2 out of 5 stars No ninjas .......2006-11-05

Not only no ninjas, but that shot of Bruce 'Le' with a machine gun doesn't show up in the mvoie either. Basically Bruce Le is called in to handle a case and it is basically him just getting in one fight after the other. It was Nice Cheung, even in a limited rle. James Nam is decent as the Karate master and Lo Lieh has a cameo and also my favorite fight of the movie. The final fight with Kong Do is hardly worth watching but a female karate cop helped to get me through this movie for the full 86 minutes. Overall it is clear that Bruce Le is a good action choreographer, he just sucks at actually performing the action. Recommended for people who want a fight filled movie that it barely a step above of the standard chop and block.

Picture quality is full screened but watchable.

5 out of 5 stars I ACTUALLY LIKE THIS MOVIE.......2003-11-07

I enjoyed this movie although, apparently most Bruce Le fans hate this movie. The film is scenes from three already completed Bruce Le movies edited together with a re-dubbed soundtrack. In one scene, you can actually hear the real dialogue when Bruce says "You stay here". I got this movie for my birthday before I was aware of the history of the film. It seems that producers like to cash in on Bruce Le and try to make money out of selling a "new" film. As you can probably imagine, the story is complicated. Bruce Wong (Bruce Le) is a cop who is looking for a valuable flask. He goes to Korea to find it. He's in disguise by wearing sun glasses and a fake beard. He gets found out and a gang who appear to know something about the flask, take him into a forest or something and beat the hell out of him. The police arrive, the gang run away and Bruce escapes in a car. That didn't go to well. He goes to Manilla to meet up with his former kung fu student... that's enough. Watch the movie to find out what happens.

3 out of 5 stars Can you take a guess at which one of these movies actually have ninjas in it?.......2006-11-12

NINJA IN THE DEADLY TRAP-Ninja in the Deadly Trap is not a bad movie, it is just extremely boring. It seems to have a lot of waiting around until we get to the action. The 3 most acrobatic venoms play the good guys in this film which was certainly a change for Lu Feng. So the General played by Ti Lung has been attacked and he sends his son to find these 3 great fighters. Their master has a line straight out of 5 deady Venoms but this movie sticks more to the 'Chinese Super Ninja' style. In fact, it was made in the mid eighties around the same time as Super Ninjas was made. It really does feel like a cheap ripoff, not just of Super Ninjas, btu many other Venom films. I can still look beyond the incredibly boring and unoriginal story though and be happy with the great action. Phillip Kwok is just amazing with his choreography but even the action starts to feel cheap. You don't have those 30 movements in one shot like you used to for their Shawbrothers films, and we don't get those spectacular 10-15 minute fighting sequences. Still, seeing Lu Feng, Phillip Kwok, and Chiang Sheng go at it with Yusuaki Kuratu and other no names got me by for the night. Still, the biggest dissapointment was seeing Ti Lung in a non fighting role, I think that he got literally a single swipe with his sword. It's Ti Lung, did he break his leg or something before the shoot?

The commentary is ok but warning, they give away the entire plot of 'Chinese Super Ninjas'. They do give some good info on Sheng and Kwok, but don't even mention any of the Taiwanese films Sheng did like Ninja Death or Drunken Dragon or how he directed Ninja USA and Ninja Death... Picture is full screened but it is watchable. 3.5/5

NINJA VS. BRUCE LEE-Ok first off, THERE ARE NO FREAKING NINJAS!!!!!!!!! Not only no ninjas, but that shot of Bruce 'Le' with a machine gun doesn't show up in the movie either. Picture quality is full screened but watchable. 1.5/5

Overall not a good 2 pack of movies, but not terrible either. Check out the 6 pack called Ninja 6 that Tai Seng put out recently. A lot more bang for your buck.
