These brief features--barely an hour apiece--continue the adventures of the Bogard Brothers, Terry and Andy, from the popular video game. In "Legend of the Hungry Wolf," the adolescent brothers witness the murder of their father by Geese Howard. After 10 years of intensive martial arts training, they're ready to seek revenge, but Master Tung will teach only one of them the secret Hurricane Punch. He chooses Terry, who draws strength from the chi of the Earth. Along the way, the brothers meet kickboxer Joe Higashi and Lily, the mysterious barroom queen. An injured Terry is traumatized when he loses a fight to evil German aristocrat Wolfgang Krauser in "New Battle." He binges on self-pity and scotch until his confidence is restored by a feisty kid and the ghosts of Master Tung and Lily. Ninja girl Mai Shiranui provides comic relief and jiggle interest. In both films, Andy and Joe rush precipitously into battle and get the cookies beaten out of them, leaving Terry to destroy the enemy. Although Terry kills Geese in "Hungry Wolf," he's alive at the end of "New Battle," leaving open the possibility of further sequels. Anime villains have more lives than cats. Not rated: suitable for ages 13 and up for considerable violence, alcohol use, and sexual humor. --Charles Solomon

Very good price for one dvd with 2 movies. And it is great 2 movies based on the fatal fury and king of fighters series of fighting games.

4 out of 5 stars Great Anime, Great Deal.......2006-08-01

I enjoy anime where people fight in Giant Robots or fight with super powers. Fatal Fury Double Impact satifies the latter in a major way.

3 out of 5 stars Fatal faulk.......2005-06-12

I like the video arcade games better then this second movie. Capcom needs some work.

2 out of 5 stars If your a martial arts fan... you may not love this.......2005-05-31

If your a Fatal Fury fan... maybe you will. But I didn't. How this anime is considered one of the best completely escapes me. This collection has the first 2 Fatal Fury movies and I tell you they are both barely decent at best.

Anyway, the story for the first one is. Terry and Andy witness their father being killed by Geese Howard. Their later told to go away and train and return in 10 years to avenge their fathers death. Sounds interesting right. Too bad this first one suffers greatly from incredibly short fight scenes. There are no deep martial art, fisticuff fights in this. All of the battles are either one or two hit special moves... To include the final battle! The first one really isn't all that great.

The second movie. Which is longer than the first. Better than the first but not by much. Geese has a brother for no other reason except for entertainment purposes. He wants to beat the guy, who beat his brother. Sounds cool right. Well this chapter suffers from the same ailments as the first. Very short fight scenes, decided by one to three(oh wow, one move extra) moves. A battle between Terry and Andy should be epic. Not one kick and one punch, followed by 5 seconds of unseen action. And two special moves, yet again. The only thing that saves this from one star is the final battle. That's the saving grace and its actually a pretty good fight.

Fatal Fury is alright at best. I'll give the movies some credit. The second one has decent animation while the first one doesn't. To include both movies have a pretty decent soundtrack. However this is not enough to earn a decent rating from me. Next to far superior martial arts anime such as Baki the Grappler, Streetfighter V, and the SF movie. This really has nothing to offer. Don't let people tell you this is worth 50 bucks because they are lying to you. I know at least one website you can get this for at the most 20 bucks and less. Dont let these price gougers get you for this anime. Its barely worth 20 bucks.

The first Fatal Fury was very cheesy and the animation was off. It did not hold true to the characters in terms of looks and character (except Terry, of course).

Now, the second Fatal Fury was downright awesome. Terry, Tony, Andy, and Joe all are developed so beautifully and in such a great plot. I don't know who they got to do Krauser's character, but by gone, they did an excellent job. I love it that he was not so easily beat; it demonstrated how powerful he really was ('cause he was such a cheater in the game!)

If you can find the second one on DVD by itself, go ahead and get it; it is my personal opinion that the first one is not worth the money because of how poorly it its developed.
