super funny show , comedy is back with this season, you'll love it trust me!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOW.......2007-07-25
i loved this show its sooooooo funny and brad is the best hope there is a second season
Surprisingly funny!.......2007-07-22
No, this show is certainly not a favorite of critics. But if you just sit there and watch some episodes, it really does make you laugh. The writers really know how to turn marriage into comedy. I'm perfectly happy just sitting back and letting Brad and Joely shine in this surpringly entertaining sitcom. I hope to see it continue to grow in 2007-08 -- it's got a lot of potential, if people would stop dismissing it as garbage.
Great Show.......2007-06-27
This show is incredibly funny, especially with Brad Garrett as the main star. I was just talking about it the night of the season finale, hoping it would be released on DVD, and sure enough, it will be released just in time for the second season to air on television. If you watch Everybody Loves Raymond, YOU WILL LOVE THIS SHOW. I hope this review was helpfull.

For being one of the shows that's often thought of as an example of reality TV's origins, there's never been much reality in the overly long-lived series The Simple Life. This two-sided, single disc of the fourth (and last) season has even less to do with reality than any of its preceding installments. Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are still acting their parts of simpleton celebrities thrust into the "real" lives of regular folk, but during the contractually obligated production of what had become an astonishingly popular show, the poor little rich girls were in the midst of a bitter feud. They hated each others' guts, weren't speaking, and thanks to the machinations of their individual publicity experts, the whole world knew it. Consequently, the two rarely share screen time together except for ample sequences of split-screening, which makes for an even more bizarre pairing for two dim-witted million-heiresses who remain famous for nothing more that, well, being famous. Season four consists of a variety of slices of suburban Los Angeles family life with the wife/mother role being taken over on alternate days by either Paris or Nicole. As usual, they sneer and make fun of the lower class that they visit--all the while showing absolutely no class of their own. Their feud is vaguely addressed in the first episode, with the other nine being fairly rote imitations of their earlier-season forays into the humdrum of screaming kids, grocery shopping, preparing food, bill-paying, and every other mundane things the girls have been coached into criticizing and laughing at by the show's producers. We're invited into some parts of the girls' "real" lives with glimpses into their homes amidst their psychological destruction of others'. But as with the prior seasons, the can't-look-away-from-the-train-wreck aspect is the thing that keeps our attention. They hate us and we hate them, so it's the very definition of symbiotic entertainment. Since they also hate each other there's an extra element of amusement; only don't think too hard lest the fine line between amusement and contempt disappears. Who knows if their feud was real or made up by the genius publicity machines behind their fame. One thing that's not made up and definitely not comical is the gruesome change in Nicole Richie's body as her issues with low body weight reveal itself over the course of the episodes. No matter how much Paris despised her, she should have taken her ex-friend to In-N-Out for a few late-night burger binges (without the purging). --Ted Fry
Description
America's hottest celebutantes, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, are back, and this time, they're taking over the country one family at a time! With their heated rivalry in high gear, the girls compete fiercely to see who would make a better housewife. Each hilarious episode brings a new family, a new challenge, and a new excuse to party! Never mind the fact that there are diapers to change and houses to clean when there are tequila shots to down and strip clubs to hit! Reality television has never been this wild...Simply put, it's simply outrageous!

United they stand, Divided they fall.............2007-08-10
This show is "simply" not what it was during the first three seasons. The show just doesn't seem to work with them separated. It's not as funny, and really not that enjoyable to watch. The fifth season, which featured the girls reunited, is much better. Seasons 1,2,3, and 5 are very good. However, if you absolutely much have the complete series, wait until you see this season is on clearance somewhere for like $5.00.
That's hot.......2007-05-14
i love these girls nicole is so funny and it is just so ridiculous in general I can't help but watch what they will do or say next without remorse
Till death do us part, literally.......2007-05-08
This DVD gives a good laugh to all ages, young or old. But it has no meaning to it, really. This meaningless humour is what keeps people wanting more and more. No one will get enough of them :)
Time-Killing Fluff that is rather enjoyable.......2007-05-08
I'll admit it. I have watched every season of "The Simple Life" since the show's premier on FOX several summers ago. I wasn't going to watch the show, but thanks to the no-mans-land of repeats I found myself watching the premier with my mother one evening, and the strangest thing happened: neither of could stop laughing! We watched the entire season cracking up and actually looking forward to the next mis-adventure. The following summer with the double-long "Road Trip" season the same thing happened. I don't know how or why but we found this wildly entertaining. Although by season three it was more of the same and things started to get stale.
While people critisize this season because the girls are rarely together, that is the part I liked the best. You were able to compare and contrast the girls two vastly different styles and wild-scheme. The Simple Life 4 is by no means appointment, or even "good" TV, but it is a very worthy waste of several hours one afternoon.
just wait till next season........2007-05-05
the 4th season is a complete disappointment. but, wait till next season. when paris is sentanced to 45 days in jail, she turns to her lawyer and asks, 'is that a place that sells ale ??' then we get episodes of 45 days and nights in a california 'spa cupcake' with color tv, air conditioning, low-fat no added salt chicken diet, paris drinking her first cup of jail brewed 'buck', and nicole visiting. then again, the judge should have sent paris to the arizona maricopa county tent jail. the episodes of paris working different jobs on the 'chain-gang' would be much more entertaining, especially with nicole crusing by in a limo.

Well, it's better than "Mazes and Monsters".......2006-12-27
A fantasy-prone geeky kid (so geeky that the other members of his role-playing group taunt him) dies and a BLACK KNIGHT rises up to avenge him. Kind of ho-hum in that there is no nudity (that's actually okay given the cast), the violence is on par with a made-for-TV movie, and the plot is pretty predictable. I liked the effort that they put into it to make RPGs seem sinister and sexy.
THIS IS JUST STUPID !!!!.......2004-12-03
I love my LOW-BUDGET horror movies like "REDNECK ZOMBIES" Dante Tomaselli's "HORROR" & Tobe Hooper's "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE" & i also love my big budget horror movies like "HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES" "CABIN FEVER" & "ALIEN" & every other good fun horror movie that is in between! BUT THIS MOVIE HAS NOTHING GOING FOR IT! ITS A REDICULOUS WASTE OF TIME! ITS ANNOYING! THE STORY & THE ACTORS JUST DIDN'T PULL OFF WHAT IT SEEMED THEY MIGHT HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PULL OFF!WHAT EVER THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN! ANYWAY IT JUST SUCKED IT WAS STUPID DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!! later on fellow horror fanz!
YAWN.......2004-10-02
An "artsy" attempt at horror that falls flat on its face. Acting and direction are amatuerish, and the movie's score overrides so much of the dialogue, you want to scream. It has a very slow and ill-acted opening, and it takes forever to get to any meaty substance. Role playing games come across even more banal than I had thought. Miss this one--there are no chills here!
Knighty Knightmare..........2004-06-16
A group of role-playing game enthusiasts gather every saturday night in their teacher's basement for swords, sorcery, and beers. One guy (played by Michael Wayne Walton) is a little bit TOO into the game, fantasizing about his knightly role with a girl gamer, who wants nothing to do with him. The bozo winds up driving into a tree and burning up, moments after swearing an oath to the great knight-of-the-rose pantheon. Soon, other saturday night gamers start turning up dead, cut to pieces by a dark knight on a big horse. Police are baffled, but we're not! I liked most of this movie. Not bad for a micro-budget indie...
BURN OUTS PROUD & TRUE WILL LOVE THIS FLICK!.......2003-05-21
I would have to say that the goofy dudes watching the horror movies looking for the bimbos with the...wait! I like that to...anyway...there are some cool characters in this story but I really dug the burnout guy Zac! "We are the burnouts proud and true, we grow our own [stuff] and smoke it too. I know one day that we'll all die but when we go we'll all go HIGH" 10 STARS! These guys were smoking buds and making some low budget horror art! As for the others who didn't get the film, watch it again. Watch it while giving the burnout pledge of alligence. That is soo catchy that me and my buds require that of our comrades. Dude, Zac for president plus he has cool friends and a hot girlfriend. I bet the other dudes slamming this flick has neither the friends or the chicks. Later!

Who Knew Backround Episodes Could Be So Good!.......2006-07-08
This volume is a great follow up to the first. Finally we get to see the Mira from the trailer, and the whole Max storyline brought up the past that also forshadowed the possible future. The English Team episodes didn't move the overall story too much, but they were the funnest to date and helped out Goh and Anna's relationship. If you like Godannar, I invite you to check out my website at community.webtv.net/GodannarJunkie
Ahhh yeaaah Godannar all the way!!!!!!.......2006-04-07
This volume kicks off just like the other one plenty of fighting and plenty of awesome graphics. They even slowed down just enough to uncover some things, but I'm still in the dark. I still havent seen that cloaked robot from the intro. I want to see it, they showed it a little bit in the preview of the next volume though. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this guy is cool.
More Fun! A unique anime (with great fanservice).......2006-04-07
This is a funny, charming, delightful, adventurous, romantic, melodramatic, and overall just a plain good time! An odd series about a guy named Goh. Poor Goh. He's a robot pilot, pretty serious and determined, although he can get rather dramatic and sentimental when women are concerned. And a lot of women drop into his lap (and house): his wife, Anna, a 17 year old girl he saved five years ago and who has a mega-hero-worship thing (cannot figure out why Goh chose Anna, tho) who also becomes a robot pilot, although she hasn't told her schoolmates she's married; Mira, the old girlfriend who died but isn't dead and who has come back rather "out of it"; Lu, the orphan that Goh takes under his wing as a 'daughter'; another robot pilot who has a crush on him; his new wife's busty mother (and his boss); and add a pregnant cat. Every episode seems to need at least one battle where Anna and Goh's robots join together (in fact, every robot needs to do that...why not just create one robot that can do both?), a battle that only Goh and Anna can resolve. Goh can go over the top emotionally, but that's funny, too. There are also a Lot Lot Lot of cleavage (but minimal nudity), sexually charged jokes and situations, and random funny stuff. Gotta watch this series.
The second disk of this series centers around Mira, Goh's ex-lover. During a battle with Minimic/Club Mariner (old robot) hybrid, two things are "birthed" out of the creature that have been held there for over five years! One is Max, an old pal of Goh, who has been slightly mutated by living within the monster, and, even more surprising, Mira, who is quickly whisked away. Goh discovers Mira, which causes him dismay, since he married another. Anna, thinking Goh is cheating on her, does some spying and discovers Mira, who is basically a blank slate (although she does some pretty interesting and creepy stuff throughout this disk). Anna, thinking the girl is just some traumatized robot pilot, "adopts" and trains her. When Max goes nuts and attacks the base, Goh and Mira's relationship is revealed--much to Anna's hurt.
Another episode deals with the Enlish pilots, a brother and sister team (but not by blood), which is kinda sweet (as long as you know they are not blood related).
The saga continues..........2005-11-29
Contrary to how ADVision's Godannar volume 1 girly preview made it seem, volume 2 remains totally serious in nature. The pacing slows down somewhat and there is slightly less fighting in this volume, and more time given to the story. Unfortunately not much is revealed and more questions arise than answers. From the preview of volume 3 it appears that Godannar Season One ends with a flurry of continuous gigantic fights, so all the mysteries will have to wait at least until Godannar Season Two begins in DVD volume 4.
In general, the art and animation quality are slightly lower for these episodes compared to before, but it's still top notch stuff. From the previews it appears that more resources are put into volume 3.
The quality of the subtitling and the dubbing seemed to go down as well, but this has to do with ADVision and has nothing to do with the original Japanese product. Also, the bass levels on the dub track are now the same as the Japanese track. In volume 1, the dub track had hugely boosted bass and treble which were annoying. The treble level on the dub track remains boosted in volume 2.
Overall though Godannar remains the same. It is mostly action and so the story develops at a snail's pace. It will be interesting to see how far the story manages to get when the series is done.

Customer Reviews:
This is a classic!.......2002-11-27
This film is dope, no gloss, no hype, buy it...raw underground film making for the hiphop generation.
adequate.......2001-07-25
Fans of Redman, the Lost Boyz and other such artists will probably like "Statistic" more than me.
The Statistic's poor direction made it difficult to follow what was going on. However, I got used to after it after a while.
The image quality however was top notch. Very few DVDs look this good.
The director's comments (not included on the VHS to my knowledge) were not very good. They brought no additional enjoyment to the movie.
Overall, this DVD was just OK.
