This cute movie by William Dear stars John Lithgow as a family man who befriends a Sasquatch (a.k.a. Bigfoot) and brings the friendly monster's oversized, hairy self into his Seattle home. Mayhem and comedy ensue, but things take a heavier turn when a hunter (David Suchet) gets on the creature's trail. Everything hinges on the relationship between Lithgow's character and Harry (the Sasquatch), and that relationship is really quite effective and touching. Don Ameche is a hoot as an old guy who has dreamed of meeting Bigfoot all his life and finally gets the glorious chance. --Tom Keogh

Description

John Lithgow takes adventure to new heights in this big-laughs, big-hearted, big-footed comedy for the whole family! A chance car accident introduces the Hendersons to the real-life Bigfoot, who is anything but a ferocious monster and quickly becomes a true friend to the family. They're soon in a race against the clock to return "Harry" to his natural environment before the authorities capture him. The fur will fly in this feel-good romp - an Oscar winner for Best Makeup - the whole family will enjoy again and again!

5 out of 5 stars Harry and the Hendersons (Special Edition).......2007-09-08

I love this movie, I was so glad it came out on DVD. I always wanted my 2 sons to see it but I could never find it anywhere. It was as good as I remembered it to be and my kids thought it was great and have watched a number of times since we first watched it.

4 out of 5 stars Great Family Fun.......2007-06-27

I had seen this movie many times when I was a kid and always loved it. "Harry" is great family movie full of Hilarious scenes that will make you laugh out loud! It asks the question "What is Bigfoot really existed?". Would he be able to be seen as a gentle beast? Great for children as it shows that all "animals" aren't mean and nasty and don't deserve to be killed just because we can. If you are looking for a movie with great laughs for kids and adults alike then see "Harry and the Hendersons" I believe it is a movie everyone can enjoy!

4 out of 5 stars Harry and the Hendersons .......2007-06-02

Nice liitle movie about a 'fictional' character set in the Seattle area .
Great fun for the whole family .... and you get to see John Lithgow with more hair (funny how we lose our cranial covering and then it migrates to other parts of the body ) and Melinda Dillon fresh from closeEncounters of the 3rd kind .
Don Ameche is wonderful.

Something to let all kids watch ...reminds me of the best 'Disney' stuff when I was a kid .

5 out of 5 stars Don't Miss This Movie.......2007-05-31

It was great to revisit a movie I have always loved. Many people have been searching for a release of this movie and now it has finally come to DVD. The "extras" are mostly promotional material that supported the movies original release so don't expect much there, but the movie itself is awesome!

5 out of 5 stars Once upon a time with Harry .......2007-05-30

Great for children and adults, this movie can be watched over and over again. Enjoy the comedy and the imaginative creation of Harry.

5 out of 5 stars Another Classic 80's Horror Flick!.......2007-07-22

Critters is a must own for anybody who loves 80's horror movies. It's just a great movie and brings back memories from my childhood of fun filled nights with scary movies and not a worry in the world!

1 out of 5 stars Primitive special effects + Bad acting = Worthless movie.......2007-05-24

The special effects in this movie are jokes. The creatures look exactly like furry puppets. The video quality is a shame. It's faded and grainy. The acting is like that of a bad movie show. The Gremlins is more exciting, interesting and entertaining. I regret I bought it even though it cost me only $10.

4 out of 5 stars Just good fun..........2007-05-21

This movie was just as much fun as the first time I saw it! What's not to love? Alien's that eat everything in sight and cause trouble across the universe. Shape shifting alien bounty hunters. And a small town invaded by Critters. Nice.

5 out of 5 stars Move over Bobba Feet.......2007-01-25

This movie when it came out in the mid eighties was a huge hit. A word of warming this movie has heavy language in it, heavy gore heavy scince fiction action sequences in it. As a result I do not recommend this movie to any one under the age of thirteen unless suprevised by at leasst two parents or guardians. There also three parts in this movie with vandalism once in a church, one in a bowling ale and one on a farm with Piano's and other protery being blown to bits by the two bounty hunters because they are trigger happy and get startled and aroused easily. Critters is the ultimate storey of good versus evil. As the stroey begins a space ship is arriving carring 8 prisoners to a high security space prison on an ansteriod. The prisoner are 8 super agressive crinmals of a species of meat eatting toxic aliens known as the Krites. There are eight remaining Krites you see when the krites were orrignally arrested there were ten of them aboard the ship but because of the krites super vorcaious appetite to eat everything insite they aliens that arrested them were forced two kill to of the krites in order to make there food supply last until they reached the prison. The krites have just arrived the prison. The warden sensing something is wrong sends some of the prison guards to the termination cell to check on krite. Shortly after the guards arrive at the cell some how through ways never explained the krites set of and explosion blowing a whole in the cell. The explosion kills to of the guards and the krites escape in a space ship to earth. They are persued there by two faceless shapesifting bounty hunter Ug and Lee. Once on earth the krites begin there rain of destruction. First a police cop is attacked by a single krite and after being stunned by a poison quill is dragged under his police car and is killed. The krites adventually end up at a farm in Kansas belonging to the Brown Family after killing a cow and the boy friend of Bradly brown's sister the Brown family alone must face off against these eight terrors from space. Will they Browns stop the krites and will the Bounty hunters get there in time or will the town of Grovers bend fall to ruin. Find out in the action packed conclusion

4 out of 5 stars Fun and entertaining.......2006-04-10

I cannot help but laugh every time I see people bashing each other over a movie. Disliking a certain film is one thing. But for somebody to go out of their way and flagrantly insult a total stranger over their enjoyment of a particular film they happened to hate is unnecessary and immature. Amazon should police these reviews a bit more seriously.

"Critters" is a fond and harmless throwback to the sort of monster movie so prevalent in the mid-1950s sci-fi boom. I cannot so easily classify the plot as straight-up horror, because it really isn't. This is more of a hodgepodge. You get a smattering of horror, comedy, and science fiction all rolled up within a singular and satisfying package. I caught this in a theater with my father twenty years ago, and it has always remained a guilty pleasure of mine. None of the special effects are overdone, the writing is suitable, and I found most of the cast agreeable and entertaining.

I have found over the years that many of us tend to take our movies way too seriously. In the end, I could really care less that "Critters" doesn't follow the rules of reality. Because, when I pay to see movies like this, reality is something I want to escape from.

ORCA: THE KILLER WHALE stars Richard Harris and Bo Derek in her screen debut in an epic struggle between a strong and determined fisherman and an equally determined whale. When the whale's pregnant mate is killed, it goes on a rampage, seeking revenge on the man by smashing boats, collapsing buildings and causing extreme destruction by fire.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Never Slight An Orca!.......2007-08-13

Richard Harris intends to merely capture and sell a male Orca, but accidentally kills a female of the species that happens to be pregnant. The mate of the pregnant Orca seeks revenge. Harris, ashamed at his mistake, has no intention of confronting the male Orca despite the fact that Harris is now being stalked by the aquatic monster! To force Harris' hand into combat, the outraged Orca sinks several fishing ships and graphically bites off one of Bo Derek's (a mate of Harris) legs. Harris now has no choice; he must confront his enemy in its environment.

This movie not only has well-executed action sequences, but a heart-breaking sequence of the dying Orca and her mate that will leave a lump in the throats of even the most hard-boiled male viewers.

Orcas, as we're reminded in the movie, have larger brains than humans, and their embryos resemble human embryos with hands! While Orcas can be gentle, they will defend themselves. The movie's theme: Never slight an Orca!

4 out of 5 stars Orca Killer Whale.......2007-06-11

Brilliant. One of the best sea / ocean horror movies of that time. Richard Harris is brilliant and the special effects are great. A must have if you loved the Jaws movies. XXXX

4 out of 5 stars It's no "Jaws", but it's wonderfully entertaining just the same.......2007-06-10

The success of Spielberg's 1975 first to crack the 100 million mark landmark film Jaws spawned a whole series of "us against it" genre films of which several were water-based like the dreadful Tentacles and the rest were equally poor only taking place on land such as the campy Day of the Animals. However, a few were standouts and "Orca" was one of them.

Wonderfully and sensitively acted by the late great Richard Harris (A Man Called Horse and Camelot), the always convincing Charlotte Rampling (The Verdict), and the ever noble Will Sampson (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Poltergeist II: The Other Side). It is also memorable as the first film for Bo (10) Derek who manages to actually keep her clothes on in this film.

The storyline is intelligent and believable. There are no memorable cliches or unimportant scenes. The film is compact and to the point at a brief 92 minutes. The direction and editing is sturdy and skillful. The photography is absolutely brilliant. Every shot is beautifully filmed. The music is, unfortunately, forgettable and uninspiring.

Don't let the comparisons to "Jaws" scare you off. This film may not be in that ballpark, but its field is only a block or two away.

5 out of 5 stars orca.......2007-03-20

i bought this film for my son as he saw it a long time ago and really loved it as it is to do with killer whales and he is addicted to them it is a really good film and it shows me that even mammels have feelings too

4 out of 5 stars It is what it is..........2007-04-24

You can look at the cover and know it's not an A-list blockbuster. That being said, for a horror/comedy, I've always thought it was awesome. The aliens are reasonably original (obviously there was a first movie, but you know what I mean), they are cute and cuddly, with lots of teeth and poison darts in their heads; how can you not love them? The characters are reasonably well developed between the two films (they're best watched back to back, though I would skip parts 3 and 4). The special effects, while not stellar, are definately good enough to support the film in the necessary ways. And yes, who can forget the giant ball o' Critters rolling down fleeing citizens and leaving twitching skeletons in its wake (I tend to watch that part five or six times every time I watch this movie). Again, not a deeply fulfilling interpersonal drama, or whatever, but very entertaining, campy alien horror, with enough humor to keep it from being too dark. I definately recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars More Like 3.75 Stars.......2007-03-26

Critters is one of those sequels that actually tries to continue the storyline from the original film rather than just throw the Critters into a totally new environment and slap a "part 2" on it. Basically those Critter eggs we saw in the last shot of the first film have now hatched. Why it took two years for them to hatch is a mystery, but who can afford to be logical with a concept like this? At the same time as this goes on, Brad, the hero boy from the first film, comes back into town to see his hardcore vegetarian gramma. This time the whole town is under siege rather than one farm, coz there are many more Critters to deal with. The bounty hunters also return to help. Terrence Mann is back as the Johnny Steele bounty hunter. No poofy, blonde rocker hair this time, and he doesn't sing "Power of the Night"!! Charlie(Opper) has been hanging out with Mann and his faceless sidekick as an apprentice bounty hunter, and he returns as well. M. Emmet Walsh doesn't reprise his sheriff role, too bad. So, what follows is more Critter squishing/blasting, Brad finding romance, the faceless Lee constantly changing his appearance(one of them a hot Playboy centerfold), lame attempts at cutesy Critters humor, and that gigantic Critters ball that rolls over everything in it's path. This one was directed by Masters Of Horror creator Mick Garris, and hopefully isn't the film that gives him that "Master" qualification. Critters 2 isn't a failure. Like Halloween 2, it's about as good as it could be considering it's pretty much telling the same story. Kinda gruesome for a PG-13 too, but then again most of these films were. While not fantastic, it's a fun slice of schlocky nonsense and makes for a good double feature with the first film coz they do go together nicely.

5 out of 5 stars The infestation of grovers bend.......2007-02-22

This movie is the action packed to the orginal movie. As the movie s it's been two years since the last incident. The krites thought to be exterminated are still on earth. Somehow one of the krites in the previous movie was some how was pregnant was able to lay eggs. Bradly brown returns after being abscent for 2 years. Shortly after he arrives the city is infested with literally thousand of krites. It's up to brad Charlie and his bounty hunter buddies ug and lee to clean up the town old fashion way. Will they succed or will groves been be tuned into a ghost town over run by the alien meance. If you like this I also recomend Critters one. There are actually four of these but 3 and four were only half as good as the first 2 were.

3 out of 5 stars Critters 2: The Main Course.......2006-01-01

Director: Mick Garris
Cast: Scott Grimes, Terrence Mann, Don Keith Opper, Cynthia Garris, Al Stevenson, Tom Hodges, Douglas Rowe, Liane Alexandria Curtis, Lindsay Parker, Herta Ware.
Running Time: 93 minutes
Rated PG-13 for lots of critter violence, gore, language, and nudity.

The two alien bounty hunters from the original "Critters", Ug (the returning Terrence Mann) who still has the physical appearance of the rock star Johnny Steele while his partner Lee (Gregory Patrick) is still a 'nothing-face' & Charlie (the returning Don Keith Opper as Don Opper) who left Earth with them at the end of the original Critters is now a bounty hunter as well, are reintroduced to the viewer. After having successfully captured their latest bounty the threesome receive a message stating that residual Crite life remains on Earth & that they're payment is being withheld until all trace of the Crites on Earth have been destroyed, the three immediately head for Earth. It's been two years since the Crites tried to eat their way through the small American town of Grovers Bend & Bradley Brown (the returning Scott Grimes) is back in town to visit his Grandmother (Herta Ware) just as a local teenager named Wesley (Tom Hopges) finds some unhatched Critter eggs in the now abandoned Brown barn & sells them to an antiques dealer called Quigley (Douglas Rowe) who in turn sells them as Easter eggs. Predictably enough the Critter eggs begin to hatch & the little bloodthirsty hairballs start to eat their way through Grovers Bend. Only Brad & his reporter friend Megan (Liane Alexandra Curtis) know the truth, together with ex-Sheriff Harv (Barry Corbin) & the three bounty hunters they must convince the townspeople about the Crite's & wipe them out before it's too late.

Co-written and directed by Mick Garris, "Critters 2: The Main Course" is very similar to the original, it's almost as if the filmmakers said to themselves 'why fix it if it ain't broke?' The script by Garris & David Twohy as D.T. Twohy will seem very familiar to anyone who's seen the original. The comedy elements in "Critters 2: The Main Course" become distracting and feel a little out of place at times, when a Critter bumps it's head we hear birds chirping on the soundtrack, or when a Critter has the hair on top of it's head shot off it looks at itself in a reflective surface and says 'b*tchin' or when Lee turns into a topless model (Roxanne Kernohan) from a Playboy magazine complete with a giant staple in her stomach which she pulls out and throws away. There seems to be less straight horror this time around which is a shame, the atmosphere and threat is also missing because of the increased comedy elements. The special effects on the Critters themselves are moderately effective, yet they aren't noticeably any better than the original There is very little in the way of blood or gore, a bitten foot and flesh stripped skeletons and bones is as graphic as "Critters 2: The Main Course" gets, Technically the film is decent, while editing, music, direction, photography and acting certainly aren't going to win any awards. Overall, "Critters 2: The Main Course" is an good time waster especially for those who enjoyed the original, while this is not quite as good. Not a classic by any stretch of the imagination but certainly worth a watch as long as you have reasonable expectations.

4 out of 5 stars The town infestation.......2005-10-25

You thought the first Critters was intense with just 8 krites. The krites come back in the exciting Critters 2. This time they are swarming they have infested the town of Grovers Bend. Bradly brown thought to be encentric returns to town. Charlie now a bounty hunters has finished a hunt. Are informed by the head aline. That the krites are still on Earth. They return detemine to blast the creatures off the face off the earth again.

This has one of the highest death count of the movies next to number 4. Don opper return to grovers been. The bad thing one off the main characters dies near the end of the movie when the krites gain up one him. Will Charile Ug and Lee finnaly wipe out the krites. Find out in the earth shattering conclusion.

2 out of 5 stars Critters 3 (1991).......2005-12-31

Director: Kristine Peterson
Cast: John Calvin, Aimee Brooks, Christian Cousins, Joseph Cousins, William Dennis Hunt, Nina Axelrod, Leonardo DiCaprio, Don Keith Opper.
Running Time: 86 minutes
Rated PG-13 for violence and mild language.

"Critters 3" starts on the open road as Clifford (John Calvin) his teenage daughter Annie (Aimee Brooks) & his young son Johnny are heading back home from a vacation. Suddenly the tyre on their van blows & they have to stop at a public rest area to fix it. While there Annie and Johnny meet a kid named Josh (Leonardo DiCaprio in his Hollywood debut) who in turn all run into Charlie McFadden (the films co-producer Don Keith Opper) from the previous two "Critters" films. Charlie tells them the story of the Krites and the town of Grovers Bend but they don't believe him, meanwhile back at the van a critter lays some eggs on it's underside, out of sight from everyone. Once Clifford has fixed the tyre the trio set off for their home, a run down urban tenement block in Los Angeles somewhere complete with Critter eggs along for the ride. Upon arrival the eggs hatch & the Critters head straight inside the tenement block quickly disposing of Frank (Geoffrey Blake), the caretaker. As the night draws on the few remaining residents, a fat woman named Rosalie (Diana Bellamy), a telephone repair woman Marsha (Katherine Cortez), an elderly couple Mr. (Bill Zuckert) & Mrs. Menges (Frances Bay) must come together with Clifford & his kids to fight the Critters. Josh also makes an appearance as his Stepfather (William Dennis Hunt) owns the building. But will the group be able to defeat the Critters & prevent themselves from becoming dinner?

Let's be honest, no one say to be shocked to discover this is a cheap little film that doesn't have too much going for it. The plot is the usual: people hunted by critters, this time in a building so it's like "Die Hard" with aliens. Sadly the action is poor, it's not really gorym and the critter attacks are always more funny than thrilling. There is no real excitement or tension and it's all a bit predictable The supposed comedy is nowhere near the one it aspires to (Joe Dante's "Gremlins") and really the funniest bit is how silly the whole thing is. Needless to say the acting is poor and some people can't even be mauled convincingly; however, it is interesting to see DiCaprio's debut, even if he looks about 9 years old! Overall, "Critters 3" is a ridiculous bit of dumb fun that is daft and slightly shoddy, not nearly living up to the previous two installments in the series. It may just pass the time but there are much better horror/comedies out there if you want them.

3 out of 5 stars Good but not perfect.......2005-10-25

This one does not have a lot of action in it. A very low death count. Don Opper is a minor characters in this one only appearing at the very begining and very end of the film. Also appearing in this movie in his film debut is a tennage Lenodarno Di Caprio. He has a minor rule also.
Once again the krites apperance has changed. They do not look the same.

This one is more humorous. There is a gag in this similar to in gremlins where the krites our in a dark room but instead of watching Snow White there watching a demonstration on how to prepare chicken.

There are fewer subtitles in this than in the original for the krites. We she a new ability of the krites in this film. When I danger they can let off this loud wobbling cry that is so intense in puitch it can shatter glass. I thought the crystal that glowed when the krites where near by was cool.

I thought the part when charile charges the krite and grabes it and falls of the top of the roof was funny. The part when the krites are tearing up the old couples apartment and scarfying down one there beans. One off the krites chugs down some dish soap. The fire work krite gag was the funnest gag in the movie. If you like this one I recommend the others. If you want lots of action I recommend the first and the second only.

4 out of 5 stars Critters are now under rated beasties........2005-02-25

A little under rated. The critters find they're way into an apartment building, wreck havoc, eat some jerks, attack some people, burp and fart up a storm, raid the kithen, and even oprea sing! Loads of fun, but could of had better actors and the awesome origenal Critters score. Then I'd give it 5/5. The script was pretty goofy too. And whats up with Charlie doing the Tarzan thing? Jeez. Still could have been much worse.

3 out of 5 stars Get rid of the Charlie character........2005-02-15

They really should make another CRITTERS movie. With a proper budget, a good script and a dedicated director one solidly entertaining movie could reenergize the whole franchise and take it to a new level. The most important change that needs to be made is you have to get rid of the goofy Charlie character. He was in all four movies and sucked in all four movies. Also make the movies much darker, without so much story and you've got a hit.

As far a Part 3 goes some Krites invade a small apartment building and chase people all around but only kill two people. It's entertaining, but at the same time disappointing. The story goes nowhere, the direction is strictly by the numbers and of course you got the goofy dude showing up and slowing down the story. There is a lot of wasted potential here.

The one and only reason this movie is in my collection is because this is one of the earliest starring roles for Aimee Brooks, who is now legal and very sexy. If you don't believe me just watch MONSTER MAN.

3 out of 5 stars Could have been better!.......2004-08-09

I thought this was an ok sequel but not as good as the first 2 films. I think there should not have been any more sequels after 2 because it ended really well. This one could have been a little better and the same thing goes for part 4. The only good part of 3 is when they show Charlie, the rest of the movie is kind of boring. I own all 4 of these films on dvd and even recommend this one to add to your collection.

1 out of 5 stars Critters 4 (1992).......2006-01-01

Director: Rupert Harvey
Cast: Don Keith Opper, Terrence Mann, Paul Whitthorne, Anders Hove, Angela Bassett, Brad Dourif, Eric DaRe, Martine Beswick, Anne Ramsay.
Running Time: 100 minutes
Rated PG-13 for violence, language, and gore.

"Critters 4" starts, somewhere in Kansas and replays the last few minutes of "Critters 3" (1991) as the recurring character of Charlie McFadden (Don Keith Opper) is about to shoot the last two remaining Critter eggs in the universe which, we are informed, would mean the extinction of the entire Critter race which is against some sort of intergalactic zoological law or something like that. Charlie's bounty hunter friend Ug (Terrence Mann) is now known as Counsellor Tetra and is a top ranking official at the intergalactic council and orders Charlie not to shoot the eggs but instead put them into a pod that will land nearby very soon. The pod does indeed land nearby very quickly & Charlie does indeed put the eggs into it but he is also caught in the pod which I presume cryogenic-ally freezes him as it's never really explained. "Critters 4" then informs us that we are 'Somewhere in Saturn Quadrant 2045' where a salvage ship comes across the pod drifting in space. Rick (Anders Hove) decides to claim the unidentified, to them anyway, pod and try to make a bit of cash out of it. With the help of his crew, Ethan (Paul Whitthorne), Fran (Angela Bassett), Al Bert (Brad Dourif) and Bernie (Eric DeRe), the pod is successfully recovered. They get in touch with the intergalactic council and Counsellor Tetra say to go to an abandoned space-station where a trade will be made for the pod and its contents, Tetra also specifically tells Rick not to open the pod. So in true horror film tradition Rick opens the pod, thaws Charlie out and the Critter eggs which hatch, kill Rick and escape into the space-station.

Co-produced & directed by Rupert Harvey, "Critters 4" is a pretty useless film and rounds the Critter series of films off with a whimper rather than a bang. The script by Joseph Lyle and David J. Schow is both predictable & clichéd, the space-station with an unstable reactor that will blow up in a few hours, the protagonists only means of escape being neutralised early on so they are stuck, the race against time to save themselves, the constant bickering & arguing amongst the crew, people splitting up and the loser who turns into a hero & saves the day, yawn. A lot of plot devices seem to come straight from "Aliens" and it rips off "Star Wars" with a tacky waste compactor scene. The characters are no better and you probably won't give a damn about any of them. While the other "Critters" films could be described as comedy horrors part 4 cannot, it appears to be deadly serious throughout, making it incredibly slow, uneventful and dull. The looks cheap throughout with bland, dark unimaginative sets and it even steals footage from "Android" for it's ships and space scenes; "Critters 4" was apparently so low budget that the filmmakers couldn't afford any optical effects & the ones it takes from "Android" look seriously dated. The acting is pretty poor as well with Angela Bassett's over-the-top melodramatic reaction to seeing a few Critter eggs particularly cringe worthy. To look at "Critters 4" it is as cheap and unspectacular a production as you could hope to (not) see.

3 out of 5 stars Ok, I was a little harsh last time........2004-12-19

Yeah, I'm doing another review for Critters4. It wasen't that bad, but I still think the idea of the krites(the little monsters) in outer space is a little goofy.

2 out of 5 stars I hope the rest of the Critters movies aren't this bad........2004-11-14

This was the first Critters movie I ever saw, and I'm dissapointed. 53 years after Critters3, the Krites end up in outer space and wreck havoc there. The best parts are the rare cheap jokes that aren't even funny, but slightly better then the rest of the movie. The Krites in this one just look more silly then the Krites in the 1st 3 movies, I bet, because they had bald heads! MAXIMUM SILLYNESS!!!!!!!

3 out of 5 stars Good sequel, bad ending!.......2004-08-09

I thought this was a good sequel but it raised a big question. Why did Charlie's friend Ug become bad? I didn't get that part and didn't like the idea because he was good in the first 2 films. The first film is my favorite, the second was very good and the third was ok but could have been better. I have all of these movies on dvd and if anybody's a fan of the Critters films like I am, these movies are a good part of your dvd collection.

3 out of 5 stars The Final film.......2004-04-20

This unfortunately was the last critters film. The should not have stopped. Sure it was the second worest of the three. Okay movie.

Charlie is a major character but very little action. To make thing worse UG is now evil. Apparently something change Ug he does not want to wipe out all the Crites. Cheezy parts UG Sholud have been like 70 in 2040 but he's only looks like 30.

Charlie is order buy Ug to put to the two remain eyes in a pods. Charlie get locked in the pod accidently. He is adjected into space he is inside there for 49 years. After the pod is collected by a salavage crew.

After there greed leader blast open the pods charlie is free. Unforunately the Crite eggs have hatched. Is weird is the Crites were in with Charlie and did not hurt him.

The Crites get loose on the space station and the killing begins over again. This movie is also a spoff of Closous there is a computer that talks named Adrina whos central logic is only at 50% . That pluse there is one part about 15 minuted into the movie there is and reactment of the trash compactor scence form episode 4 of starwars but is only half as good. When Charlie almost get sucked into space.

I thought UG gooing bad as well as the lack of action and no Bradly brown spoiled the movie that pluse having charlie kill ug. I thought have the krites be a radioactive bio weapon was interesting. If you will like this i Recomen seeing Critters 1 3 and 2 as well a s Gremlin the movie that inspired Critters.

4 out of 5 stars Popcorn Sci-Fi Fun.......2007-06-27

Ah... the joys of pulp-science fiction. To experience the kind of stories more often found in old comic books come on the big screen can be confusing to some, but not this comic book fan. Spacehunter, along with movies like Star Wars and Flash Gordon, uses a tried and true model reminiscent of the classic Saturday morning serials. In spite of it's B-rated budget and content Spacehunter still comes out a winner.

You can see the main influences come from the post apocalyptic genre of movies like The Road Warrior, but the space opera genre is still strong with dastardly villians, brave heroes, damsels in distress, and all that. Add a sprinkle of adventure and you pretty much get the recipe of Spacehunter.

In a single word, Spacehunter is fun. The content is light and not thought provoking, but at the same time not overly simplified. You will catch some lame terminologies like 'mega space credits' and some of the spaceships look like they were made from styrofoam, but at least those shortcomings are few. Special effects work well enough and compliment the story instead of detracting from it. The props and technology range from "what?" to "cool". Gun props aren't overdone with odd accessories and the attachments they do use work well with the pace of the movie. I particularly enjoyed that mini missile launcher. Vehicles are kinda neat, and most of them are smart designs. Gotta love Wolfe's Scrambler.

The acting from the main characters is what sets this B-movie apart from most. Every one of them gave subtle and believable performances that were a very pleasant difference from most B-list science fictions. Molly Ringwald does a great job in her big screen debut as the lovable yet bratty Nikki. Peter Strauss does the standard Saturday matinee hero with style, and the hero/sidekick chemistry between Strauss and Ringwald was a treat to behold. Like I said, pretty much the entire main cast of characters made the movie as good as it is.

The DVD itself pretty much gives you the movie and that's about it. No special features or dynamic dolby audio. Just the movie and some scene selections. So keep that in mind when deciding to drop some coin on owning a copy.

I recommend Spacehunter for anybody who wants a good popcorn sci-fi flick that's not too violent or vulgar, but still wrought with low budget entertainment. Keep in mind it was made as a 3-D movie so some takes were made to fly off the screen, but of course won't. This movie is not meant to be taken seriously. If you're the type of person who can love a movie that's light on serious sci-fi content but chunky on the fun give Spacehunter a shot.

4 out of 5 stars Great adventure.......2007-05-30

This is a good old fashioned adventure, with some comedy and good natured suspense. We remember it from when it was released, but my 8 year old grandaughter loved it - she watched it twice! We are a little disappointed in the quality of the DVD; it does seem quite grainy and not much better picture that the VHS.

4 out of 5 stars not for all taste, but i really liked it.......2006-06-27

ok,so this isn't the best sci-fi movie ever but it really is fun,if you can get into it. this adventure looks like a cross between "road warrior" and "alien" as it tells the story of a bounty hunter wolfe(peter strauss, tring hard but just not han solo) landing on a planet ravaged by plage to rescue three ladies who crashed there and are being held hostage by the strangest villian ever overdog(michael ironside(looking like a borg and being a grade a ham)! young molly ringwald is on hand as is ernie hudson to help strauss get the girls back.slow in places and some really strange encounters with the planets other citizens make it a mixed bag,but as i said if you can get into the spirit of fun you may find that you like this one also! give it a try!

2 out of 5 stars It is pretty bad, even for a B movie.......2006-04-16

This movie is so bad that it is almost fun, not quite but almost. The movie is about a down on his luck adventurer/bounty hunter named Wolff (Peter Strauss) who must find three beauties who have been stranded on a planet and captured by some weirdo named Overdog (Michael Ironside). Along the way Wolff meets up with Nikki (Molly Ringwald) who is a local urchin who agrees to help him for food. I won't bore you with anymore about the plot, because there isn't any more.

This movie should of been a career killer to everyone involved so I'm guessing that Ringwald already had signed the contract for Sixteen Candles and well, Peter Strauss' career is what it is. In the end I would pass on this film unless you have a desire to see what Molly Ringwald did before she was a famous or unless you are a lover of really bad B movies. Why this never showed up on MST 3000 I will never know.

4 out of 5 stars Great Sci-fi classic.......2005-10-23

This is agreat sci-fi movie, anyone who likes the movies more into the "Mad Max" scenerio will love this. Given the year it was made the special effects are not bad, the plot is simple, lots of action, heroics and almost cheesy hero music.

You can't expect a sci-fi flick to be a masterpiece of cinema world, its for entertaiment. You have 3 maidents with huge 80's hair do's who need rescuing. We have a lone star hero is in debt and will rescue the maidents for the reward. Some interfernace from the maniacal evil scientist turned life sucking cyborg. AND the cuttest chick Molly Ringwald! Her character actually develops through the movie from an screaming brat to something more serious ( could show more skin though).

This movie has the perfect post apocaliptic feel, with kinda William Gibson theme. You have trains with viking sails, lasers, steam powered plows, spaceships that burry underground, mutants, zombie like creatures, cyborgs, amazons and lots of action.

The movie kept me plastered to the screen for the whole movie and I will watch it again and again. A definate must see/have for anyone who likes science fiction movies.

Did someone say Dracula II? Like there haven't been a few hundred Dracula movies already? Oh well: Dracula II: Ascension is a sequel to Dracula 2000, with the ageless vampire again returning from apparent extinction. The twist is that Dracula's blood will be used by a researcher (baroque performance by Craig Sheffer) to reverse the effects of a crippling disease; Sheffer's assistants (read: vampire fodder) will help. Joining this scientific survey is long-haired vampire slayer Jason Scott Lee, who seems to have stalked in from another picture--but never mind Roy Scheider, whose wizened priest might be onscreen for all of 60 seconds. After a reasonably lively opening half-hour, this cheapie devolves into the usual blood-letting and illogical behavior. Some of the vampire lore is pretty diverting (did you know a vampire must untie every knot he sees?), but Dracula II is strictly for enthusiasts of the genre. --Robert Horton

3 out of 5 stars So so sequel, Good direct to DVD.......2007-02-11

I loved Dracula 2000. Not that the director was breaking any new ground but he understood the erotic nature and cruptiontion of the "Soul" that Vampirisim represented. On that foundation I was looking forward to the film and it took a dogs age for it to be released and the third took even longer.
I had to ignore the fact that in the theatrical leg of this trillogy Dracula was taken back to England by Mary Van Helseig. I was thinking that would be the likly jumping off point for the next leg but this is not the case. The Corpse of Dracula is retrieved by the police and taken to the New Orleans Mourge where Elizabeth is working. Dark shadows of future evil and mystery present themselves almost from that point on.
She is wounded by one of the lifeless Counts Cannine teeth while examining and don't think this will not mean something down the line. It was a good device for this film that was almost entirly pushed asside in the second but it is used for great affect in the second. Watching Elizabeth slowly change over the corse of the film is one of the more erotic parts of the DVD.
Toss in her friends including a boyfriend dying of a devilitating illness along with the promise of a multi million dollar reward and the problems that come to a rise when a group of inexperianced science types trying to uncover the mysteries of this Corpse and how a bath in human blood brind it back to life and you have have set the stage for mass distruction and some real gross out moments.
Jason Scott Lee is the Vatican Vampire hunter who dispaches twin Vamp sisters in the opening and is hot on the trail of Dracula in all his forms and he and Dracula have a bloody and Metaphysical discussion to end the DVD.
There are familiuar actors in this film such as Dianne Neil from "Law and Order SVU" and a breif cameo from Roy Schider from "Jaws" and "Marathon Man" to name a few. I would not expect a super great film but I didn't feel like I blew my cash on this DVD and that is a good thing.

4 out of 5 stars good sequel.......2006-12-13

This first sequel to the fun Dracula 2000 is quite enjoyable. Sequels often fail to live up to the original, but Part 2 is interesting and entertaining. I liked it. 4 out of 5 stars!

2 out of 5 stars Better than Dracula 3000.......2006-02-15

Dracula 2 Ascension although not breaking any new ground is an entertaining enough vampire flick.
Jason Scott Lee played a cool enough vampire hunter, but his character just doesn't make any sense, are we supposed to believe that he just happens to show up at the tail end of events from "Dracula 1"?
And please, no human being alive no matter what the reason or rationale would attempt to revive what they believe to be a "dead" vampire. Yeah sure, dropping the crispy count into the vat of blood was a good idea, but really, you don't try to revive a vampire under any circumstances, sorry, but that's just not credible.

5 out of 5 stars best to watch all three.......2006-02-03

I recently watched all three of these movies (Dracula 2000, Dracula II, Dracula III: Legacy) and liked them all very much.
I'm not sure that II and III can be completely appreciated without seeing the other chapters but they all make for one of the best modern horror movie series.

2 out of 5 stars A pale shadow of its predecessor.......2005-09-23

I saw 'Dracula 2000' (which this movie is the sequel to) and absolutely loved it, so naturally I rushed out to buy this movie, thinking it would be just as good. Boy, was I disappointed! Sadly, this had none of the dramatic tension and unpredictable plot twists of its predecessor. Instead, it was mostly predictable, clicheed and dull. No wonder none of the cast members from the previous movie wanted to sign up to do this one!

To give the cast of this movie credit, they tried hard. Craig Sheffer camped it up nicely as the evil professor, and Jason Scott Lee was impressive in the fight scenes. But given the script they had to work with, it was clearly an uphill battle. There were a few surprises in the script (like bringing up some little known but interesting facts about vampire folklore) but for the most part it was predictable and formulaic, right down to the location where it was filmed--I mean, it was set in an old, deserted gothic mansion. You don't get more clicheed than that in a vampire movie, unless it's actually shot in Transylvania!

I don't think I'll be bothering with seeing the sequel to this movie, the third in the series. My guess is that it'll be worthy of a 'straight to video' tag.
