. The plot of this film is different, less romantic. In fact, it's not romantic at all. In this satirical film about the adult film industry; Candida Royalle turns the tables, or should I say casting couch on the boys. Two ladies, one a producer/director, played by Ava Vincent and the other an adult film star, played by Alexandra Silk head to New York to audition dozens of wannabe male porn stars. The film is slightly humorous; the action is good and still refrains from devolving into degrading sex.

ZERO Stars ... Not A Good Offering From Candida Royalle.......2006-01-22

I like Candida Royalle's erotic/porn movies because they focus on female pleasure - there's a little more foreplay, tenderness, and heartfelt acting than in traditional suck-and-f**ks. Additionally, each sex scene focuses on the woman achieving orgasm. Candida's other films, EYES OF DESIRE and BRIDAL SHOWER, offered a more fulfilling erotic experience.

STUD HUNTERS is different. The acting is especially poor. I couldn't understand while C.R. struggled to develop and draw out the plot when it was obviously just a device to facilitate sex scenes (a female porno director wants to audition real men for her next erotic film). Also, there was an annoying tendancy to play music over the sex - I prefer the "real life" soundtrack. Finally, the reactions of the women having sex, and the scenarios they acted out, seemed very contrived and fake. I don't believe a single woman enjoyed an orgasm, and if the scene did have some merit, it was quickly discredited by ridiculous attempts at humor.

Overall, a major disappointment. I discourage all viewers from watching this film. Try EYES OF DESIRE.

Boring, With Bad Acting To Boot.... Zero Stars.......2005-06-04

I was looking for an erotic video for my wife and I to enjoy together. I bought this video because the customer reviews sounded promising. What a disappointment! The good news? The pain was over in 83 minutes.

Right from the opening scene, you'll know you're in for less-than-a-treat. The "acting" is terrible and the script is embarassingly stupid and cheesy. The "erotic" scenes are, in large part, not erotic.

I'm trying to think of a target audience for this video. If you're looking for an erotic movie that a mainstream couple can share together, look somewhere else. There is certainly nothing "hardcore" or "pornographic" about it, so if you're into that, sorry!

I'd like to end my review on a positive note, but I really can't think of any.

A fun surprise!.......2003-10-19

I had heard of Candida Royalle's work but had never seen any and I have to admit I was skeptical. It was definitely different from other sex movies I've seen. It was funny and the erotic scenes were both tender and hot. Even my husband liked it!
