2 out of 5 stars Nearly unlistenable.......2007-05-30

I had great hope for this DVD based on its description and the generally positive reviews. But wow, what a disappointment due to the poor audio. I could only make it through about 3 songs, then I just had to turn it off, the sound was bad, bad. Unfortunate as the show itself looked promising, I just couldn't listen to it. I tinkered a bit, double-checking my system, and trying all of the audio options on the DVD. I found that the 5.1 mix and the stereo mix were nearly the same, as the 5.1 mix did not use the center channel at all, and barely used the surrounds & LFE. Seriously, without looking to see which was playing, you wouldn't be able to tell the two apart. Even worse though, is that the sound that did come out was poor. As in tinny, compressed, lifeless. I don't know if I've described it right, all I know is that I had to turn it off.

5 out of 5 stars Styx review.......2007-05-20

Classic Styx, revisited. Great performance, with alot of the old classic tunes. Performance is great, and even emotional with the tribute to John.
His brother looks a little stiff on base, but the music rules.

This is well worth the purchase for any Styx fan. Lots of energy and variety of performance. New drummer is very good. Added features are interesting too.

5 out of 5 stars Styx concert.......2007-04-10

Styx still ROCK!!! This is a great concert, a must have for all Styx fans.

4 out of 5 stars Styx Rocks.......2007-03-25

This is a great "modern era" Styx concert. It has all the original memebers except for the drummer who passed away. They still do a great rock show with a "theatrical flair". The only negative was the lack of sound from the center channel speaker. The surround is not true Dolby 5.1, still sounds pretty good though.

For Styx fans, the opportunity to see the band perform with a symphony orchestra is da bomb; for others, it may simply be da bombast. Either way, One With Everything is a spectacle. Of course, the Styx who ruled the AOR airwaves in their '70s-'80s heyday, followed by their ascension to Classic Rock status, has been through some changes in the last several years. In the absence of Dennis DeYoung (which means we are mercifully spared DeYoung-penned hits like "Come Sail Away" and the cloying "Babe"), singer-guitarists Tommy Shaw and James Young have moved up front. Yet the more things change, the more they stay the same, and Styx remains what it always was: a facile, journeyman band, capable of writing some good rock songs ("Blue Collar Man," "Too Much Time on My Hands," "Fooling Yourself"), with a sound that's distinctive but, in the long run, not especially interesting. Still, there's no denying the sheer joy and energy that permeates this May, 2006 concert, both onstage and in the audience. Much of that is due to the presence of the Contemporary Youth Orchestra of Cleveland, an enormous ensemble (115 players and 56 singers) comprised entirely of teenagers. Under the direction of Liza Grossman, these kids are having a blast, and their enthusiasm is infectious, as Shaw, Young, and the other Styx-ters (original bassist Chuck Panozzo sits in on a few tunes) are clearly giving it their all. In fact, it's almost too much; there's a certain shrillness to the group's screeching lead vocals and super-high harmonies that ends up being both exhausting and slightly discomfiting. Not that this will matter to the band's adherents, who should be delighted by a show that's well over two hours long and includes covers of Willie Dixon's "It Don't Make Sense (You Can't Make Peace)," the Beatles "I Am The Walrus," and Ashford and Simpson's "I Don't Need No Doctor" in addition to Styx's own material. Bonus features include a couple of new Christmas songs, interviews, and more. --Sam Graham

5 out of 5 stars looked like they were having fun!.......2007-09-02

entertaining performance. If you're a Styx fan this is a must have. The band has great inter-play with the orchestra. Very fun to watch. Only downside is that they didn't play all of their old hits with the absence of Dennis DeYoung, their former keyboardist, and singer...though it seems they could have.

4 out of 5 stars Kids playing with Styx.......2007-08-06

First saw this on HD TV. Searched for the DVD, and found it on Amazon. Fun to watch and great music. Uniquely choreographed, live, Styx plays along with the Youth Orchestra and they all look like they are having fun. Would recommend this to a Styx fan.

5 out of 5 stars Great concert on hdtv!.......2007-08-06

I'm not a music enthusiast who can pick every last piece apart, but this is terrific. We saw it on HDPBS and I had to find it to purchase. What energy! The youth orchestra in the background is amazing, too. I can't wait to see the whole thing once we get it in the mail. Great item to have in your video library.

2 out of 5 stars Why not the old Styx?.......2007-07-11

If you're a die hard new Styx fan just skip this review. I am going to post my opinion anyway. I have not purchased this product, but I may possibly do so in the future. I have seen this performance on tv, and I will say it was an impressive performance from everyone, but to me the new Styx does not live up to the old Styx. The orchestra were amazing for their age, and the GREAT Chuck Panozzo once again makes a Cameo for a few songs towards the end. I will speak as to why I have not bought this DVD. Todd Sucherman is a fantastic drummer, excellent technique, hard worker, way better than most drummers (myself included) out here today, but he is no John Panozzo! I will say it again, Todd is no John! Todd may play more notes than what John did, but does that make him better! NO Panozzo played his heart out on every Styx albulm, that is why in my opinion Styx were so sucsessful along with Dennis Deyoung's vocals and songwriting. Alot of musicians today about 98% (to be exact) "work hard" as opposed "putting their hearts into it", to me this a prime example, and goes to show that this is a different era than the 70s and 80s. Todds performance on this DVD is very good, but not great! I think he's doing a good job filling Panozzo's shoes, I think Styx could have looked a little harder when John was ill, however record companys can also have influenced this decision as well (as they most do). To me this is the perfect tribute to the real Styx, only a shadow of the REAL STYX, but all in all a very good performance. The Styx of the old created ART, the New Styx just work hard at their job.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Concert.......2007-05-14

Even if you are not a Styx fan you will enjoy this concert! The Contempary Youth Orchestra and Styx put on a performance that you will enjoy again and again. It will give you goose bumps!!

5 out of 5 stars WOW my two favorite bands coming together at one concert.......2006-10-30

I know it isn't the same withou Dennis DeYoung or Gary Richrath but still this is great. You have my favorite band Styx performing with my second favorite band REO Speedwagon. Just think about that for a minute. Two of the greatest bands of all-time playing together in one fun-filled concert. This is good stuff. They play some great songs and they still sound great. That is a testament to how good these guys really are. I mean these guys don't even have their best group and they are still better than every band in the modern mainstream music scene. You can't beat talent and creativity you just can't. Anyway this is a great live album and DVD highly recommended, 6 stars, buy it today.

5 out of 5 stars Just as Good Now as Back Then .......2005-12-11

We just love this concert and it brings us back to the days when were young, partying rockers having fun in the 70s. Stxy and REO never skip a beat or fall down on the music through this whole concert. They play as if it was yesterday. This DVD is the result of an ingenius idea to bring two top bands into one musical work of rockNroll art. The quality of the recording and music is awesome. All the originals of the bands still kick it up! The Canadian keyboarder for Styx really livens up the stage. REO's renown jump from one song to the next really kicks it into gear with Nugie guitarist Dave Amato. Add this to your Xmas list.

3 out of 5 stars Arch Allies.......2005-08-29

Loved all the STYX songs but sorry only Dennis can do "Lady" justice. REO's Kevin had a different vocal sound on this DVD. Not as good as the concerts that I have attended in the past few years.

All in all a good mix of each band's hits.

1 out of 5 stars Key members gone = Tribute bands at best..........2005-07-07

Sorry, but you can't have Styx without Dennis DeYoung nor REO Speedwagon without Gary Richrath... 'Nuff said!!!

5 out of 5 stars The Rockin' Allies are still at it, together!.......2004-10-26

Any fan of Styx and REO should know, these great bands have toured together for a couple of decades. They alternate being the opening act. My wife and I caught them a couple of years ago. REO opened at an outside fair grounds and Styx followed. Just a few minutes into Styx set, a storm blew in and the sound board was "toast". They tried to complete the show, but mother nature wasn't going to allow it. They tried to let the show go on by using the stage monitors and acoustic guitars. Luckily, we were in the front row and could hear them, but no one in the bleachers heard a sound and the band finally conceded that the concert was over.

This is a very good concert, but I felt like they should have made this program a two DVD set, so more of each bands material could have been added. My biggest regret is that Styx didn't get Crystal Ball included. Again, other than not covering more songs, this is a fun DVD to add to your collection.

5 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL film!.......2007-09-07

I LOVE this film to pieces!! I've watched it over and over and am so grateful that there is a commentary track. It's one of my favorite films in the world- haunting, strong, sincere performances by each of the children and adults in this movie. It really stayed with me the first time I saw it a few years ago- each time I see it I keep discovering all of these wonderful, subtle little things that Karen Young (my GOD!), Noah Fleiss, Max Ligosh, Val Kilmer, and everyone else does that I've missed- brilliant, overwhelmingly beautiful score thoughtfully placed through out. Lovely cinematography and lighting- just a pleasure to watch on all levels, really. And thank GOD for the writing- it's so realistic and not at all showy or false like 99.9% of film writing IS- that it goes entirely unnoticed and underappreciated until you actually take the time to remember that it all has actually been WRITTEN several viewings later. So much of why I like this film I don't know that there are even words for.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant.......2007-02-24

This is one of those little movies that probably had a limited release and was probably seen mostly by people who frequent film festivals. It is a real find because if you watch it, your immediate conclusion will be: an excellent piece of cinema. The film's message is your a product of your environment and background. Joe is not a great kid but your sympathy will lie with him by the end of this film. The question you will ask is does this boy have a chance in life with the deck of cards he has been dealt with. My question is why is Frank Whalley not making any more films? Val Kilmer has never been better but most people probably don't even know he made this little gem. I thought it was competently and fluidly directed, written and acted. Its a low budget roots are evident but that actually adds to its appeal because its a film about real people in realistc situations. It is the type of film that is made in Europe. This film has a lot of merit and needs to be seen and appreciated.

5 out of 5 stars Joe the King - Fantastic.......2005-08-03

I work with kids who come from similiar backgrounds. This film is right on. The actors gave award winning performances, the story is heart wrenching and very believable. If you are a Val Kilmer fan, you'll love his supporting role!

3 out of 5 stars King of the Hill.......2004-02-11

This interesting independent movie directed by Frank Whalley is a worthwile and engaging coming of age story about Joe, a teenage boy (played by the unknown and excellent Noah Fleiss), who doesn`t seem to find his place in school, neighborhood and family. It doesn`t help that he has an abusive drunk father and a mother too busy to care, who let him constantly on his own and forcing him to make some (bad) choices.
This could have turned into a predictable, by-the-numbers tearjerker but thankfully the director tries to develop a deep and dry story, realistic and honest enough. The last scenes with Joe and his father are actually quite well-done, never becoming too sappy although they make for some moving and powerful moments.
Not a stellar picture, but it`s done with care and talent in all levels, turning it into an above average effort and a good directing debut for Whalley. There`s even some acting contributions by indie-stars like Ethan Hawke, John Leguizamo or Val Kilmer in supporting roles. Recommended.

5 out of 5 stars tragic.......2003-10-26

I have seen this movie more than once, and always has left me feeling really sad.I think it was very well done. Gritty and tense, down to the home haircuts. Joe is a hero,in a losing battle for survival.I could not help but think of all the children, who are in this same situation now. Suffering in silence. Joe the King is an excellent movie about alcohol abuse,
and the devastation it leaves in its wake.I do'nt recommend this movie for children.

5 out of 5 stars The Second Episode Of Lone Wolf And Cub: Non-Stop Action!.......2007-01-03

This second episode of "Lone Wolf And Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx" is an enjoyable continuation of the six-part series starring Tomisaburo Wakayama. This series, known for its over-the-top gore and violence will not disappoint those looking for action in their samurai/ninja flicks. This one definitely delivers. Ogami (Tomisaburo Wakayama) the former shogun assassin in the first episode is now a ronin [masterless samurai]. But that doesn't stop this former samurai and his infant son [wheeled in a baby cart] from causing mayhem as they traverse the Chinese countryside. Now that the first episode has given a background as to why Ogami is in the predictament he and his son find themselves in, the real action begins.

Moreover, hot on their heels is the ever present assassins of the Yagyu clan. The action scenes in the second episode are great, and the cinematography is very good. Futhermore, after reviewing these episodes again recently, I would have to write that I don't think any other character could have played the role of Ogami other than (Tomisaburo Wakayama). His stoic attitude and calm menacing demeanor just seems to fit his character. Although I never read the comics that the series was culled from, I don't really think you need to, as the film's are a terrific watch. [Whether or not they go by the comic's I could not say]. Nevertheless, they are a fun and exciting watch. All the episodes are worth owning, and I highly recommend the series to everyone.

5 out of 5 stars That Cub is dangerous........2006-11-21

The second movie is as good as the first. Female ninja, a traitor who plans to sell out his clan and the three Gods of Death make this a great film. Lots of spraying blood, flashing swords, drama, screaming, humor and plotting. And Cub is dangerous. He takes out one of the female ninja and even slices the feet off a couple of assassins of the Yagyu clan. Baby Cart at the River Styx is a perfect sequel. Makes you feel good all over. A family film.

5 out of 5 stars I am the assassin, lone wolf and cub, at your service!.......2006-07-20

Now that they got the plot out of the way in the first movie, it is time for some serious blood spilling. This one kicks right off with 2 people running at Ogami and then of course getting sliced up in dramatic fashion. While the story line is very good, it all about the killing in this one. I like the first mvoie a little better, but only because of the extremely engaging story and superb acting. Though this film didn't come close to matching the first film in these 2 areas, I am willing to let that go and name this one of the greatest action movies ever, EASILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I don't want to give anything away, but it is nonstop action. The gods of death are certainly some of the coolest characters ever, and 1 in particular. And also some very touching moments with father and son and what happens when Ogami has been injured and the cub is on his own? Will he survive?

Now I have the red sun distributed version of this. It is absolutely amazing. Perfectly letterboxed with crystal clear sound and picture. The liner notes just like the first movie are very helpful in understanding "koku" and also on Ogami's amazing journey. These liner notes I have to say are one of the better special features I have ever seen.

5 out of 5 stars One of the top action films.........2005-09-27

This is the second Lone Wolf and Cub film in the series and is probably the best. This is a great film. Most of the the great fight scenes in the other film, "Shogun Assasin", were derived from this movie.

This movie is very bloody at times, body parts get sliced off and blood sprays everywhere, so its not for kids but I highly recommend the Lone Wolf and Cub films for any action loving adults.

5 out of 5 stars Best of series.......2005-03-08

This is probably the best in the series, the level of
violence and nudity is somewhat toned down vs. the book and the resulting screenplay is more realistic.

The note about 'Shogun Assasin': I didn't realize it before, but
Shogun Assasin is basically a compilation of the first movie
(Sword on Vengeance) and this one. The story line a slightly
different and it is narrated by Daigoro.

If you have a choice, see the full version and see it on DVD.
I was amazed at the quality of the DVD release, the bonus material, while not extensive, is quite interesting as it includes the liner notes and various trailers.

1 out of 5 stars No way........2006-12-15

Let's see.

It's a Styx video compilation that has neither the ultra-rare "Haven't We Been Here Before" nor the ultra-hilarious "Heavy Metal Poisioning".

I. Don't. THINK. So.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Styx on Video.......2006-10-17

These videos are of varying quality, and reflect various periods in the history of what many consider the Classic Styx era. (That is, when their central vocalist/songwriter, Dennis DeYoung, was still in the group)
"Come Sail Away" is perhaps the poorest quality of this entire group of videos, but it is interesting to see 1977 era Styx performing what is considered their signature song.
"Boat on the River" is a fun treat. Again, not the best of quality and all these "performance" videos are lip synched to the original recordings.
"Too Much Time on My Hands" was one of the few production type videos Styx ever did, meaning it had parts where the guys were not just onstage performing the song. It is actually a humorous video and lots of little silly bits in it.
"Best of Times" and "Mr. Roboto" were huge hits for Styx. Both DeYoung compositions which featured him heavily. Roboto, of course, is an early MTV classic video. Manic and totally out there visually, musically and lyrically.
"Blue Collar Man" is straight ahead onstage action.
If you are a fan of Styx. This one is a must-have.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Collection of Early Styx Videos.......2006-02-10

Back in the late 70s to early 80s, Styx was one of the most popular rock and roll bands of the time, routinely selling out arenas all across the country. This DVD provides a glimpse back into the heyday of this legendary band with these great early videos.

There are six videos on this DVD: "Blue Collar Man", "Come Sail Away", "Too Much Time on my Hands", "The Best of Times", "Boat on the River", and "Mr. Roboto". Most of these are performance videos, taped during an actual concert. "Too Much Time on my Hands" is a compilation video, containing both concert footage and more traditional-style video filming. I was disappointed that "Come Sail Away" was edited as much as it was. Most of the insturmental parts were deleted. "Mr. Roboto" showed very little footage of the band itself. However, it was a very popular video shown during the early days of MTV. It also lead to Tommy Shaw's departure from the band and the beginning of a lenghtly hiatus for the group. They did not re-emerge on the music scene until 1990 with "Edge of the Century", still minus Tommy Shaw. I thought "Boat on the River" was very good, with Tommy playing the mandolin and Dennis on accordion.

I wish this DVD would have contained a few more videos, such as "Show Me The Way" and Tommy's lost "Haven't We Been Here Before", which was only rarely seen on late-night television. None of these videos features the amount of choreography and acting as today's music videos do, but they are still very good, they sound well in stereo, and they give the viewer a look back at some of Styx' more well-known songs.

I highly recommend this great DVD. It is a must for Styx fans. We can only hope that Universal will put out a follow-up disc that contains more great classic songs. Until then, watch this DVD and enjoy a look back to the glory days of a supergroup.

5 out of 5 stars Styx Music Videos You've Never Seen Before........2004-05-18

Despite Amazon not having the full title or description listed as of yet for some odd reason, this is THE BEST OF STYX: THE DVD COLLECTION. It's collection of Six music videos which are:

1). "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)"

2). "Come Sail Away"

3). "Too Much Time On My Hands"

4). "The Best Of Times"

5). "Boat On The River"

6). "Mr. Roboto"

First of all, Universal should have released STYX's entire music video collection on one DVD, not this small DVD EP collection. Not from a band that's been around for over 30 years and has over 20 music videos, many of which have never even aired in the United States. The first video, "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)" is a big disappointment since this video is straight from the "Caught In The Act" video that was released in 1984. Many fans have this video already so I have no idea why Universal decided to release this again, especially since there's vintage music video for this song from 1978 that has rarely been seen by anyone. Fortunately, things get much better with the rest of the videos. Time warp to 1977 and the next video "Come Sail Away" is a great vintage music video. You may have seen brief excerpts of this video when VH-1 aired STYX: Behind the Music. One thing you'll notice is how much facial hair Dennis has. Images of this video are pretty clear, but this video is very old, so it's not going to be like any movie DVD you may have.

The third ("Too Much Time On My Hands") and fourth ("The Best Of Times") videos, were also made even before there was an MTV, however the image quality of these two videos are superb, even better than satellite or digital cable offers. The third is video is probably one of my favorites since actually succeeds in being funny for the right reasons. It is part concept and performance video while the next video is mostly a performance video. All of music videos for the album "Paradise Theater" were shot in one day as were the first three music videos for the "Kilroy Was Here" album.

The next video for "Boat On The River" is extremely rare, so I was thrilled when was included in this collection. It's another vintage video from 1979 that has Dennis playing his accordion and Tommy with his pint size mandolin guitar. The video reminds me how the band plays performs this song now live on stage "unplugged". Best of all on these two vintage videos, is all the great fashions the band had back-in-the-day. All of these vintage music videos (from the '70s) never aired MTV.

The last video is the popular "Mr. Roboto" music video. A well done video for its day, it was played very often in MTV early days. The image quality of this video looks to be a bit fuzzier than some older MTV videos and there's a slight sound skip at the very end of the video that wasn't on this music video when it was on MTV.

All of the music videos have great stereo sound. After watching this DVD a few times, you'll probably will also want to get Styx's latest double CD compilation called - "Come Sail Away: The Styx Anthology" for when your not near your television. Universal has said that if this STYX DVD music video collection sells well enough that they will release another volume of STYX music videos and since this collection represents less than one quarter of all of their videos let hope the next volume is much larger. Besides the seven performance, pre-MTV, vintage music videos from the 1970's, there's another rare concept music video for "Haven't We Been Here Before" that has only aired once or twice on late night TV over twenty years ago. Hopefully, this DVD is just a small preview and the next STYX DVD collection will include some of these other videos next time, but for this price you can't go wrong with getting this music video collection.

3 out of 5 stars I would have to agree.......2005-04-19

I would have to agree with some of the other reviews. This isn't what kind of stuff they do, its just a lot of posing and suggestive posing. However knowing Playboy did we expect any different, I didn't. However this isn't top-notch Playboy fare. A couple of the sequences have absolutely horrendous looking chicks. You can tell this was a patch job from already published scenes. There were a couple (mind you a couple) of good scenes. A shower scene in a locker room with an entire, we'll say cheerleading squad, cleaning each other (like thats what you'd see in a real locker room) and others including a nude car wash blah blah blah. If you just are looking for something else to look at, sure go ahead and get it. However if you're looking for super raunchy girl-girl action with first-class music, keep looking.

2 out of 5 stars elevator music, anyone?.......2004-07-01

what is usually great about playboy is the music that accompanies the babes. This dvd--not so. Real boring. Music has little beat, and neither do the girls. Wish I read Amazon ratings before I bought this...

2 out of 5 stars A disappointing DVD ..........2001-03-10

This could have been a great DVD, but unfortunately, it ended up being a disappointing mishmash of older Playboy videos, with no segment longer than 2 minutes.

I've seen some pretty good Playboy scenes on other DVDs, like the 3 girl massage scene from Girlfriends, or the Jacqueline Lovell bedroom scene in Freshman Class, or the full body massage from Sex on the Beach. None of these were here.

What good scenes it did have, they were re-cut and shortened from the original video where it may have appeared, like the car convertible segment from Blue Collar Babes. The original segment was maybe 3 or 4 minutes long, but it was 1 minute here. Jacqueline Lovell's segment from Hard Bodies was 6 or 7 minutes long, but abbreviated to less than 2 minutes here.

I'm glad I only rented this one. Save your money, and get the full-length scenes from the DVDs where the segments appeared in their entirety.

1 out of 5 stars a waste of time and money.......2001-01-01

carrie westcott and julie lynn cialini on the cover. well they are only in the bonus footage and its from 1994-5! basically a big waste...

2 out of 5 stars even less thrilling Playboy.......2000-10-25

A lot of guys usually knock Playboy titles for not being explicit enough, but I prefer their "softer edge" -there's plenty of hard core material elsewhere. Still, "No Boys Allowed" is not only tame, but fairly boring as well even for Playboy's standards. Even the bonus material (approx. 20 mins.) featuring Playmates cannot save this title.

This review refers to the video tape.

3 out of 5 stars Not what I expected.......2002-08-20

I was very disappointed with this DVD. Since the cover made no mention as to whether the videos were live or not, I assumed they were the music videos that used to play on MTV back in the early 80's. Unfortunately, these are all live videos. To make things worse, these are recent live videos. I purchased this DVD specifically because of REO SpeedWagon and Styx. Some of the band members are not the original members. Take Styx, for example. They have a different drummer (original one passed away), bass player, and keyboard player. As you may know, Dennis Deyoung was their original keyboard player, and more importantly, one of their lead singers. The new guy plays the keyboard very well but does not compare vocally to Dennis Deyoung. The videos are excellent quality, however.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars better Playboy DVD of college girls.......2001-09-27

This is a pretty good DVD among the Playboy titles which feature college girls. There were 9 video segments, each about 6 minutes each, with a brief 30-second interview before each segment with the girls to be shown.

All of these girls appear to be college girls or maybe amateur models, but none were Playmates or models who have appeared in other Playboy DVDs or magazines. The girls certainly had the "look" of college girls than of professional models. It looks like model Lisa Boyle on the cover, but she is nowhere to be seen on the DVD.

Most of the 9 segments featured one girl presented with different various themes. The best ones were a lovely hottie stripping in the library as 2 male voyeurs watched and a perky blonde co-ed disrobing in front of her professor. Other segments showed vignettes of a girl doing her laundry (including the clothes she was wearing), one meditating doing yoga exercises, and another being the campus radio DJ.

3 of the segments did show more than one girl. The best segment on the whole DVD was a nice 5 minute girl-girl scene between two petite co-eds in their dorm room. Nothing explicit, just touching and massaging. The other scenes with more than one girl involved a car wash scene and a nude sunbathing scene.

By far, this DVD is better than the Playboy's College Girls title, but maybe not as spicy as the Freshman Class DVD which featured Playboy models and B-movie actresses. This is a slightly older title, released by Image in 1997, and the video quality is somewhat grainy in certain scenes, not nearly as sharp and crisp as many of the newer Universal releases are.

This is still a worthy pickup as long as you aren't expecting to see Playmates on here.

5 out of 5 stars Hot Chicks Get Naked! Again!.......2001-05-20

Man, there are a ton of hot chicks in this thing. More then I've seen in all the porns I have. Get this thing. They all get naked! And you know what happens when hot college chicks get naked don't you. Well, If you do tell me, cause I want to know. This is something you must have!

4 out of 5 stars There HOT, There very HOT.......2000-07-29

Dont get me wrong I love fresh naked woman dancing around. But I would prefer a little more action. The whole time watching it I was just waiting for something to happen, sometimes got half and half bored. These girls are hot, there naked and they are together. But they dont actually do anything together. If you are going to have a two girl scene at least let them excite each other. Or even if they are alone let them comfort themselves. This is the main thing lacking in this movie and it exactly what the people that buy these movies are looking for. They dont actually play with what we want them to and I have found this the same with other Penthouse and Playboy films

"When Dinosaurs Roamed the Stage" might be a good subtitle for this 85-minute concert, which features the likes of Styx, Iron Butterfly, John Kay & Steppenwolf, and other (mostly) '60s and '70s rockers performing in 1999 at Tennessee's Itchycoo Park. Calling them "legends" is a bit of a stretch; for the most part, these are people who had some hits and then disappeared, only to rise again on the rock revival circuit with, in most cases, less than a full complement of original members.

Potentially pathetic, perhaps, but all concerned turn in good, solid performances. Predictable ones, too, but one can hardly expect Grand Funk Railroad's Mark Farner not to play "I'm Your Captain," and the same goes for Firefall and "You Are the Woman," Starship (with Mickey Thomas the only remaining singer from the Jefferson Airplane spinoff's "classic" lineup) and "We Built This City," and on and on. In fairness, some of the performances go beyond the by-the-numbers approach: Kay brings some genuine fire to "Born to Be Wild," and Christopher Cross and his superb band beautifully re-create the smooth groove of "Sailing." --Sam Graham

4 out of 5 stars I was THERE!.......2005-09-22

It's a great snippet of what the entire concert was, however, there was SO much great music there. I think it's a real shame no one released the ENTIRE concert or at least MORE of what was a great 4 days in Tennessee!

5 out of 5 stars I Knew The Words To Every Song.......2004-12-16

For those of you who grew up in the late 60's thru the 70s, this nice concert video might just hit the spot. Call me sentimental, but when Rare Earth finished their classic 70s megahit "Get Ready" and Firefall began performing "You Are The Woman", I couldn't help fighting back a tear. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but it was really nice to see these "legends" reach back and perform their hits. I mean, Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad) doing "I'm Your Captain/Closer To My Home"...! 'nuff said.

3 out of 5 stars Expecting better.......2002-10-04

I purchased this DVD, waiting for it for about a month, and expecting a big show of those 70's legends. Big names and excepcional songs. But when I watch the show, I feel that those great bands performed lightly with certain exceptions like John Kay & Steppewolf, and Rare Earth. The singer of Iron Butterfly was surely out of tune when singing their hit In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. I think Christopher Cross becomes too old to perform on public, except for those beautiful girls on Drums and Keyboard.
This DVD could be better produced.

4 out of 5 stars GREAT ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC DVD.......2002-08-28

THERE ARE VARIOUS ARTISTS FEATURED ON THIS DVD. HOWEVER, THESE PERFORMERS ARE VERY GOOD.
I'VE DEFINETELY SEEN BETTER, BUT THIS IS PRETTY GOOD STUFF. IT FEATURES A LOT OF GOOD MUSIC FROM THE 60'S AND 70'S.
ALL IN ALL, A PRETTY GOOD DVD!! SOUND IS GOOD IN 5.1 AND PICTURE IS OKAY TOO!!
