#1 Anime Show.......2005-11-25

I've seen alot of anime show but this one by far is the best one out there. I was out of my seet most of the time. I would defenetly recomend it to anyone who likes action, fantasy, comedy, drama, or even romance. The graphics are really good and its hard to find an anime show w/ it so hurry up and get it. But you should probably read the books first though.

And The Search For Joshua Continues...........2005-05-16

Brought to us from Gonzo Studio (Full Metal Panic, etc.), they bring the much loved manga series "Chrono Crusade" by Daisuke Moriyama, to life. While the anime series is not exactly like the manga itself, I believe that Gonzo is doing a good job so far with the series.

Reaching the climatic ending of the series, Rosette, Chrono and Azmaria begin their journey to San Fransisco to search for Joshua Christopher. Along the way, many things and plot twists come to pass, making the story even more twisting to the viewers mind.

The relationship between Rosette and Chrono deepens over the mighty night time view of San Fransisco and we also learn more of Stella, the jewel witch, and of her scared past. Aion, as always, makes appearances and reveals more about his plot to destroy the world.

Though this anime is not well seen by some of Moriyama's fans, I believe Gonzo has done a very good job capturing the world of Chrono Crusade. Presenting the characters we know and love from the manga, Gonzo has brought the humor we have come to know them for. The indepth story of the battle between hell, heaven, and earth is presented in such an intense fashion. Also, the anime is drawn with quality and time.

Any anime fan should give this series a try! Good work Gonzo, looking foreword to volume 6!

A frail and melodramatic plot can be set aside by the viewer during this early sound film, while enjoying the rather incongruous musical interludes which occur in sporadic fashion. Edmund Burns is featured in the role of Richard Charters, an innocent but convicted man who escapes from a penitentiary and makes his way to the local waterfront, where he stows away upon a treasure hunting crew's sailing vessel schooner. Since he is soon discovered and half the crew is mutinous, complications rapidly occur, generally involving the ship captain's daughter Ann, played by a sturdy Molly O'Day, and her pet monkey. Although one must take this lightweight work in the spirit with which it is made, there are enjoyable moments, in particular those which include craggy-faced Walter Long, the ship's first mate and villain of the piece.

Pleasant li'l B-Movie.......2004-11-15

A pre-war South Sea Island is policed by a legion of ex-servicemen who were stationed there and returned to live after their stints were up. The girls are beautiful, the weather is gorgeous (or vice versa) and the only trouble is from a local gangster. Well, and some of the ex-GIs raise a little hell themselves from time to time.

Enter our heroes, "Slats" (Dick Purcell) and "Horseshoe" (Larry Blake). Ex-pilots and once fast friends, they've become rivals for the hand of the same woman (Mamo Clark of MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY). They take turns playing horrific pranks and getting each other busted down from Sergeant to Private. When the General's girlfriend (Minerva Urecal at her most annoying) shows up, much to the General's dismay, they take turns foisting her on each other to babysit. Oh, and the aforementioned gangster (see previous paragraph) has some ideas of his own for our brave men in khaki.

A tidy little B-movie from Universal, AIR DEVILS was directed by John Rawlins. Rawlins, who like many B-level directors worked his way up from the editing room, had a long but not especially distinguished career, unless you consider Dead End Kids serials and DICK TRACY MEETS GRUESOME to be distinguished.

This movie isn't very distinguished either, except for one scene that's a gem and worth watching the whole movie to see: Slats and Horseshoe step into an alley behind a dance hall to "settle this once and for all," but before a punch can be thrown, the MPs descend on `em. Well, there's a strict new rule against fighting, and so our boys quickly tell the MPs that they were just practicing a new dance from the states, called "the Big Apple". The MPs demand to see the new dance, and so Mr. Purcell and Mr. Blake are reluctantly forced to jitterbug together to the grand amusement of the constabulary. The scene is hilarious, and worth the five bucks or so you'll pay for the Alpha DVD.

Speaking of Alpha, when you review their product, everybody wants to know how bad the quality is. Well, in this case, it's actually quite good.

AIR DEVILS is not a film I'll watch very much over the years, but I sure got a kick out of watching the dance scene, and I'm recommending it for that.
