Description

On December 13th, 2002 Florida fight fans welcomed the first ever "No-Holds-Barred" event sanctioned in the state.

Competitors from Brazil, Finland, Canada and the USA battled in 12 incredible fights! By the end of the night, everyone knew why Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport in the world.

Witness the return of legends Marcus "Conan" Silveira (former Extreme Fighting heavyweight champion) and Matt Hume (veteran of Extreme Fighting and Pancrase); as well as legends in the making, such as Aaron Riley, Hermes Franca, Sean "Pain" Peters and Wes Sims (of the Hammer House). DVD also features behind the scenes footage and trailers. This is the best Fightworld production yet!

Hook 'n' Shoot's first event was nothing groundbreaking...as this DVD can attest to. The match-ups were nothing special. There wasn't a lot of great groundwork or knockouts. The biggest fighters you will see here are Wes Sims, Hermes Franca, and the comeback match of Matt Hume.

There is two big problems here: #1--when the match goes to the ground, the match will jump forward to when the fighters either stand up or go to a submission. This is very annoying if you want to see the entire fight. And #2--the camera work is horrible. When the action cuts to another camera, the perspective is completely opposite and will confuse you for a moment. If it were once or twice, it would be fine. But when this happens repeatedly it makes you want to snap the DVD in half.

All in all, this was a pretty average event. There weren't really any amazing fights, not really even any good fights. I'd only recommend this if you are a big-time MMA fan or if you're a hardcore fan of any of the fighters mentioned earlier.
